RSX Radio faceplate

Much needed purchase if replacing stock radio system. Makes the new receiver a more polished install while keeping the aesthetics, and gets rid of the unneeded tap deck for a place to keep your phone while it's being used for GPS and/ or music.

Metra Dash Kit for 2003 Acura Rsx

Bought with Nakamichi NA-101 and found I could re-use the factory mounting...which looks and fits better and retains the fold down door for storage.

Metra dash kit for '06 Acura RSX

Perfect fit and an easy install with the purchased replacement radio. Does not have the hinged door of the original Acura frame, which which might be an issue for some. But otherwise looks clean and installed easily.

Mounting Kit

This made installing the radio super easy on my 2002 Acura RSX. I didn't need to use the dash plate. The JVC radio slid in to my existing Acura face plate.

I remember, long ago, when these kits came with metal frames and were nice and sturdy. Well, the frame fits the dashboard just fine, but I opted to fiddle with the parts and use the factory mount which is a lot sturdier. Still nice though.

Solid, clean, base honda a little better.

The unit looks nice and clean on install, but the honda base unit has some advantages (that would have made it probably expensive). Would be nice to have a door over the empty slot so storage there is more concealed. Could be removable to have one sku for single or double din installs. It is four short screws and a few plastic tabs from theft if you go with the din style, but it does support screwing it in to the dash cage as well like the big Bose unit. Like the honda design flaw, the switch for the flashers gets torn out if this ever does get stolen.

Review for the Acura RSX In-dash Receiver Kit

Wasn't that impressed with the ability to mount the after market stereo into this assembly. It gives you 2 options, a DIN mount or ISO. I tried both and ISO was sloppy and wouldn't hold head unit stable. DIN mount was a little better but pretty sure you could pull the head unit out by hand if you tried hard enough. Would have like to seen the ability to stabilize the head unit with some side screws. There are some large gaps around faceplace and there are 4 holes for some reason in the back of the storage pocket under the head unit.

TOP QUALITY - 2002 RSX Type S

This kit is top quality. I have installed many dash kits of far lesser quality. This fit perfect, has a OEM appearance, and is very easy to install.

not the same as the factory kit

The Crutchfield team was so amazing. This product, however, was cheap looking and was not the same a the one that came factory in my 2002. Mine has a very handy little flip down door that conceals the storage space. Not to mention, I can rest my phone there when I'm using Google maps or something. Also, not everything shown in the photo was in the package that arrived. I ended up not needing it anyway because the install was easy enough.

In a snap

The Posi connectors, dash kit and wiring harness along with the installation guide made installling my Pioneer head unit "a snap". With a little pre-work ie: connecting the wiring harness'. I had the whole job fininshed in about 40 minutes.

Worked fine though a little cheap looking

Worked fine on installing a new head unit in my daughter's 2006 RSX Type S. Feels a little plasticky compared to the factory insert but did the job. I installed a Kenwood receiver which fit fine and worked well. The hardest part was not knowing how hard I had to pull on the factory faceplate to get it out of the panel - took more force than anticipated. I didn't want to break anything. Once I got the factory panel out everything else went easily.

Be Cautious

If using this face plate with a removable radio be cautious. I installed a blaupaubt radio but was unable to smoothly fold the face plate down to use the CD functions nor would it allow the removal of the face plate. I had the customly force the radio forward to allow the functionality. To the company that produced as item please include a back plate to allow radios with removable face plates to work correctly.

Weak quality control

The dash kit was provided as part of the purchase price for an in-dash head unit. As it turned out, I was able to re-use the OEM dash unit, which suited me fine as the OEM part had some advantages over the replacement unit. The replacement dash kit was apparently missing a screw (1 of 5) holding the two halves together, resulting in a conspicuous gap in a very noticeable location. Crutchfield was more than willing to replace the dash kit, but since I didn't need it anyway, there was no point.
