Awesome cable, make sure to pay attention to the ends. It can only be hooked up one direction. I had run it through the wall, and it wouldn't work. After seeing that I had it backwards, I had to pull it out and re-run it.

This cable is crap ran it through my ceiling as some guys were working went out on me in less than 2 years and its so expensive save yourself dont buy.

Installed in ceiling and failed after about 18 months

I installed the 30' version of this cable in the ceiling of our basement during a home build, and it failed intermittently after about 18 months and failed entirely after 20 months of use. Looking for another cable and am confronted by an annoying install in the ceiling of a now finished basement.

Worked for awhile.

The Metra cable worked well and was everything I needed to hook directly from my receiver to my projector. However, after a little over 2 years of use, the cable has started to show pixilation and poor display. With only having a year warranty I am now looking for another cable.

I needed a 50ft run of HDMI from my receiver in a cabinet up through the wall and then run down from the top behind the stone work on my fireplace to the TV mounted there. I have used this longer run for a few weeks now and it has held up to the task of sending ARC signals between my devices properly over this distance. I am no expert on HDMI cables, but I knew I would need a cable capable of sending a 4K signal along with the ARC info over a 50 ft span and this cable handles this job very well.

It's funny that so many people on the internet say any HDMI cable rated as high speed can transmit 4K . If your connection is over a meter or two you ABSOLUTELY need a cable rated at 18 Gbps. Switching from a cable rated at 10 Gbps to this one allowed my sony 295 projector to play 2160 resolution for the first time. Maybe this review will help someone else from breathing all that drywall dust??.

Works like a champ - 50ft run

They fixed the problem! My existing HDMI cable was not capable of 4K. Screen would flicker and cut off when viewing any 4K source. I have a fully integrated Control 4 system and this caused a serious operability issue. The existing HDMI cable was pre-wired with the house and was "supposed" to be 4K capable. Needed a 50ft cable run through the attic to the equipment closet. This cable was easy to work with and most importantly- it fixed the problem. Works like a champ and at a good price . Great Cable.

I bought the 50 ft active cable as part of an upgrade to my A/V setup. I have it in an in-wall installation, and it works great. Even on my old plasma TV, the picture seems sharper and the colors richer, but that's just a subjective observation. The next stage is to replace the plasma with a 4k TV. It came beautifully packaged on a spool in a strong box, which will be used for Christmas tree lights. When installing, remember that this cable is directional and the connectors are clearly marked 'Source' and 'Display'. If you install it the wrong way round, it won't work. Also, this is a fiber-optic cable; the minimum radius that it can be bent is 1.75" acording to the website, so treat it with care or you may end up with some expensive junk. I would recommend. If you need a long cable for your 4k, this is the way to go.

While watching TV today 10/1/19 after only a month if use the cable stopped working. Fortunately I had installed an extra cable in the wall because of my worry that a failure could potentially happen. Now I have to tear apart a few pieces of my wall to take out the bad cable. I hope I can return the bad cable to Crutchfield. Not a happy camper.

If you need a 50ft 4K do not waste your time trying other brands that claim that their 4K 50ft HDMI cable meet all the specs. I tried with 2 other famous top brands 50ft cable on my Onkyo RZ820 with an LG C8 OLED/LG HD DVD player and 4K would not work. I even tried with an active/ directional 35ft cable and no go. After calling Crutchfield they recommended this cable and it works like a charm. Learn from my mistakes: If you need a 50 ft , 4K HDR + all the marketing specs HDMI cable, just get this one. Totally worth it. Just be aware that this cable is directional, so pay attention where to connect each end.

No more screen flicker

I was surprised on how thin this cable was, but sometimes big things come in small packages. Due to the size I had no problem running this cable in the wall. This cable replaced a 30 foot cable that was giving me the flickering screen that is typically associated with streaming 4K over long runs. No more flicker and picture is crystal clear!

Disappointed

I would think twice if you need this cable for a longer run. I ordered the 50' version, and the ARC didn't work. Ordered a replacement active cable, and the ARC works great. Unfortunately this cable was installed in my wall, and it will be no small task digging it out. The only reason I gave it two stars is that the picture is fine (even 4k), it's just the ARC that doesn't work. I understand ARC is still somewhat in its infancy and that it could be a compatibility issue. That said, the new cable works just fine, and this one is supposed to according to what is advertised.
