See DNR476S review. If it moved the DNR476S out 1/8 inch it would have gotten 5 stars. Install hint, I used blue Loctite on the screws as they did not fell sufficiently tight to me

Works, not clean, less stout

Crutchfield customer from Chicago, IL on 8/11/2019

2007 GMC Sierra

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Works. It would be nice to have metal side-plates. I had some issues with the pre-made wiring harness from Crutchfield which required me to take the radio out several times. Iwas worried that the install kit was going to crack or break. The radio ve trim gaps are not even as well - no matter how many times I tried adjusting its positioning.

Pros: Works

Cons: Uneven gaps, feels cheap and fragile

Crutchfield customer from Stockton, CA on 7/25/2019

2011 GMC Acadia

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This is the only option available for the GMC Acadia, the bezel holds the radio too far back so the volume knob was unusable, I had to take a dremel to the back of the bezel so the radio would sit further out. The brackets to hold the radio to the bezel were made from soft plastic and easily distorted when screwing the radio in. I ended up using washers and flat head screws since I distorted the plastic trying to use the flush mount screws that it came with. The pictures are before I trimmed the back of the faceplate, and after.

Not the greatest for a '14 Tahoe with a Kenwood

Crutchfield customer from Rocky Hill, CT on 7/8/2019

2014 Chevrolet Tahoe

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

While this fits my '14 Tahoe - it does not really integrate well in my opinion. Since there is a curve/bevel to the dash on the '14 Tahoe (and related body styles within the model years) the head unit sits recessed within the mount vs flush or extruded as head units are flat faced. This would be fine, however this is much too recessed in my opinion with no visible option to allow the unit to be any further out (short of cutting and modifying on my own). It is possible that it may have been exacerbated

Not Metra's best quality I'm use to....

Crutchfield customer from Hillsdale, MI on 6/13/2019

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

NOTE: Not Crutchfield's Fault but Ive always bought and liked Metra dash kits and will gladly pay for that quality but didn't get it here and my only fix from Metra is to heat the plastic to let it fit better....i mean, really?! Everyone's saying it's my dash and i need to modify but why should i when i bought a product that's suppose to fit?! It fit and bolted in but doesn't match my dash even tho my dash is factory and unmolested!

Pros: Bolts lined up

Cons: Terrible contour to match dash

Good kit

Crutchfield customer from Rcho Sta Marg, CA on 6/10/2019

2014 Chevrolet Suburban

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This is a slick unit for sure--it can adjust to fit about any stereo you can throw at it I'm sure. I used it to put a Kenwood in a 2014 Suburban. My only issue is that I wish the bezel didn't project out as far from the front of the stereo. The face of the stereo ends up being inset too deep and it makes the buttons right against the bezel a little less convenient to operate.

Pros: Fit great and very universal

Cons: I wish the bezel didn't project out as far from the front of the stereo. The face of the stereo ends up being inset too deep and it makes the buttons right against the bezel a little less convenient to operate.

It worked well for my 08 silverado and was quick. It would be a lot easier if ears had a tab that snapped and held them in place while trying to attach to the radio.

So far my radio appears secure. Unfortunately the side brackets don't align with any of the screw holes on the radio evenly. With that being said, I was only able to get half the screws into the radio to secure it to the bracket. It is holding, but don't know if I would trust it going off road.

Pros: Somewhat compatible

Cons: Side brackets need improvement

Fits the vehicle, not the radio.

Crutchfield customer from Apple Valley, MN on 4/29/2019

2008 GMC Yukon XL Denali

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Has a nice fit in the factory opening, however the opening for the radio is actually too small. So the radio face butts up against the back of the dash kit and is left recessed way into the dashboard. So the dash kit itself looks good but it makes the radio look terrible. Also because the radio itself did not fit through the opening in the dash kit and just butts up against the back side, it is so deep into the dash opening that the radio did not actually fit in my 2008 Yukon. So I had to cut out a bunch of support structure in the dash opening so the radio would fit. So Crutchfield's "recommendations" on what would fit are not right with this thing. Furthermore, I would have bought a better radio if I knew I would have to cut out the back anyway.

Pros: Excellent fit & finish for the vehicle

Cons: Doesn't actually fit a double din radio so radio is forced to fit ~1" deeper into the dash.

