Dash kit looks good. Easy to assemble. Fit my new radio with minor altercations. Just widening the holes.
Pros: Easy assembly. Looks good. Fit was right on spot.
Cons: Only one con. I had to widen the two areas for the screws to mount to the JVC kw-m150bt. So it would have no gaps in the front. Hold my beer and watch this! 1/4 inch drill bit made the openings line up.

Well made. Great fit and finish. Looks factory in my 2011 F-150 XLT *The hazard / traction control switch on the factory piece comes out through the FRONT after dislodging the pain in the butt clips. Also, you don't have to totally remove the side A/C duct trim pieces like it says in the instructions. Just pop them and push to the side. Every thing will come out easy. As always, I would recommend doing a job like this in warmer weather. Less chance of breaking any clips!
Pros: Factory appearance.

This kit fits perfectly (as it should). I'm not sure why you need to cut a tab to install it, I'm guessing maybe for another model or year you need that tab that gets cut for my vehicle. But, with a pair of side cutters, it popped right off and fits great and holds the radio securely in place.

Don't get this
Crutchfield customer from San Angelo, TX on 6/17/2020
2012 Ford F-150 XLT
Didn't use. The opening for the included adapter plate is huge! Way too much play between the adapter plate and the face plate. Then you have another large amount of play between the stereo and the adapter plate. The face plate is a nice rubberized smooth texture in flat black. The adapter plate that you have to use, is a different texture, finish, plastic, and doesn't match anything. Get the Scosche, much better finish, fit, and installation appearance.
Pros: Crutchfield handled the return like a champ!
Cons: Wasted the time to open the package. Can't see how anyone would be happy with this product.

Perfect stock replacement
Charles from SOUTHERN PINES, NC on 4/14/2020
2011 Ford F-150 XLT
This kit is very well made. Sturdy, not flimsy. It is a different texture than stock, but not at all visually offensive and has already disappeared into my dash. Beware the instructions on pg 5 para 3 and the associated diagram which are deceptive/confusing on which tab to cut. Hold it up to your dash after removing the stock panel and it will be very obvious which tabs to remove. As a note, I cracked one of the top tabs because I over-torqued it and it was very cold out that day so the plastic was brittle. Rookie mistake. The kit holds itself in place very solidly by the clips alone so don't think that you need to overturn the screws - it's very sturdy and nothing moves or jiggles. I recommend getting a cigarette lighter USB adapter if your HU has USB outputs - it looks great and stockish. Well done Metra.
Pros: Disappears from your minds-eye just as any good stock replacement should. Very, very solidly holds the aftermarket HU in place and looks perfectly stock. All seams and bolt/screw and tab locations were spot-on perfect.
Cons: Instructions had one hiccup regarding clarity on which tabs to cut in both the graphics and verbiage on pg 5.

Better than an alternative
Trevor from Soldotna, AK on 1/8/2020
2013 Ford F-150 XLT
I'll be brief. The fit is not as good as the OEM faceplate. It's certainly cleaner than cutting out the factory one, but nevertheless. I like the matte look for sure, and after some time away from it (spent a good while working out some technical bugs with the radio I installed), I won't notice it. For me, the cigarette lighter fit the worst out of everything that got swapped over. No big deal, it's not gonna get pulled out with use, but still. I'm particular sometimes.
Pros: Cleaner than cutting out the OEM Everything fit
Cons: Not a 100% clean fit.

Cover good but bezel bad
Crutchfield customer from Latham, OH on 12/3/2019
2011 Ford F-150 XLT
The main cover plate was perfectly fine, but I was not happy about the bezel that fits around the radio itself. The finish was vastly different, in color, texture, and sheen, from the main cover plate. It did not fit in the opening of the main cover plate very well at all - big gap around the edge, and did not sit flush (or even parallel) with the cover piece.

Great fascia, horribly cheap looking bezel.
Andrew from Wyoming, MI on 3/12/2019
2011 Ford F-150 XLT
The weak link in my project. Metra did an excellent job on the whole actual dash fascia piece but then they provide this really cheap and cheesy abs plastic bezel to go directly around the head unit. I mean the fascia is this really nice flat rubberized piece that looks like it came from Ford directly, and then this bezel looks like some flimsy, shiny, and oddly textured plastic. It looks like the plastic you'd find on some project box or something. Ended up going to finish master and bought a can of plastic prep spray, adhesion promoter, and some SEM trim black paint. $50 later, and an hour of work and it at least looks acceptable.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Cheap, poorly made and looking bezel.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars out of 5 is because this trim kit is smooth matte finish where as the OEM trim was textured and I would have preferred to keep the look of the original textured trim. The fit was great. No issues with inserting the factory dash components back into this trim kit -- before I purchased this I saw a video where someody had to shave down the opening to get the traction control button/hazard lights button/airbag status indictator to fit properly so the buttons would depress properly. Did not have that issue with this kit. The plastic frame and brackets that screw onto the new radio to mount to the car took some trial and error -- there may have been instructrions for that but I didn't read them.

