Didnt fit
Steve from Knoxville, TN on 2/4/2023
I gave 2 stars because I was able to modify it to work. But it was the wrong size and nobody seems to have one that fits. Schosche unit the same problem. About a quarter inch too tall. I wound up cutting 1/4"-1/2" off the bottom to get the top and sides to sit flush. The clips don't line up this way so I have it taped in now, intending to install the cabinet magnet fasteners to make the faceplate accessible without gluing it down. Crutchfield refunded me the price to try the schosche version which ultimately did not work, so this review is on the unit not their customer service. Crutchfield customer service is the best I've ever seen. They took care in helping to understand the problem and gave the best solution they could offer. Being there are no other options for my truck I'm happy to have this be able to work.
Pros: Crutchfield customer service is awesome You can modify it to make it fit No other options for my truck with the dual climate control lcd display
Cons: It's too tall. Perhaps a bad production mold You have to modify it to make it fit in the space

Metra 99-7606 Dash Kit
Crutchfield customer from Largo, FL on 10/10/2022
2006 Nissan Titan
Does not fit at all in my 06 titan. Tried without the radio in and trimmed the bits that were hanging up and it still is just not the right fit. Looks like it doesn't make the curve needed. Talked to tech support and they said it should fit. Obviously it should fit and I see some do and some dont. Maybe I just got one that was molded odd but im not gunna crack my bezel to try and force it. I'm willing to send this one back and try a different one if Crutchfield is willing. Not really happy with have tape holding everything together for the money spent.

very poor fittment on 2006 Armada SE does not line up tried every which way. Crutchfield should be ashamed of providing this kit as a recommended install kit. Only reason not returning is because i heavily modified and trimmed to see if I could get to lay even and then use adhesive but no go. going in different direction. I will be taking a gamble and trying my luck on a Scosche NN1453B instead. I'll never consider Metra ever again.

Kit is good..alignment is about 99% there. Overall looks good in my 2007 Arnada
Pros: Price, color match, cut outs are exact.
Cons: Alignment at the top of the kit where it connects into the dash is off..installer tried every way to get it to sit flush but it won't.but it is raised very little.

Easy to install however wish it match the brush silver look of the original finish. Note, before installing to vehicle, knobs didn't have clearance and sticking however after installing to the dash, push the knobs out and works fine.
Pros: Great price. Crutchfield support!
Cons: Color match. Fit and Finish.

Awesome Product

2006 Nissan Titan
Great product. Nice fit in my 06 Titan Crew Can LE. Color matched the dash well and it was a little snug to get it but that was due to my alpine stereo being a little too long in the back. Overall, highly recommend!!!!
Pros: Quality product
Cons: None

Great for the money

2006 Nissan Titan
It may not be PERFECT, but pretty close. Good fit up, just not great. The surfaces aren't quite flush, the color isn't quite spot-on, but overall it's pretty good. And for the price tag it's fantastic.
Pros: Easy and cheap
Cons: Not quite flush, color a bit off.

Inexpensive
Michael from Minneola, FL on 5/25/2018
2006 Nissan Titan
I understand that selection being what it is, I can't really be too picky. But I do have two small complaints. First, I wish there was an option of the brushed stainless face that was on my original, and that matches my truck's gear shift cowling. Second, if you install a double din, dvd head unit, the heavy weight forces the entire face of the new facia to bow outward, so it won't sit flush on the sides. But, I have since installed a digital media only unit (much lighter) and bought brushed stainless decals to apply to the facia as well as the gear shifter cowling. It's a decent work-around.
Pros: Only option available, inexpensive
Cons: Has trouble with the weight of a dvd head unit

Its just OK
ZachVW from Nevada on 1/6/2016
2006 Nissan Armada
The product looks nice and installation was fairly simple but a bit tricky with a Double DIN stereo mounted to it. (I had to set the parking brake and put the truck in drive to move the shifter out of the way.) The instructions were good and easy to follow. It is a reasonable (not perfect) match for the interior of my 2006 Nissan Armada. (Graphite/Brown interior) It is a bit flimsy especially when a Double DIN stereo is mounted to it. Unlike the factory stereo, the afermarket stereo is secured directly to this panel by way of some plastic mounting brackets and it doesn't seem very sturdy. There is slight bowing in the faceplate insert as well. I would have been willing to pay more for a nicer dash kit (If one were available).
Pros: OK color match/appearance easy installation Inexpensive Pretty much your only option
Cons: All plastic. Flimsy when mounted to a Double DIN stereo (but it's still holding)

Why is our only option for aftermarket solutions so cheap?
Justin from Phoenix, AZ on 4/20/2014
2006 Nissan Armada
Everything everyone already says is totally 100% correct. Color is not perfect, fitment is not perfect, construction is not perfect, installation is a pain. Color = There is a registry of vehicle paint codes, why is it so hard to look that up and paint your product the correct color Metra? Fitment = I thought you guys at Metra had a test bench or something that you used to model and test these, why is the fitment so hit and miss Metra? Construction = I'm pretty sure that we are in 2014 right now and that there are more varieties of plastic available for a manufacturer to use than there was in the 1970's. Why is the plastic that you use so cheap and horrible that it arrives cracked and damaged Metra? Why is it so flimsy that multiple people complain of it bending and warping Metra? Do you not do quality control and customer polling of your products Metra? Construction = Is it really that hard to use a denser or stiffer plastic? Or maybe just have a few pieces of metal to support it? Or, here's an idea Metra, have a bracket that mounts the stereo actually mount to the huge piece of sturdy metal that is in the dash instead of the cheap plastic that you sent me. Installation = Wow, guys. You not only want me to deal with all of these other issues, but now you also want me to chop and shave pieces and corners and parts and glue things and bend things and push metal clips onto not too correctly sized tabs? Installing this really felt reminiscent of making little plastic model cars
Pros: It lets you have a double DIN or single DIN in place of the factory stereo. If it does come damaged, Crutchfield will graciously send you a replacement!
Cons: It is an absolute nightmare to install. Get out you exacto knife, pliers, pick, super glue, and a huge can of patience, you'll need it!

Color does not match
KevinW from Annapois, MD on 6/15/2012
I read over the reviews before purchasing, and saw a lot of reviews saying the color does not match the original paneling of the vehicle. I decided to go ahead and purchase the product anyway and it does not match at all!!
Pros: fast delivery
Cons: does not match color of inside paneling

Decent, but not great product
John from Tampa Bay, FL on 1/27/2012
2006 Nissan Armada
Fit the vehicle and the double din unit decently. Wish the plastic was either a little thicker or braced better between the upper and lower halves since the head unit for Nissan installation requires attachment to the adapter instead of the OEM mounting point. Also wish there was an option for a matching brushed aluminum color/coating to match the option available on the Nissan Armada.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Not stiff enough, flexing when using heavier head units causes seams between adapter and vehicle to not line up completely.

Not worth the money
Robert from Killeen, TX. on 6/13/2008
Had ordered this kit for a 2007 Titian. The knob holes would not fit. Used a dremal to make them fit. The control box for the ACC. on back did not fit right. Suggest that Crutchfield send this kit back to Metra and have them start over. Suggest that the customer find a better kit. The wiring harness that was ordered fit perfect.

Almost
Sean from Hamburg, PA on 11/7/2007
I have a 2006 Nissan Titan LE w/ dual climate control and LCD. My truck came standard with the Rockford Fosgate stereo system Sat radio and Aux in. Being in the Navigation business I needed to test some systems so a Din / Double Din option was very much needed as I am constantly installing different systems. Just as the first person who reviewed this product - I received the kit scuffed and marked right out of the box. I too considered returning it, but I needed to install the system to meet a test deadline. The color doesn't match the part I replaced and it is extremely easy to scratch the color off. My original piece was a silver color matching the center console. This piece is a dark color somewhat matching the dash. And again from the other review, **Underneath the color-coating is simply black plastic - be careful when installing**. There is a small piece that covers the 2 holes to the right of the pass side temp control. It is silver in color not even matching the dash kit. I did not have these holes in my stock piece. Looks OK when finished but just a bit weird that it is the color that the complete kit should be. The fit, it's close, but not quite perfect. The Double Din unit I installed mounted to the dash kit itself and not to the inner pocket like the factory unit. This made the dash kit very heavy. Most of the edges were flush and the result was a 2 out of 5. Metra is great quality as I have them for more than 15 yrs. I am however a bit disappointed in this piece. I realize the kits now days are much more complicated than the past. I would recommend the kit but just beware of the issues.

Look for something better.

I have a 2007 Nissan Titan LE w/ dual climate control and LCD. This truck comes standard with the Rockford Fosgate stereo system, but I wanted to replace this with a double-din Pioneer Avic-D3. When I received this product, it was already scuffed and marked right out of the box. I had considered returning it, but I already had the truck torn apart. Also, the color doesn't quite match the interior, and it is extremely easy to scratch the color off. Underneath the color-coating is simply black plastic - be careful when installing. As far as fit, it's close, but not quite perfect. Most of the edges fit flush with the other parts of the dash, but the top sits higher than the factory dash. All in all, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a dash kit.
