Mitsubishi OS kit doesn't fit standard Pioneer

The only way to use this mounting bracket in a 2017 Outlander Sport is by not using the bezel. The bezel is not wide enough to accommodate the Pioneer DMH-1770NEX. I spoke to Crutchfield Tech Support, who thought that perhaps the bracket had a manufacturing defect. Crutchfield sent a new bracket to me, the replacement doesn't fit either. It appears that the bezel opening is about 2mm or so too narrow to fit properly.

Bad fit for 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

*Disclaimer: this is a review specifically for 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport models* This bracket was a time consuming hassle for me. I installed it to my receiver, popped it into the dash, then put the paneling back on. Problem: it stuck out awkwardly. I took it out, tried several times to get it to fit right, and finally went to bed exhausted and irritated to no avail. Next day. I decide to trim the front part off a good 3/4" to allow for the receiver to sit further back. At long last it fit. I do not know why Crutchfield sends this mounting bracket for 2014 Outlander Sports. I even looked up the kit and it clearly says 2015 and up models. So since I am a DIYer with time and a dermal, it worked out, but barely.

It did exactly what I needed it to do and fit perfectly into the OEM radio opening of a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. I'm glad I chose the gloss finish, as it complimented the trim of the JVC receiver I was installing.

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

I was replacing an aftermarket receiver the previous owner had installed. They used Metra Kit 99-7014B so I did not need to use this kit to replace the receiver. The kit is built solid, easy to assemble, and fit the factory installation points very well.

Though I am happy with the radio, the fit with this is not what I expected. There is a significant gap at the bottom of the radio to cars dash molding I was told I would need a 'filler' to resolve
