Metra 95-7504 Dash Kit
James from Baltimore, MD on 1/3/2022
2008 Mazda Mazdaspeed3
Garbage. Plastic does not match dash at all, and the included faceplate has huge gaps on every side, as seen in the picture. Not going to even try to install it in my car, as I don't want my car to look this cheap. Wish Crutchfield sold useable dash kits, now I have to order a kit elsewhere and pay more shipping
Pros: none
Cons: Cheap plastic with poor fitment

Subpar quality

2007 Mazda 3
Poor quality Metra needs to really get with it worst instructions ever and the screws with the kit and with the stereo itself were barely long enough. The frame pops out on one side and doesn't sit flush.
Pros: Does the job I suppose.
Cons: Poor quality Terrible Instructions Bad fit wrong hardware.

It fits, but the front clip-cover has a slight warp in the bottom right, so I had to figure out how to get it to not rattle. I really wish the plastic storage piece that gets installed up top wasn't a high-gloss finish because it refracts the light when it hits. Otherwise, it holds the radio!
Pros: The parts came with it
Cons: Could use some slightly clearer instructions Upper storage compartment is high-gloss reflective

Well, it works. I wish it was able to retain the factory display above the radio, but I was unable to figure out a good way to get that to fit. It seems the replacement storage pocket is your only option, which seems kinda lame.
Pros: Allows you to install the aftermarket receiver in your factory location. Easy enough to figure out.
Cons: Fitment is a bit questionable, and I wonder if quality at Metra isn't slipping a bit. I mean, it doesn't look horrible, but the description of "OEM like finish" is misleading. If I had bought a new car with a trim like this, I'd really be questioning where else corners were cut. Also, you lose the display above the radio with this kit, unfortunately.

Radio fits nicely in the kit, the kit does not fit perfectly into the dash though. The bottom clips are loose making the climate control section underneath wiggle about 1/4 inch in either direction. As a perfectionist who needs a clean install to be happy I could only give 3 stars. Besides that it is a 5 star product.
Pros: Radio fits snugly into kit.
Cons: Bottom clips are loose, causing the climate control to wiggle

Factory look and fit
Tom from Mohrsville, PA on 12/30/2018
2006 Mazda 3
Worked as expected. Plastic could be thicker for durability. Instructions were misleading. The factory unit used felt padding to reduce or eliminate vibration noises at key mounting spots. It would be nice if this kit included adhesive felt strips for this purpose. The factory unit uses a separate display (for Audio unit, clock, computer & climate info) which I wanted to preserve for the climate display info (fan speed, interior/AMB temperature, etc). The kit allows for this and includes brackets to mount the display to the dash but the instructions are very confusing and lack detail. Plus, in the "Dash Disassembly" section, they instruct you to remove the display trim ring from the display trim panel, which shouldn't be the case if you are keeping the existing factory display. Everything seems to fit fine but It would be better if the main panel had a tab at the bottom to align into the climate bezel below like the factory unit does.
Pros: Good Price
Cons: Could be a little more durable. Instructions misleading

Not bad, but looks cheap in my dash
Martin from Folsom, CA on 12/4/2018
2006 Mazda 3
Not bad. It's an easy to use kit, but it doesn't look that great. It looks kind of cheap and "after market". because the plastic is a very dull black and the rest of the factory dash is a shiny black along with the Kenwood stereo's screen and faceplate. So the dull flat black plastic looks out of place on the dash. Overall great proce for what you get and a good product, easy to use and install, but lacks a little on appearance.

Fit and finish are excellent.
Crutchfield customer from Easton, PA on 3/28/2018
2008 Mazda 3
I can't give more than three stars due to the poorly written instructions and if the fit and finish wasn't as nice as it was, I'd give less. The pictures are small and in some cases worthless. I have automatic HVAC controls so I was able to retain the factory audio display vs. using the pocket. The picture associated with the instructions stating to mount the brackets provided with the dash kit to the display only showed a picture of the open cavity in the dash referencing what screws are used to attach the completed assembly. I know I can be dense at times but it was frustrating trying to figure out their correct orientation and some four letter words were involved. Crutchfield would be smart to include a supplement instruction manual so you could use the Metra manual as fire starter. And don't even think of calling Metra customer service. I tried and the phone never rang, it went straight to music like I was on hold. I called on a Saturday afternoon, so I have no idea if the offices were closed or if I was actually in some queue waiting for a person to pick up.
Pros: Fit and finish
Cons: Instructions, instructions, instructions. They are worthless!

