Does not fit
Luke from Peoria, AZ on 11/5/2020
2007 Jeep Liberty
Just purchased this dash kit to replace my stereo with the Kenwood DMX4707S. Glad I checked the fit before trying to install it. It doesn't fit over the faceplate. I really don't want to have to trim off pieces to make it fit. I'm hoping that there's a replacement that actually fits.

Great fit. Only problem was they moved the lighter socket to opposite site which put a strain on wire to reach it. Everything else snapped in place with no problem
Pros: everything lined up
Cons: move socket to other side

Shouldn't have to trim a new part to make things fit.
Crutchfield customer from Flagstaff, AZ on 5/14/2020

Made to fit Jeep Liberty perfect, but could not fit the stereo size it was designed for. Double Din standard is 100x180mm and this comes in at 100x177 which means my Pioneer deck would not fit without trimming it. Poor design, can't believe Crutchfield still offers it. Their service was great in trying a second one to see if there was any difference, but Metra needs do better.
Pros: Fit the vehicle great, seems like decent quality material.
Cons: Doesn't conform to Double Din standard and brackets for stereo are pretty flimsy.

This is certainly a well thought out product that complements the double DIN unit that I installed. The black, mat finish was great. I thought it might show up finger oils, but it didn't. It used the four factory clips and matched the opening just like the factory bezel.

2095 Jeep Liberty upgrade to Double Din.
Crutchfield customer from Maryville, TN on 8/13/2019
2005 Jeep Liberty
The dash kit provides a nice looking install. I was concerned that the opening appeared too large from to to bottom for the Sony 6.2" screen. Advisor said it should work fine so I went ahead with the install and it looks great. THere is about a 1/4" gap at the bottom but it looks good and is not visible unless you are in floorboard looking up. This dash kit switched the 12 v adapter from right to the left which is not an issue. There is suppose to be on screw on bottom center but the dash kit does not have a hole. I left the screw out and it works fine.
Pros: Looks nice. Flexible Easy install
Cons: Use old clips Missing screw hole

Very good kit. You have to play with the brackets a little to get it adjusted to fit just right. Instructions are decent, although a little vague on where to cut the piece of the dash to get the DIN unit to fit. All in all a very nice kit that makes the job complete.

The only real choice for this generation Liberty.
Crutchfield customer from Oaks, OK on 5/6/2019
2006 Jeep Liberty
This is probably the best of the limited choices for the Liberty. With that said there are a number of caveats to the kit. As other reviews have noted it does not properly fit some double din radios (it's about 1/8th too narrow). Be prepared to modify the kit to compensate. It also swaps the accessory outlet from the right to left hand side. The Plastic however appears to be good quality and should hold up well.
Pros: It almost fits the 06 Liberty.
Cons: Metra's design staff need to re-read ISO 7736 (defines Double DIN standards). This kit should have an opening of about 7 1/8th. It doesn't. Expect to grind/sand or cut this to fit.

After receiving the kit I noticed that the cigg lighter/ACC hole was on the opposite side as the original, it turned out that this was not a problem as the wiring reached the opposite side easily. Fitting at the top took a bit of filing the plastic on the sides of the square display hole as the lip going aft prevented it from snapping into place flush, once that was accomplished it fit great and looks like a factory installation. Additional cutting was required behind to facilitate the double din in place of the single din but it was plastic and simple and was able to leave enough for ample support. This is the second time I have used their kits and am very pleased with both as they really do make the installation look like factory. So far I did sons 2002 trail blazer and Daughters 2003 Jeep Liberty in the Jensen VX7528 GPS and the Metra kit for each and love em both.

There was no mention of the fact that there are two versions of this bezel. One with power jack on the left (bad spot, plugs interfere with 4wd shifter) as shown on the Crutchfield site, and another version, the no ashtray version with the plug on the right.
Pros: Fits reasonably well, looks better than dimpled original
Cons: Poor / wrong location of the power jack.

The panel fit well, had to do some minor cutting behind the panel as instructed to make a double DIN radio fit. The only complaint I have is the plastic pieces that come with the kit that mount to the radio are thick, and the mounting screws that came with the radio were not long enough. I purchased some longer screws to make it work.

Tried to install in my 04 jeep liberty with the new stereo. The screws that come with the mount are way too short. Havent been able to find screws that fit yet. Also there is a gap at the top and bottom when the stereo is in. Havent attempted to move the cigarette lighter yet. This cover has it on the opposite side than comes in the 04 liberty. Hopefully its easier to do than it has been to find screws

Looks good and it fit well. Nothing to complain about. Just a well molded piece of plastic that served its purpose. For my double din deck I did have to cut into the plastic of the car a little (as directed for a Jeep Liberty). But that depends on the depth and height of the back of the deck and not this.
Pros: This part of the process was easy to install.
Cons: Nothing really.