Duplex Mount

The duplex mount fit my 09 Silverado nicely. I mounted a Blaupunkt Miami radio. The mount did not come with screws, but was able to get 5 by 0.8 by 10 metric screws at Lowes. I also used a little silicon sealant under the mount plates to hold the secure. It has great adhesive properties. The black Matt finish of the exposed frame matches the rest of the dash. =Very nice, I would purchase again and would recommend it.

Adequate dash kit, but didn't line up extremely well.

Dave from Brush, CO on 12/13/2018

2008 GMC Sierra

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I was a bit disappointed with this dash kit for my 2008 GMC Sierra. It seemed a bit flimsy, but should secure the Pioneer AVH-201EX adequately. I was more dissatisfied with the fit around the outside where it meets up with my existing dash. It didn't line up evenly across the top, leaving gaps at both ends. I was unable to adjust it better. Also the radio set a bit too deep in the dash kit, but I didn't want to try and trim it to bring it further forward as some have done. If I had know it was like this I would have probably paid more for a better kit if available. The color was a good match to my existing dash.

Pros: Color and texture matched existing dash, should hold radio adequately

Cons: A bit flimsy, didn't line up very well with existing dash, radio set too deep in unit to be flush.

The most important thing for me is how it looks in the dash, and it matches perfectly. It seems a little cheepo mechanically. 100% plastic. And a little wobbly holding the unit. It was okay after I mounted it in the dash.

Cons: 100% plastic.

Not the best. The dash kit is too wide on the side for a clean fit in my vehicle. I felt I was going to crack the trim around it during the install. It was too thick to allow the face of the unit to be flush. This cause the only control button on a Sony XAV-a100 to be recessed. Fortunately I only use the button for on and off. I can contro the volume by the SWC. In the directions should be an explanation to trim down the interior lip for a flush fit.

Pros: Clean design and matches the original dash trim.

Cons: Does not allow for a flush fit.

Required minor shaving in order for my AVH-4200NEX on the tilt screen function however it said that before I bought it. I'm stoked about the looks. Very OEM like does take a couple of tries to find the right holes in the brackets. See for yourself in my pics, the HU is a AVH-4200NEX

Pros: OEM like Holes line up perfect on bracket Looks great Sturdy

Cons: Minor shaving for my NEX unit, as EXPECTED for tilt units.

Not without issue

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Installation was for Sony XAV-AX100 in a 2007 GMC Yukon. The face plate blended well with the surrounding dash, but there were some concerns. The side mounting plates were a little flimsy, and seemed a little cheap. It may be due to the vehicle I was installing it in, but the faceplate had to be trimmed to allow the unit to come forward slightly so the Sony would fit. Originally the volume knob would have been obstructed by the side of the face plate, but after trimming about 1/16" of an inch from the interior opening the unit fit, and the volume know was now free from obstruction.

Pros: Blended well with dash

Cons: Obstructed volume knob, required trimming

Fitment I would say is about a 9/10 on my 2009 Chevrolet Silverado LT. I have a Pioneer DVD player and between the factory plastic bezel and this aftermarket one is a couple of small gaps but probably only noticeable to the person that installs it. I've never once had a passenger in the car ask my about the gaps. I would still definitely recommend this dash kit to anyone else. The finish is a very close match to the factory plastic on the dash around it.

Pros: Held the DVD player in firmly Finish was almost a perfect match to my factory plastic bezel around it

Cons: Very hard to notice but I do have a slight gap at the corners between the outside of the dash kit and the factory bezel on my dash but not nearly enough to be an issue

Instructions are easy to follow and looks good with the factory dash. Small fitment issue on a 2008 Tahoe. The top of the adapter is about 1/16" too wide and the dash surround will not snap into place. Some patience and a razor blade solves the issue in a few minutes.

2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I received this dash kit for my 2009 Chevy Silverado. While it does technically fit and technically work. It is very evident that this is made for several vehicles. The top edge of the bracket that should fit square to the inner edge of the dash trim, has a slight curve to it. This slight curvature may work great for some trims but in the Silverado leaves a 1mm gap at either end of the top of the kit. Also the kit fits around my Double Din Radio just on the front of the radio. The radio cannot push all the way through. What I mean by this is the radio sits behind the kit and the face of the radio cannot be brought further forward. This keeps the radio recessed behind the kit face. I would have preferred to be able to bring the radio out almost a quarter inch, creating a flush fit at the front and more airflow in the rear. I see a few other people that have rated this kit as 5 stars for the same truck. I may be too picky, but with the number of these trucks on the road it seems it should deserve a perfect fitting kit, not a universal kit. I will be searching for a better kit.