.....the directions Suck!! It might be best to not even look at the directions and figure it out for yourself because they fail to mention such relative information such as which screws to use where, which components are called what and which parts aren't even used which will really agitate you because assembly makes no sense. It looks great when done but some poor soul at Crutchfield needs to write some general illustrated directions to supplement the company's poor effort. A how to video series would be even more spiffy! Or maybe I'm just a bonehead, who knows?
Pros: Clean, tight fit for all components
Cons: The directions Suck!!

Fits the Mazda 3, but not all stereos.
Jason from Mill Creek, WA on 2/6/2017
2007 Mazda 3
Like other reviewers, I had two problems with this dash kit: 1) it didn't secure at all to the lower climate controls, so I had to resort to double-sided tape and weather stripping to get things to stop moving around. 2) the stereo sat a good 1/2" recessed, making the controls hard to reach. The end of the volume knob was flush with the sides. Not a problem for some stereos, but my Sony XAV-AX100 was not a good fit. I'll be looking elsewhere to find another kit given a big reason I picked this stereo was the volume knob.
Pros: Goes well with the Mazda 3 interior. Looks nice.
Cons: Stereo sits recessed 1/2". Doesn't latch to climate control panel, requiring MacGyver methods to secure.

FIts perfectly in the dash. The beauty clips that go on last are kind of out of whack on the left side. I tried trimming about 1mm off of the plastic clip, but it's still poking out a little bit, but I can live with it.

Cons: Feels like cheap plastic, and the measurements for the cutout could be a tad better.

The finish on this product is pretty close to the factory dash. Which is nice. The fit is also very good. Although the part that fills in the factory center console display is far from perfect. Likely due to the molding process, not the actual part itself. A little super glue and all was well.
Pros: Simple and effective.
Cons: Slight molding imperfection.

Dash kit tip
Mazda3er from Arlington tx on 4/22/2016
2006 Mazda 3
The finish it fine, the fit... Not so much. I do have a tip... On the bottom of the dash kit, u will notice that it is missing three tabs to hold the A/c control panel I place and tight. I placed a weather stripping on the location of the three tabs, it adds pressure and makes the install look great. the A/C panel will fit nice and tight. But the best thing of buying from Crutchfield.... The dash kit was free and the shipping was free!!! I was able to buy a better radio, dash kit and wiring kit for the same price of lower models radio at car toys!!
Pros: It was free with purchase of radio
Cons: Not the best fit... But us Mazda 3ers don't have much choice

Hard to turn volume nob
Milton from ft worth, TX on 3/6/2016
2009 Mazda 3
I purchased this kit along with a Kenwood Excelon DNX692. I had the kit and radio professionally installed. There was limited ability to adjust the radio in or out, so the volume dial, witch is close to the edge of the radio and close to the bezel, only stuck out half way making the volume dial difficult to turn. There was also noticeably wider gap around the kit and the dash.
Pros: Matches dash plastic color and texture.
Cons: May not be a good fit with all radios.

DFlem from Arkansas on 10/20/2015

Overall, looks great, but the instructions could have been clearer. Also, it would have been great if parts would snap into place--I battled with this for at least 30 minutes, as pieces would fall off as I was trying to "attach" another piece or place it on the stereo itself.