Not as nice looking as the OEM panel but it looks fine, and every OEM part perfectly fit in it. Mine showed up with some minor damage but it's not visible and didn't cause problems so I didn't worry about it. I hate to rely on a inexpensive piece of plastic to hold my expensive radio, but it doesn't seem like anyone has problems over time.
Pros: Easy install. Everything fits perfectly in it.
Cons: Not as nice as the OEM panel, but certaintly no one would ever think that it doesn't belong in the vehicle.

Fit well into my Ford F-150. Unfortunately, it is not a prefect color match with the rest of the interior, but hardly noticeable. I knew that prior to purchase. I placed small pieces of cloth electrical tape on the lips where the rest of the trim will mate up, just to be sure there is no rattle.

OEM Quailty
Zach from Charlotte, NC on 5/10/2017
2011 Ford F-150 XLT
OEM quality. It is not the same texture/finish as the OEM flat black one, but is very close in color. It does not look bad at all and I would buy again (if needed). All cuts are exact fit and are clean. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it seems like oils can stain the flat black finish. Other than that, everything is perfect.
Pros: - clean cuts - OEM quality - Very close in color to OEM
Cons: - oily fingerprints can stain the finish.

good product
Joseph from Spencer, Ma. on 3/20/2016
2010 Ford F-150 XLT
Good product, however the photo on the website seems to show the surface as being similar to the factory "crosshatch" finish, when in fact it is a flat dull finish. It's ok just a little disappointed. Instructions should also mention that you have to move the heating/AC control unit from the old faceplate to the new, and specify the torx-bit required in advance. Overall quality seems fine, with good fit.
Pros: easy to install, good overall fit
Cons: instructions should specify moving the air-control unit and torx-bit size.

2014 Ford F-150 XL, replacing am/fm head unit with a kenwood touch screen DVD/MP3/siriusxm/rear camera upgrade. The main dash replacement piece was not needed, the stock one worked fine and looked a ton better, I have no intention to spray paint it a different color, otherwise it's been worth it. I only used the plastic bracket included, but ended up snapping one of the connections, don't tighten it down all the way

Simple yet effective
Scott from Ohio on 7/27/2015
The outer framing plate fits perfect in my dash, looks close to the original.. about the only issue I had with it was the alignment with the 3 piece bracket on the stereo -- no reference marks or any way to gauge where you are with the outer frame .. had to set it in take put on the outer, take off, tweak positioning, on off etc. until I got a good symmetrical fit into the outer frame's opening as there is a small amount of gap. The two pieces overlap well but the "lip" on the inner frame definitely shows whether you got the stereo in there straight or not. Mainly a pain due to the Ford design in the center plate inter locking with the two side trim pieces, so several steps to get it securely seated. So hopefully your better at "eyeballing" the alignment on the stereo mounting brackets. But very good look and fit, ESPECIALLY for the price in my opinion. Transfers your climate controls from your original face plate so helps maintain the look. Only thing I can think of is the matte black version is smooth and all of my black surfaces in the truck have a texture to them so that makes it stand out slightly. But I think the stereo is a pretty good distraction from that.
Pros: Simple to install, does what it should
Cons:

Not crazy about the design of this kit. The bezel within the bezel made for a sloppy looking installation. Fit and finish were good. I would've preferred textured kit availability to match the stock look. In the end I replaced it with a Scosche kit which made for a cleaner look
Pros: Good fit
Cons: Flat finish and double bezel

Fitment was exactly like stock, finish is just too plain for me so I used a 3M vinyl carbon fiber overlay to fix that.
Pros: Perfect fit
Cons: Wish it was available in at least gloss black finish

Fits perfect. Looks kinda weird
Pros: Easy to install and fits perfect.
Cons: The after-market radio is actually mounted a bit recessed. The surface of the radio is about 1/2" deep into the dash face and not flush to the surface. No big deal just looks weird

2011 F150 Radio Upgrade

I gave this 5 stars but there are a few things I'm not crazy about the unit fit flawlessly just like OEM wish they made touchscreen openings in various sizes to match the different sizes of the touchscreens available.
Pros: Fits like OEM
Cons: Fill boarder for use with smaller touchscreens and texture of the fill boarder didn't match the finish of the finish of the face plate. The face plate itself did match the finish of the OEM climate controls.

This replacement faceplate fits great, and is good quality. I have it in and out several times due to other issues, and it still looks and works fine.
Pros: Fit and quality

Excellent
Ed from S'port, LA on 10/22/2012
This is the third vehicle I have used one of these kits in over the past couple years. Two were used in grandaughters Mustangs and this one used in my F-150 FX4. I attempted to locate a glossy trim panel Ford terms as "luxury interior" trim but failed. This flat black still fit in nicely with minimum esthetic loss. I can't imagine anyone putting in an after market head unit without one of these kits.
Pros: Fits great.
Cons: Couldn't find one identical to my interior.

Does what it should
Charles M from Tampa, Fl on 4/2/2012

Fits like it should, easy to follow instructions, no customization was required to make it fit. It simply works as it was designed to. on a side note, removing the airbag and traction control buttons from the other faceplate was a pain in the rear
Pros: Works like it should
Cons:
