This kit was a perfect fit for the dash opening. I did need to trim about 3/16" off the inside lip of the opening so the radio would sit more flush with the front edge and not recessed. The radio installed had a row of buttons on the left and before the trimming, it was hard to push the buttons because they sat back too far!

Does not fit around radio

Would not fit around the radio. The corners are rounded make it so it will not fit on a radio with more square corners. Crutchfield customer support told me that they can resend the same item as this one "may be mishapen". I told them not to bother as it isnt mishapen, its made that way. They told me they have no other options and that i am SOL.

Horrible the supplied screws would not secure the plastic pieces to the side of the radio. Its like they were not long enough even the supplied screws from Crutchfield would not work. Complete pain i do not recommend.

Fits well and looks nice but, like others, I wish it wasn't plastic. Screws (sold separately) for this kit are too short, and have to bend the plastic in order to sit well in the head unit I bought.

This dash kit (as well as the Metra harness) worked perfectly in my son's '01 Accord. The double DIN kit is noticeably sturdier than the standard mounts I've installed in the past. I realize, if a thief wants your radio bad enough, they'll get it. This kit might make them work a little harder, lol

Perfect match for my new Pioneer stereo and my car. Simple assemble and install. Only issue is the mounting tabs, that are steel in the original equipment radio, are made of plastic in this kit. Feels just a little flimsy. However, one it's all buttoned up, it seems to work OK. Time will tell.

Bought this to install a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS in a '01 Accord. Fits the car perfectly - mounting was effortless.
Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to.
Cons: The bezel that surrounds the face plate of the Pioneer AVH-X2700BS has rounded corners while the corners of the deck face plate are square. It fits - but it takes a little finesse to get it centered properly. This is a minor issue though - I'd buy another of these if I needed to do the same install again.

The dash kit fit the stereo pretty well, and looked great once installed. My only concern is that the side brackets fit into the faceplate with some pretty thin plastic connectors. It feels cheap. It hope it lasts.

Does not work with the Pioneer AVH-4600BT I purchased. Faceplate fits too tightly and does not allow movement of the stereo front for CD/DVD loading.

This came with my pioneer 8500BHS, and the trim plate would not even fit around the head unit. It was a complete mismatch, I see no way to use the trim plate. No wonder it was free.

I was skeptical when I found out Crutchfield was sending all the installation accessories for free. I assumed they would be cheep and unusable. Nothing could be further from the truth. The wiring adapters all worked perfectly and the "receiver kit" fit perfectly. Since it was a "gift horse" I hate to even mention this, but as it may help others, I will. The screws that came with the Sony receiver were very short (so as not to intrude into the electronics). The thickness of the side mounts on the receiver kits meant that the screws would not work. So I did have to go to the hardware store and purchase longer screws. But, in their defense, that is something neither Crutchfield nor the manufacturer of the receiver kit can anticipate for every receiver their kit might be used for. Also had to buy some solder-less connectors. Not a big deal but something you should know.
Pros: Perfect fit. FREE.
Cons: Might have to purchase additional hardware to mount the receiver.

Cons: I would be lying if I said I was completely satisfied with a kit that is made out of plastic. I can understand the bezel being plastic, but the brackets themselves. The brackets play an important role of keeping the radio secure. I ended up placing the screw where there was the most plastic. The screw holes that are next to each other that are divided by a thin line of plastic, I did not use. I just envisioned tightening the screw and that fine line of plastic would begin to crack.

This saved me SOOOO much work fitting my new stereo into my 2002 Accord. Fit perfectly, and was easy to use. Made this install absolutely look professional. And for free? Crutchfield ROCKS to give these out when you purchase a head unit. I would have had a heck of a time getting my head unit to fit in properly without this.
Pros: Looks great, fit perfectly and saved me from having to bust out the Dremel for another half-assed install which never looks quite right... This time it looks like the stereo was meant to be there - and all I had to do was snap it together and screw it in! This is a product with quality construction. Quite thick and should be relatively strong.
Cons: I'm not sure this is really a con, so much as common sense... but it is plastic, so you'll want to be careful not to tighten the screws so hard it cracks the plastic. The good news is that the plastic is quite thick, so if you're paying attention (like you should be anyway!) that would probably be very hard to accidentally do. I managed not to, and that's the kind of thing I always do.

Trim piece around radio didn't fit my AVP-P440BH. It would not allow the faceplate to motor open for access to CDs and DVDs. I had to use the trim ring supplied with the radio. They should use metal brackets instead of plastic.

This is an all plastic mount but it fits perfectly for my 2002 Honda Accord and was provided free with my radio purchase. The bezel also floats from side to side a little to ensure an easy alignment with your vehicle trim.

Installation kit did not fit 1998 Honda Accord EX even though the website said it would. It wouldn't fit on the head unit either due to the fact that the screw holes did not line up. I ended up using the factory bracket instead and was still able to install the double DIN unit. Maybe it might be best to not market the Metra installtion kit as a "one size fits all".

The front plate required significant trimming (i.e., hacksaw or dremel) in order to fit the Clarion double-DIN head unit, and I couldn't make it fit properly without compromising the strength. And the plastic brackets wouldn't hold the weight of the head unit without flexing. I wound up discarding all of the components and reusing the Honda factory bracket. This left an unsightly 1/4 inch gap all the way around the head unit which I then sealed with foam insulation tape, but it's still better than the results I was getting with the "installation kit."

This fits the car wonderfully. However, when I tried to put it on the receiver I purchased it wouldn't fit. I was installing the Clarion CX609. The outside corners of the face of the head unit are square. The inside corners of this piece are round. The square peg (Head unit) wouldn't fit into the round hole (this piece). A little work with a file in those inside corners though, and it fit like a glove. Now that I have that fixed, I am extremely happy with this product!

For its price, this mounting kit is most certainly a smart buy. I felt like some of the pieces coming off of the side were flimsy (as demonstrated when after 2 weeks one of the mounts snapped off) but, other than that, it has held up well and makes my Pioneer AVH P- 3200DVD look very nice in my 2002 accord ex.
