Perfect Fix for My Problem!

After corresponding with Crutchfield adviser (Luke) he recommended this product to resolve my problem. It worked perfectly and was the least expensive and complicated fix!

It works. I'm only using to connect a 32" tv to an amp/speakers. The tv does not have any other audio outputs than an optical, and no headphone connection. These modern tv's don't have amps & speakers, which equals horrible sound.

Metra ethereal DAC2 and MHX-T-5 cable ??

I use a Bluetooth receiver to play the Amazon music app on my phone through my stereo. The result was poor compared to CD or vinyl. After reading the Crutchfield article about DACs I purchased the Metra ethereal CS-DAC2 and Metra ethereal - MHX -T-5 cable. Connected the Metra ethereal DAC2 to the Bluetooth receiver with the Metra ethereal-MHX-T-5 cable then into the preamp. The Amazon music app sound is now the same quality as my CD player or turntable. The quality of the Metra products, their high performance level and great price point definitely earn a 5 star rating.

Bought to connect my flat screen audio to an older Yamaha receiver. The CS-DAC2 connected easily and works perfectly. Been using for about a week and it works silently out of sight in the components cabinet. Glad I purchased.

Simple and cost-effective solution

I purchased this DAC to send the audio from my 10-year Panasonic TV to an Onkyo TX-8020 stereo receiver that only has analog inputs, since my TV's sound output is digital optical. Setup was straightforward - I connected an optical cable from my TV to the corresponding input on the DAC (there is also a digital coaxial input), and used RCA cables to connect the DAC to my receiver. No other configuration was required, and I was up and running right away. Sound quality is good, and about a month in I haven't encountered any issues. Since this unit is for use in my bedroom, I was looking for something that was compact and not too elaborate, and this has been cost-effective solution that I would recommend to anyone who has a similar need.

Great product easy to set up and use. Great price. Was able to hook my new digital TV up to my analog amp with opti cable and plugged in RCA cables and great sound the result.
