My experience. the product is just ok. The radio frame parts appeared to be packaged fine. The radio frame part was damaged at the lower left corner by the car vent. Was able to still use the frame but had to slightly straighten the plastic corner to fit. The assembly instructions were not ideal for mounting brackets to the radio. Was confused on what screws to use.. factory or supplied screws? Was able to figure out by trial/ error.

Cheap plastic, poor fit

Flimsy plastic. And it doesn't even come with the cheap fasteners- you have to take those off your old radio mount and move them to this one. In addition, there's no way to attach the mount directly to the radio body as the factory radio does- meaning you have to get the radio in place in the car, bolted in, then pop this on tip. Except then you see that the opening is bigger than the radio faceplate and there's a tiny gap all the way around. To be fair, not sure if that's a problem with the head unit or the mount, but being able to attach this face plate to the radio before popping it into the car would have let me at least align it better. On top of all that, the cheap plastic broke and since there are no other options for my 2016 Rav4, I have to buy it again. I would have loved to pay a little more for quality- something sturdy and metal from the start rather than having to buy this cheap junk twice.

It's all plastic except for the screws. It fits with some messing around to find the sweet spot in the mounting holes. Thankfully, it has lots of options so it's 100% doable.

Not quite up to Crutchfield standards

A little below Crutchfield standards, rather flimsy construction and color doesn't quite match up, also few gaps around screen. Instructions left a little guesswork for both me and the Crutchfield tech as to which screw holes lined up the best. Tightening the bolts deforms the plastic and looks like it might break any minute (but it hasn't yet). Time will tell if it holds, starts to rattle/shift or breaks.

Super simple to install and fits perfectly. Save the barbed tabs from your original dash piece, they fit onto this kit.

This looks great in my RAV4 2017. You can't even tell that it's a replacement piece. I love it. If you need a new piece for your radio this is the one to get. Color matches perfect and goes with almost any color. Easy install and sits flush with the card no gaps what's so ever.

Not so great for 2017 Rav4.

While this does fit my 2017 RAV4, the brackets seem a little flimsy. Just use the ones from the factory stereo. The dash piece does not allow for the face to open for cd's or DVD's. I will trim it a bit to see if that works.

Perfect color and fit

It fit perfectly in my 2014 RAV4 after the factory unit died. The color matched prefect with the other black and silver accents in the car. The only thing that I though was wrong was the piece that goes around the actual unit. It was really loose but it was my fault since I forgot to remove the clips on the old factory piece and transfer it to the new one. Once I did that it snapped tightly in place.

Good wiring harness kept all factory controls. Could use a little better detail to instructions. The mounting brackets are very flimsy though. Radio bounces around when you hit bumps.

Seems fine, matches the color well on our RAV4. This piece was backordered, though, so we ended up buying a different Dash Kit so we could install our receiver. The other Dash Kit we ordered came with metal brackets that hold the receiver in place that definitely seem more sturdy than this kit's plastic brackets, but again, we didn't actually use this, so maybe it's completely fine.

I was disappointed

This works, but all the mounting brackets are plastic and require that you you the clip from the factory radio. In addition, the color match is not on with the dash and it feels pretty cheap overall. After installing this and not liking it I ordered the Scosche mount and it was much nicer. Color match was spot on and the brackets are metal. I will not be returning this because it is open and I am not even sure I can find every part it came with, but I won't order Metra again. Sorry I spent and wasted the money on it.

The color of the frame didn't really match with the charcoal or black plastics my 2018 Rav4. The plastic bent really easily when I tried to screw in the unit. Had to push on the ends of the plastic to prevent it from moving.

Fit is excellent, color is great. Mounting brackets are a little soft

Dash bezel is a good match for the OEM dash color, but the mounting brackets that attach to the radio are soft plastic that "give" when the screws are tightened, even moderately. I would have preferred spending a few dollars more for the mounting brackets to be a stiffer polymer, or even metal. It wasn't a big deal, since the Sony radio I installed weighs a few ounces, compared to the pounds that the OEM radio weighed.

Did what it's supposed to do, I didn't like assembling it though. Small screws to attach 4 legs. Also when tightening in car I found its best to hold legs in place as you tighten the bolts. None of this is a deal breaker though. Unit looks factory and works well with radio

Poor Alignment in RAV4

Easy install. Straight forward instructions. Solid. But the finished product does not seem well lined up. The unit is both off angle and recessed. I tried to adjust it to fix, but could not. It's enough to bug me every time I drive but not enough for me to bother fixing it.

Does not match the 2018 Hybrid Rav4. It is light gray where the rest of the dash is off black. In addition it is flimsy and the headunit's motorized screen would get stuck on it. Bought a new one online with much better results.

This fits perfectly in my 2018 Toyota RAV4. The color of the unit seems to look good along side the darker plastic of my dash. I had a little difficulty mounting my stereo because I didn't get one of the brackets that mounts to the side of the stereo aligned properly, so I had to loosen the screws and readjust it after the harness wires were all connected. Once I got the side piece on properly it fit perfectly. This kit requires that you pull part of the clips from your factory radio off and install on this kit. It would have been nice if those were also included.

Good and convenient item! Only complaint is that its made out of plastic. Very scary when screwing the product into the car, of course you don't screw it on too tight but when you do it starts bending the kit and I was thinking if it was going to be able to hold the weight of the stereo. Overall cheap and good.
