Used to install a Alpine iLX-W650 in a 2012 Jeep Wangler. All plastic... so, very soft, flimsy material for its intended us. We had to modify the brackets and the corresponding mounting holes by using metal strapping for flush installation.

The kit does what it's supposed to but I was unhappy the parts are all plastic. Also, the instructions were a bit vague. For example I needed to cut out some room in the sub dash but they only had a small diagram of what to remove and not much else.

I appreciate all the mounting holes, but some are too close together. I cracked one of the holes and had to switch to another because the plastic is flimsy in between the very close ones. Glad my receiver is light so it shouldn't be a problem. Would be nice if there was a guide to use the slim or thick side pieces based on measurement or common vehicle trims.

The side mount attachments work great but it was a little confusing to figure out which side clips to use for my application. I wish the mounts were aluminum or steel because the plastic felt a little brittle when attaching to the head unit but it all worked out in then end. Eventually I figured it out. The instructions were clear, I just had trouble processing what was needed. The main issue I have is that the kit does not address a gap created at the bottom of the radio. The side spacers fit nicely and give the install a nice finished look. It would be nice to have something for the bottom gap, but its a gap between the bend in the dash facia and the radio head so I'm not sure what they could do. Would certainly buy again for the next radio upgrade I do. The drawbacks aren't

The kit was OK. It took multiple assemblies and disassembles to try to find the right location of the mounting plates and spacers. I wish there would be a mounting diagram for each vehicle available. That would have saved me a few hours.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Jk

Seems pretty sturdy , might be better if the brackets were metal , maybe another packet of screws would be helpful.If installing an Alpine Ilx W650 in a Jeep Wrangler Jk you need to use the "short nose" fillers , took me a few minutes to figure it out . After install there's a small gap between both sides of the head unit and the fillers, I cut 2 pieces of small vacuum hose and pushed them into the gaps , looks much better.

The kits pretty simple but I had two right narrow pieces instead of a right wide piece Then I had to swap the left side to the right and vice versa so it would line up It'd look better if I had the wide pieces to fill in the gaps but you don't really notice em unless your lookin right at it, plus the 10" screen covers it so you work with what ya got and it works

Just an OK kit..... it mounted up to the radio great with no issues but man, the fit is terrible around the radio too the dash. Most kits fit pretty good but this was not good

Looks good to me, used the short nose spacers with the BOSS BV775B for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler....just pop off the bezel on the BOSS and do a 5-minute cut in the plastic radio cavity.

Not a good selection - filler pieces on each side do not attach firmly. I returned and used a Scosche CR1291B. I would not recommend the Metra 95-6511

Awful dash kit, find a scosche. This is weak plastic and the two pieces are not that solid. Makes getting this thing to look right pretty difficult. Had concerns about putting it in and taking it out while adjusting it that it was going to fall apart with the repeated screw tightening

Instructions Should Explain HOW It Attaches

Didn't really understand how this fit to my dash, but once I kinda just played around, I figured it out. Instructions aren't clear how this attaches to the frame, but pretty simple design. It utilizes the dimples and gravity hold them in place. Works well

Kit was easy to assemble however it does. It explain which pieces to use or how to tell which pieces to use. I called their support and they said they didn't know either. That I just had to try different ones and see if they work.

Horrible looking in '16 Wrangler

Wrangler 2016 install is absolutely dreadful. The kit holds the unit recessed over 1/8 of an inch with an obvious gap at the bottom The side filler pieces have a good gap at the top of both sides instead of a nice tight fit. Thank goodness I did a fit check to the Jeep's trim plate before a complete install and soldering the harness. The fit was so bad the oem stereo is back in the Jeep and my higher optioned Pioneer with "apple car play" is being sent back. No way I could live with the appearance of the installation kit.

The instructions are lackluster. If you're purchasing this product, do not depend on the instructions and make sure you know what you're doing. With that said, the product is made just well enough to do the job, but it does not fit a '15 Wrangler JKU paired with a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX. I cannot speak for any other head units, but this pairing required me to make major modifications with a dremel tool and a set of 6 washers.

Great design crappy execution. I know that the maker is trying to save money in the manufacturing. However the use of plastic makes the dash kit flimsy and easily compromised. I would prefer the material to be of a sturdier metal.

Does the job, but could be better

This kit does the basic job and it fit fine in my install. However, note the sheer number of options on the brackets for any set of holes in a head unit - while it's a good thing to have one kit that is this adaptable, this many holes ruins the integrity of the bracket wall. Initially I tried to use it as-is, but found the screw holes too weak because of the thin plastic between them, so I had to add some washers to strengthen the backing for the screws. The plastic itself is a little flimsy, so having so little for the screws to hang on to is not a good design. The gap fillers are fine as well, but the way they connect is a little weak, too. I'd maybe go with 3.5 out of 5 stars here, but just cannot justifiably round up to 4 stars.

Find an alternative if installing in a jeep.

This is probably the worst dash kit I've ever used. The tops of the brackets hit the small plastic cross brace on my dash board. Even test fitting without the receiver attached, they don't fit properly. The plastic is also extremely soft and warps with a small amount of pressure when fastening screws to the receiver. Finally, the location of the holes combined with the pioneer receiver prevent the screen of the receiver from sitting flush with the dash board. I'd opt for something different.

While the overall result was acceptable, the plastic seemed a bit flimsy. I'll have to examine the mtg. after a while in the summer heat to see if parts get warped or bowed. I would very much prefer a kit made from metal.

A little less than what I expected

These brackets are great but almost offer too many options. I had to adjust them a few times to get the flush look I was after. The instructions on these amounted to little more than "screw them in" and should be revised to offer more details referencing their respective placement in differing dash types. Also, the plastic option may be cheaper but feels less sturdy.

If you have a 2010 or 2006 Dodge Charger this kit is the one you need. It allows the trim piece to snap in place with no issues. Don't buy any other dodge kits they will not work.