Pros: Technically fits and is easy to use. Screw holes and temperature controls line up perfectrly

Cons: Not a perfect fit for my truck no adjustment for my Kenwood 6904 Double dDin

2008 Saturn Outlook

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

As a previous reviewer with the same vehicle (Saturn Outlook) mentioned, this dash kit doesn't sit flush at the top end causing a roughly 2-3mm gap at the top corners and edge with the factory trim. The bottom corners are flush to the trim, although 1 of the bottom trim clips is loose and I'll be replacing it when I Dremel this adapter to the same size and shape as the factory radio's mount. Not sure if this will be a concern for owners of other Lambda platform vehicles, such as acadia or enclave, as on certain trims this same trim section is divided into multiple pieces ... In my install it doesn't sit flush, so I kinda wish I'd gotten the Scosche or similar kit as other seem to have the rounded top edges that match the factor stereo's mount, but it was free with the unit and I have the tools to make it work

Pros: It attached an aftermarket head unit to my factory mounting location

Cons: The top corners are preventing the dash trim from seating properly and having a flush look, will trim corners to match factory mount profile

Works good with my 2013 silverado. Installed easy, fits in the truck nicely. One downside was that the face of my Pioneer AVH-X391BHS sits a little back from the face of the dash kit so they aren't perfectly flush with each other. It could be the radio style too. Fits okay. I guess there are two dash types for these GM trucks, it must be made for the other type. My kit curves in too much in the top corners leaving a small gap at both sides. 2010 Sierra SLE. I had to modify it for my tilting screen on my Pioneer 4200NEX. The website warned me this kit wouldn't fit but I couldn't find any alternatives either. I had to trim the back of the frame so the unit would sit further out, just 2mm or so, not much. Now it works.

Does not work with all 7 inch screens as stated. it looks really nice, but there was not enough clearance for my Pioneer AVHX4800BS unit to open in order to insert a DVD. This product needs some R&D to be better fitted for all stereo units.

Pros: looks incredible and sleek.

Cons: does not have enough clearence for all radio units in regards to a flip up screen for DVDs.

2010 Chevrolet Suburban

Very pleased with the appearance and fit once installed. It fits the other dash panels with tight gaps, and the finish on the visible portion looks very high quality. My only complaint is that the two side brackets that actually bear the weight of the head unit are plastic rather than metal. Having said that, they seem to be up to the task. My only fear is that they might be susceptible to cracking if you aren't careful during installation or future removals. One other thing I'll mention here since it applies to the application this unit fits: take it seriously when Crutchfield says that plugs in the upper half of your receiver may interfere with the dash. The head unit I bought had the rear view camera plug about two-thirds of the way from the bottom of the head unit, and I had to do some minor trimming of the internal dash structure to make it fit. Fortunately where it was located side-to-side I could create the clearance by only trimming the plastic and not the metal substructure of the dash.

Pros: Fit and finish

Cons: Side brackets could be beefier, but they work.

Fits well, but very thick

nbakings from Sacramento, CA on 7/26/2016

2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This fits the hole that remains after removing the factory head unit very well. The instructions don't mention making sure to remove any generic dash kit pieces that might come per-attached to your aftermarket unit, but you must remove them before sliding your radio into this dash kit. The front plate on this unit is very thick. So thick, that any buttons or knobs that are on the extreme outer edges of your head unit might be hard to access because the frame is so high next to them. My unit has a knob on the center edge of the left side, and I cannot get my thumb and fingers to pinch the knob to turn it with this frame because it is as thick as the knob. I searched Crutchfield and couldn't find a thinner unit though, so we may be stuck here.

Pros: Fits the hole left from removing factory unit well.

Cons: Tabs where screws attach this frame to the car are kind of weak and bend when screwed down tight. Frame is very thick, so accessing edge knobs and buttons is difficult for thick fingered folks.

I would have given this product 5 stars if the radio were centered in the opening of the dash trim. If I were paying for a professional install I would have been quite upset with the overall look of the install. However, since this was a self install I can live with the radio being slightly off centered in the trim opening. Aside from that minor issue, the install was very simple and straight forward.

