A
Because I used the normal butt connectors last time, and because today's wires are so much thinner than they were 20 years ago, I thought it would be better to try these. Sometimes the wires would be cut off or fall out of the butt connectors. I think these would give the crimp something more to hold onto. Was going to order them elsewhere, for a little less, but sales tax made them almost the same price, and figured I'd rather give Crutchfield the business for going above and beyond ! [ H Jim  Oct 08, 2018 ]
A

Just twist your wires together...place cap over end so it covers your connection...and "crimp" with pliers or vice grips where the narrow endd is...on the metal...this will keep your connection covered from contacting other wires or metal..good luck!!!

I used a wire crimper. You can also use a different tools as long as you crimped/pressed the butt of the connector, you need to twist/insert the wires inside the connector then press as hard as you can the butt of the connector. Hope this help.

You twist the two wires together and insert them into the cap. Then crimp the outside of the cap. You can use a crimping tool or cheap out and use pliers like I did.

A
1. Twist together the wires you plan to connect. 2. Insert the twisted wires into the crimp cap 3. With an electrical crimper or even vise-grips squeeze the cap so the wires will not come loose 4. Once complete I recommend zip tieing together the bunch of wires to keep them organized.

You need to twist the wires together insert them into the cap and crimp the cap with wire crimpers. They are available at just about any auto part stores in the electrical section, they might be available at walmart too... So, yes you need other tools to complete the job.

Twist your wires together. Insert them into the cap. Crimp the metal portion of the cap. Done.

Yes u need a crimper for these connectors. Just strip about 1/4 inch of the wires, twist them together, then put the cap over the wire (making sure the stripped wire is in line with metal center) & crimp the metal center of cap.