An amazing difference
Ken from Plainfield, IL on 10/30/2016
2007 Jeep Liberty
I was worried about the quality. It was great. The color is black and I had to paint it to match the factory silver. A can silver and a can of clear plastic paint and it painted up perfect. Actually looks better than stock. With a oscillating multi took the plastic cut like butter. The instructions show the first section to cut out but I also had to cut the top support for the vents, remove the metal support for the stock radio and the metal support bracket for the hazards switch. Then getting the stereo at the right depth took 5 or 6 tried to get it to match up. The factory radio mounts are curved and the Metra kit is straight up and down. Then of course the locks have to be broke to get the lighter plug out. Just silicone it into the new face plate. Fit and finish were perfect.
Pros: Fitment and quality. Couldn't have a double din radio without it
Cons: Time consuming and any color you want as long as it is black.

This Dash kit fit my car like a glove and it added the touch of new that my dashboard needed after years of weathering. The mounting brackets came with two different type of screws and no instructions. The Brackets where strong enough to hold my radio however it was difficult to find the right section of the radio to put the screws.
Pros: Great fit, great look
Cons: No Instructions on where to attach mounting brackets to the radio.

Nice Kit Overall, needs extra parts
SandstormFJ from denver, CO on 3/23/2016
2006 Jeep Liberty
This kit is a nice kit for the Liberty, but what I found when installing it was an issue that needs to be corrected. The kit tells you to use the screws that come with the receiver to attach the mounting bracket to the receiver housing. That would be great EXECPT the original receiver screws are NOT long enough!! I had to go to The hardware store to get longer screws. Not a big deal, but at the price of this kit you would think that they would have 1.) Tested their product to know that fact. 2.) Included longer screws after having done so. Just an FYI if purchasing this kit to do an install yourself. Again, not a major deal, but a tiny bit more thought that could have gone into the kit to make it perfect. The fit of the faceplate was excellent! The cigarette lighter was the toughest part. Removing it from the old faceplate took some time!!
Pros: Great fit on faceplate!
Cons: A little more thought could go into the kit. Include longer screws guys! They cost very little, but make the difference between getting the receiver installed or not.

Good, but be gental
TH from Avon By the Sea, NJ on 2/24/2016
Plastic is not durable. When replacing this with the stock trim, be very careful. Once installed, fits OK.
Pros: Looks good.
Cons: 1. Moving the light (power) was a bit of a struggle 2. Top plastic part is very thin, broke, but i was able to get a new one. 3. There is no hole to secure it to the bottom like the stock one was. It tapped a new one, but it would have been nice if it was already there.

Product challenging to configure. Also dashboard modifications for 2007 Liberty difficult. Instead, installed double din unit in Patriot. Dashboard modifications much easier. As it seems to be case with Crutchfield default instructions these days, vague and incomplete.
Pros: Non
Cons: Transferring clips and accessory power plug. Need to Drexel lots of behind dashboard material.

Looks nice.
Scott C from Connecticut on 12/28/2015
2005 Jeep Liberty
Looks nice, gives the Liberty and updated appearance. I used an Oscillating Multi-Tool with a moon shaped knife blade to make quick work of removing the plastic shelf for the factory radio. Four cuts and a tug with some pliers and it was out in minutes.
Pros: Color matches other trim in my 05 Sport. I like that the radio is supported by the factory mounting points and not the surround like a competing product. Makes lining things up a little harder, but it is better supported this way.
Cons: Curve of the panel is slightly off from the dash. Having to transfer the clips wasn't too hard. Transferring the cigar plug is a PITB. I don't think Jeep intended it to come out. I broke one of the push tabs on the socket and ended up gluing it in place.

With modification it fits great
ChrisB from North Carolina on 12/26/2015
2004 Jeep Liberty
It fits perfectly in my 2004 Jeep liberty sport after some serious cutting to make the radio fit. The cutting was shown in the manual, however even with good sharp tools it took about an hour to cut it. Once that section was removed the rest of the installation was easily assembled back together and looks like a factory job.
Pros: Adds lots of features that the original factory radio did not have. Comes with new dash plate to so no modification is needed on the plate.
Cons: Instructions could have been more detailed. Modification of factory housing in back of the radio to give room for a taller radio. Cigarette lighter removal from old housing was a pain I had to search google to figure out how to remove it.

Good and Bad

So this fits great! it looks like its stock even though its a bit more flimsy. The issue that I really encountered and still worry about is the months that are provided. These mounts are plastic and do not feel secure. Since I don't have any other choice they have to due, but at least it looks great.
Pros: Looks stock and the plastic is the perfect color.
Cons: The mounts that come with it are soft and don't feel very strong and sturdy. I am expecting these to break eventually but should be easy enough to fix when that happens.
