2015 Smart fortwo
The wiring harness worked eventually, but two of the pins needed to be moved to get this harness to work in my vehicle. If you make the changes described here: http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/forums/f76/2012-fortwo-radio-harness-wiring-43547/ it works in a 2015 model. To pull the pins out you need to use a small jewelers screwdriver to push down a catch on the pin so you can pull the pin from the harness. The catch is against one of the flat sides of the pin, and you can spot it if you shine a flashlight in to the harness. It takes a bit of work to spot it unless you know what you are looking for. Make sure you push the pin back out before re-latching it or the pin will just fall back out. Also, I used this kit to mount a clarion cz505 radio. The side brackets in this kit are so thick that the bolts included with the radio would not reach the threaded hole on the side of the radio. I used 1/2 inch 10-32 bolts which are a little long, but you can use a nut or some washers as a spacer. I don't know why any additional instructions were not included from crutchfield because when I called their tech support they were able to confirm the pin positions. Finally, when placing the radio in to the bracket, be sure to set it back a small amount from the included drawer. When mounting the radio, you will see that it actually seats properly when doing so. If the radio is not back a bit, the dash plate will not fit properly.
Pros: The price is right and in the end I was able to get everything installed and working. The end result looks nice.
Cons: I would have liked to have known about the wiring changes before I tried to plug the radio in, especially since this wiring configuration has been in place since 2012.
