Better than Beat Sonic

This was a free kit that Crutchfield included with my stereo purchase. I also purchased an install kit by Beat Sonic because owner reviews stated the Beat Sonic install kit matched the dash exactly for double DIN stereos. So I had two that I could compare and contrast and use the best one. The Beat Sonic kit was $100, and I am so sorry I bought it. The Metra kit is exactly the same color and texture as the Beat Sonic and *nearly* an exact match with my 20-year-old Lexus. There is more than likely a bit of fading with the original OEM plastic in that time. Where the Metra kit beats the Beat Sonic is in overall fit with my Sony XAV-AX100. The Beat Sonic leaves a small gap around the head unit, which is unsightly and unacceptable. The Metra kit fits precisely. The Metra kit features plastic side plates, whereas the Beat Sonic features metal side plates, which replicates OEM; however, the plastic plates are holding the head unit perfectly well. So if you're looking for a head unit in an LS400, do not get the Beat Sonic dash kit (the Beat Sonic wiring harness cannot be beaten though!).

It looks good and fits well.
Pros: Eeasy installation
Cons: I think it needs a better connection to the metal attach bracket that came off the factory radio. It makes me feel like it 's not held in place sufficiently in a structural way.
