Product Research

Features

Overview: The SPDT (single-pole, double throw) relay is a switch controlled by a voltage input instead of a mechanical action. By sending current through the relay, you can turn a device on or off without touching the device. The relay consists of two parts: the relay, which includes a 5-blade socket, and the 5-blade plug with 5 wires. It has a capacity for up to 30 Amps.

Typical Applications:

  • Relay Turn-On: for turning on/off high-current devices such as multiple amplifiers or neon lights
  • Relay Turn-Off: for turning off or disabling a device such as a vehicle's starter system (in conjunction with a security system)
  • Remote Trunk Release: for remote control opening of a vehicle trunk (in conjunction with a security system--requires existing power-assisted trunk release)
  • Power Door Lock System: for remote control locking/unlocking of vehicle doors (in conjunction with a security system and aftermarket power door locks)

Wiring Considerations: Installation of this relay requires soldering of the connections. Installation of a 30-amp fuse and fuse holder may be required near the battery connection.

Q
My 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan Crutchfield instructions say if I have the six speaker Infinity system I need to pull the NBS relay in the intergrated power module and use the E 5000 relay from Crutchfield. Should I order this relay?

A
This is the relay we carry to let that stock Infinity amp work with an aftermarket radio installed into your vehicle. For some reason the factory relay does not work with aftermarket radios so this one is needed to replace it.

Hello, everyone. I'm trying to figure out exactly what this relay does....do I really need it or can I bypass it? Vehicle: 2009 Chevy Corvette. Thank you VERY much! Ric

For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.
