More details on the Axxess AX-ADGM04 Interface Harness
Compatibility: The AX-ADGM04 must be used with the Axxess AX-ADBOX1 or AX-ADBOX2 Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately) when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket stereo in a 2013-up Chevy Malibu.
Note: Please consult Crutchfield's Vehicle Selector to see if your vehicle is compatible and if any additional installation accessories and tools are required.
Factory Amplified/Non-Amplified Compatible: The Axxess AX-ADGM04 can be used in vehicles with or without factory amplifiers, including digital amplified systems found in many GM vehicles. Both balance & fade control are retained when used with AX-ADBOX1 interface (sold separately). The AX-ADBOX2 interface (sold separately) does not retain fader in vehicles with factory digital amplifier.
GM OnStar/Warning Chimes/Turn-Signal Retention: In conjunction with the Axxess Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately), the AX-ADGM04 helps to retain the factory OnStar emergency services system that would normally be lost when your GM factory radio is replaced by an aftermarket head unit. The AX-ADGM04 also helps retain your GM vehicle's factory warning chimes and turn-signals.
R.A.P (Retained Accessory Power): The ignition power source of many vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This feature is called the R.A.P. (retained accessory power). The AX-ADGM04, along with the Axxess Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately) is designed to retain this feature.
Factory Aux Input: The AX-ADGM04 lets you keep your vehicle's factory Aux input. The wiring harness includes a set of stereo RCA connectors which plug into the rear aux input of your aftermarket head unit.
Optional Steering Wheel Control Interface: The AX-ADGM04 features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately).
Optional LCD: The AX-LCD (120AXLCD, sold separately) allows you to retain the personalization menu that is lost when you replace the factory radio in select GM vehicles with an aftermarket head unit. The LCD module consists of a 2.5" (diagonal) screen which offers 256 color adjustments. There are 4 push-button controls to toggle up/down through menu options, return to previous menu, and select current menu option.
44-Pin Harness: The AX-ADGM014 GM LAN 29 harness is fitted with a 22-pin connector which plugs into the Axxess Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately), a 12-pin connector that plugs into the Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (sold separately), plus a 44-pin connector which plug into your GM vehicle's factory radio harness. There is also a plug-in front speaker harness. In addition, there is a set of stereo RCA jacks which plug into your your aftermarket head unit's rear-panel aux input. A DIN connector lets you connect the optional LCD module (sold separately). There are 7 bare wire leads that will need to be hardwired to your vehicle's wiring and aftermarket radio harness.
