I really would have preferred that this adapter screwed into the side of the new head unit rather than counting on the sleeve to hold it in place. The fold up bars on the sleeve never do as good of a job. Other than that, it fit well and installed as it should have.

Cons: Doesn't screw to the aftermarket head unit...counts on the sleeve holding the head unit to the adapter.

It's ok. It does make the Head unit look a bit nicer and it does fit EXACTLY around the unit tightly. But it would be nice if there was more meat on the side to help secure it better.

I'm so surprised it's the receiver kit I"m asked to review. My brother wasn't available so I took everything to an installer. There's only so much pushing my limits I'll do without skilled help. Anyway, everything's in and it hasn't fallen off into the road. I only gave 3 stars cuz I have absolutely no idea how to rate this.
Pros: I have a stereo I can use w/ my smartphone.

Money install, Metra kits always hit the mark for me. I instaled a Kenwood X998 into factory location, with European models this is not always as easy as it sounds. This kit is a perfect fit for the basic package the 2004 Mini Cooper S comes with.

Worked well on my Cooper, the only issue I had was the holes for the alignment pins were too tight and the bracket cracked when pushing one side on. I should have used a small round file to open it up just a touch but it hasn't effected the stability of the bracket.
