Didn't fit perfectly but with a little adjustments and a few passes with the die grinder I made it work. The side mounting brackets had to be modified but worked

Excellent install kit

I was very excited to learn of this installation kit for my 1995 Z28 Camaro. It came with a 1.5 DIN receiver of which none are available any more. previously I was stuck with a single DIN unit with a motorized screen and I had to use a filler spacer around the face to fill in the gap. Now I can use a Double DIN receiver in my car and have all the features new cars have. The kit comes with a new escutcheon for the receiver and it matches pretty well. It's a bit tricky getting it set just right in the dash. There are many options between the receiver and the brackets as to how to locate the receiver. It would be nice if Metra would provide suggested location and which screw holes to use for the brackets. Because of the escutcheon there is really only one way to fit the brackets for the best appearance. Also I think the opening should be a bit bigger. It won't quite fit around my Double Din receiver however this may be the best size with all the various receivers out there with different size opening needed. It's a minor issue and my install looks good. The finish on the escutcheon is a textured, black finish that fits is well with my car's interior.