Pros: Simple and straight forward install.

Cons: Slightly off color from factory plastic and radio slightly off center from trim.

The dash kit fits my Sierra Denali nicely, however, it is too tight for the newer 7" touchscreen radios that "flip up" in order to play DVD's and media on SD cards. In the end, I had to go to one of my local Car Radio stores and purchase a different brand that fits just as nice, but also allows the new touchscreen radio the ability to "flip up."

Pros: Nice fit to the dash

Cons: too small for the newer 7" touchscreen radios that have the "flip up" feature in order to play media.

Not a perfect fit

Too big for the dash, had to squeeze the dash back on and it was very difficult. Dash adapter also is too tight around a 7" screen, it does not allow the screen to pop forward to access the DVD drive. So I have to pull the entire kit back out of my dash, take the dash adapter off, and then file down the plastic to get the full functionality of my new stereo. I am not happy about it as that was a pain the ass to get in.

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Cheap plastic, too big for dash, too small for new stereos.

Perfect Fit

Perfect fit. Makes the stereo looks like it belongs in the dash of my 2009 Traverse. Make sure to fit the tabs of the side brackets into the slots of the front bracket. Maybe I missed that part in the instructions, but I scratched my head for a while trying to figure out how to make it fit properly. Once I did though, it was easy-peasy.

Pros: Perfect fit. Makes my stereo install look like I'm a professional.

Cons: Either it was me or the instructions weren't clear on connecting the 3-pieces. No biggie. I figured it out and I'm no Rocket Surgeon.

Metra 95-3305 Dash Kit

I like the look because it matches the dash completely but I cannot get it to mount flush with the original dash at the top. I've attempted to adjust it a couple of times without success but I'm not going to replace it. It still looks alright.

Pros: Same color as the dash and the stereo fit perfectly into it.

Cons: Can't get it to match up exactly with the original dash opening.

This bracket Looks like it is too lightweight but I guess it is sufficient to hold the lightweight receivers of today. I don't anticipate any problems. The side mounting slots didn't seem to align quite right but there are enough screws in it to hold securely.

Pros: It seems to work fine, was easy to install.

Cons: probably strong enough but I would have liked it better if it felt and looked stronger.

Kit mounts to the radio perfectly, and the trim color matches pretty well, but it is too tight in the horizontal, and too loose on the vertical. Which made trying to get the dash back together difficult.

Pros: Works, mostly.

Cons: Not a normal outstanding product from Crutchfield. The tabs where it aligns with the existing dash were off just a bit.

Fits a Tahoe, but just barely

Growler from Sewickley, PA on 9/28/2015

This dash kit allowed me to mount a new Kenwood Xcelon series head unit in my Chevy Tahoe, but left some room for improvement. With all the wires to account for in the back, the stereo barely fit in the dash. The mounting kit should have allowed for a little more adjustment front-to-back, because the head unit is not flush with the dash, and could have come forward about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, which would have left more room behind the stereo for the wires. The ring around the face plate would need to be trimmed to allow the stereo to come forward by that 1/4 to 1/2 an inch also.

Pros: Allowed me to mount my new Kenwood Xcelon series in my 2007 Chevy Tahoe.

Cons: With a few tweaks, this dash kit would help make my stereo look like it was original equipment, or at least look like it was a professionally installed radio.

Had to do lots of modifications to make it fit. Could not get the flip screen to open as the hole is to small for the radio.

Pros: Looks Ok after modifications.

Cons: Really cheap part.

It'll do if it's all you got

It was a little wider that is should have been. Didn't match with the climate control below it. It also sets the head unit deeper than it should be and the radio barely fits because the back barely has any clearance for the wiring harness. I replaced it with a Schosche brand which fit better but was still really tight in the back.

Pros: Works if it's all you have.

Cons: Too wide, sets radio back too deep.

Decent fit

The color, finish, and texture very closely match the factory dash trim. The problem is the top edge has more curvature that the dash trim opening which leaves gaps on the upper edge on each end...it's not too objectionable but it seems that this is a universal kit for many GM cars and not a custom fit for a 2007-2013 Silverado.

Pros: Close match to factory finish, color

Cons: Not a true custom fit for my truck.
