I purchased this for my 2015 Ford F-550 but the pointing brackets donâ??t seem to fit. Itâ??s like the back mounting pieces need to be cut off so it will slide back in between the vent holes. Is this correct?

Will this dash kit work with a duel xvm296bt?

I'm not sure about the Duel XVM296BT. I do know that I used this dash kit with a 2005 Ford F150 and a Kenwood unit. It worked perfectly. I would guess that it would work with any double DIN unit.

I dont see why it wouldnt as long as its a double din radio they all have have mounting holes in same area.

That radio is being listed as a double din radio which should work just fine with this kit. Now, we need to check if this kit will be able to fit into the dash cavity given the available depth and the depth of this kit with the radio installed into it. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal check

purchased it for my 2010 F-250, what you can do is look up the features and see if there's any similarities!

My 2016 f250 requires the spacers to be used for a proper installation. The factory screws are now too short. Why does this kit not include longer screws? Where can i acquire some?
[ James  Jul 30, 2018 ]
1 answer
I don't know why a spacer is needed. I've looked over our information on that kit and the installation of a radio into the pickup only to find that we don't mention needing longer screws for this install. I do know we don't have any details on the screw sizes to help with finding longer ones. My best recommendation is that you reach out to Metra for that information on the screw size. I have 800-221-0932 for their support number. Once you have that screw size, I'd suggest a hardware store like Lowes or similar for longer versions of those screws. My Bio:

There appears to be a gap at the top when trying to install the Sony WX-900BT into the metra double din kit. Also the screws supplied with the kit seem very long to install with the radio. Should I be using shorter screws?
[ Bikenut  Jan 07, 2017 ]

I used the Metra fit for a Pioneer install in an F-150 P/U, the kit came with an adapter type plate (rectangular price of black plastic that fit over the stereo casing and fitted perfectly into the inner opening of the primary fixture. I thought the kit came with 6 or 8 short stainless steel screws but I may have had them before hand but for the Pioneer they were necessary.
