This is a great buy. I installed a seven inch radio but with some problems First some of the instruction were not clear. And for the life of me I can't instal the trim around the radio face. I am installing a 7 inch radio and the trim just will not fit.

Scratched.

Scratch on the face of the panel. Not Crutchfield's fault. They took care of it, great customer service!!!!!!! This is not my first car stereo install, by a long shot, but it was the most complicated, by far. Probably because of the double-DIN stereo, I'm used to the metal 1/2 DIN sleeve that you secure inside the radio trim panel. Again, not Crutchfield's fault.

Worst product ever.

Worst design ever. Had to snap plastic over plastic for my application. The entire wiring, including back up camera and taking center console apart, too about 30 min. Putting this thing together took about 2 hours. Ruined my entire experience. I used to love Crutchfield but will never use them again for recommending this product.

As always with Crutchfield, they provided the exact part I needed from Metra. The kit came with everything you could need for 1 or 2 DIN installation. I had to do a simple cut on the kit to fit a 2 DIN head unit, but still was simple enough. Can't tell the difference from the original part.

Poor quality and poor fit. The six clips that hold this are very flimsy and easy to break plastic compared to the stiff metal on factory dash. On factory radio there are 2 metal angles attached to the sides of the radio itself that attach to the metal sub frame of the dash and support the weight of the radio and in turn support the dash cover. On this dash kit there is not option to reuse these metal angles or a substitute way of supporting the weight of the radio. This results in the dash kit sagging due to the fact that the flimsy plastic clips support most of the weight of the radio. The sagging wouldn't be such a problem except it causes the opening for the vents to be slightly larger causing the vent to not clip in anymore. In addition, there are 2 screws that hold the bottom of this dash kit. On factory cover, the point where the screws attach sit flush with the sub frame. On the kit there is a gap. When the screws are tightened, it pulls this gap closed but in turn pulls the entire dash kit down adding to the sagging that I mentioned previous. And to add one more issue, the bezel piece that goes around the radio face was twisted out of shape. In my effort to twist it into place while installing, one of the clips on it broke off. Due to the twist and the lack of one clip, it doesn't sit perfectly flush with the face of the dash.

the finish is great, and the fit was BAD! i had to files down the square where the AC button was cuz it was stuck pushing it in. the android head doesnt fit well at all and just kinda hangs un the back. the vents in the center are barely usable now as it kinda just falls out. i think i just got a bad one. you mileage may vary

Aftermarket with OEM Look and Feel

I used this product to install a JVC double DIN CD player in an 2009 ford focus. The fit and finish was great with a factory look and feel.

Good fit

Fit is very good. There is a small gap in the bezel that surrounds the radio. The attachment clips are flimsy and could break if you removed the frame. Once installed, the piece looks great. Instruction from Crutchfield allowed me to save over $300 in installation cost.

It was a real pain to get the stock part out but the new parts work well. Not a perfect fit though. It is just slightly off on the bottom but for the price it wont be perfect.

Loose Fit

Overall the fit was good, however: the plastic mounting clips at the base didn't grab and hold like the ones that came with the car. The screws at the base are whats holding it in place. The surface of the Ford Focus In-dash Receiver Kit, has a ruff feel to it, unlike the polished smooth feel of the one that came with the car.

Kit arrived as scheduled, installation was fairly easy, fits fairly well (a few gaps, such as under the middle air vent) a few scuffs on the front face and the pocket. Other than that, good buy.

IT works

This was my only option to add after market parts to my car. Everything fits nicely into this dash kit. However, it scratches if you blow on it which is awful. It does install fairly easy for a first time dash install. The air vents don't fit in they snap and semi lock but that's it. Most of the dash even with the arrow snap pieces its still semi loose fitting. In order to use the metal sleeve that comes with a cd player you have to do some modification to it and the kit itself (cutting, come grinding) otherwise you have to use the built in plastic mounts which are impossible to remove without taking the dash a apart. Not to mention the cd player is recessed quit a bit... Still a good solution.