Cons: Difficult to assemble/keep assembled during install

Good fit '06 Mazda3
Clint from Massachusetts on 7/19/2015
2006 Mazda 3
All pieces go together very easily and pop into place with no problem. The lower piece fits a Double DIN perfectly and the finish is a close match to the black plastic of the dash. The upper piece which is a pocket meant to replace the OEM upper LCD display is a bit sloppier. Its tabs do not hold tightly to the OEM trim piece but it still looks pretty good, certainly fine on my 9-year-old car. If you are very particular, a couple dabs of super glue would help.
Pros: Easy assembly
Cons: Upper piece is imprecisely fitted

Instruction Manual Mud...for Mazda 3'07
Edwin from California on 1/1/2015
The kit for the '07 Mazda3 the instruction manual needs to be rewritten and the illustration can be much better. Simple kit but poorly written and bad illustration. The instructions need to be broken down further to better illustrate the procedure in assembling the kit.
Pros: Wiring harness good. Main panel kit was a good fit. However the instruction manual to put the stereo panels in was badly illustrated!
Cons: On the '07 Mazda 3 the recess pocket to replace the climate control display is really a bad fit, will definitely break some fasteners on the trim!!! The replacement pocket is not needed. You can still use the factory climate control display which is attached on top of the factory radio by removing a couple of screws, and using the kit's adapter to refasten the climate control display back into the dash, don't forget to reattach the wiring harness back onto the climate control display.

While the main lower part of the double din trim ring fit perfectly, the upper part, that was supposed to cover a hole left from removing the original display (clock, radio, or cd), did not fit at all. I ended up having to patch the existing trim with black duct tape. If it were not free with the radio, I would have sent it back.

Good, but required a little modification/molding
DanM from Boston, MA on 12/28/2012
2009 Mazda 3
This kit blends very nicely with the original Mazda 3 trim and provides an extra storage recess where the original orange lcd display was located with the original unit. My only gripe is that the plastic piece that goes directly around the head unit left a noticable gap between the larger plastic piece of the kit in which it fits. This was due to the lengthwise portions being bowed inwardly, likely due to issues with the injection molding. This also caused the clips to not properly engage with the larger portion of the kit. To remedy this, I initially used a hair dryer on the hottest setting and applied some force near the corners to straighten the sections up. I still had issues with the clips not properly latching, so I (gently) bent them outwardly a bit while carefully applying some heat from a butane torch. After these modifications, the unit fits and looks great. Overall, I am very pleased and can look past the required modification in view of this kit being included free from Crutchfield with my head unit.
Pros: Integrates nicely with original interior
Cons: Required some bending/remolding to get pieces to fit together correctly.

Dont bother
EricW from San Dimas, Ca on 9/14/2010
Installed this kit into a 2004 Mazda 3 with a Pioneer navi unit. Plastic is very cheap and looks horrible installed in car. The top and bottom LCD replacement cup bows in the middle, and will not seat properly. The factory radio has three clips on the top of the curved plastic face plate for the carbon fiber trim to secure into. The metra kit only has one, which causes the cheap kit to sag down where there should be a clip. The kit is secured by clips at the bottom which do not stay seated into the dash and I am constantly pushing the radio back into the dash. Called metra to see what the problem was and they insisted there was no problem and told me I needed to send in pictures to prove it. I have had a lot more luck with other kits!!! Do not waste your time.

Good Kit
Donnie from Morris, AL on 5/29/2010
2008 Mazda 3
I installed a new JVC unit in my 2008 Mazda 3i Touring using this kit. The kit is a good kit overall, but I would only recommend if you do not plan to use the LCD replacement tray that comes with the kit. That part is very cheap looking and I would not want it front and center on my dash. The kit does include the clips needed to remove the lcd screen from the factory stereo and reinstall it so that you don't have to use the replacement tray. I did it that way because I wanted to keep my outside temp reading on the lcd. The only problem is that you lose the ability to set the clock on the factory lcd screen. You can overcome that by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery at noon or midnight, or just learn to ignore the clock. The only other issue with the kit is that there is about a 1/32 inch gap at the top left side where it meets the dash. It's barely noticable but I can see it. I also had to do some minor trimming of the plastic clips to get the lcd screen to the exact right position. I'm satisfied with the kit overall. It's probably the best one out there for the Mazda 3.

I suggest using the 2 pieces included with the kit labeled "E" in the instruction manual to mount the LCD to the dash. It took me an hour to find out how the heck I could mount the LCD to the dash but I use the same screw holes that the top dash piece where the vents are located screws in. I had to buy 2 custom metric screws with washers so I could screw the pieces onto the LCD unit to hold it in place, but after that, everything else fit!
