Keep factory backup camera!
Larry from MIDLAND, MI on 1/17/2021
I didn't originally get this but quickly found out I needed it if I wanted to keep my factory backup camera. Everyone refers to this as a steering wheel control adapter, and it is, but I don't have steering wheel stereo controls. All I used from this harness was the pass through 4" screen that you must keep and tuck away in your dash and the rear view camera connection. Didn't need to pull more power or anything. Works perfectly from what I can tell. Camera displays on my Alpine double din unit with guide lines and everything. No complaints but four stars because you have to hide that little screen somewhere.
Pros: It works and was not hard to install once I figured out to ignore everything except the rear view camera connection.
Cons: Strange to keep the original little screen. Guess it is just a less expensive way to make this work.

The product was fine but when I called to have it wired they would only do wiring tio a product sold thru you. I purchased aFord RR2, a modual, and a harness and you woudn't wire to the head harness . Sorry, took ot to a local spot and they wired it for less than 35.00, won't be buying from you anymore.

Waste of money and the Axxess tech support confirmed the statement and that sometimes, it doesn't work on some Transits. That's correct, It wouldn't work for my Transit and that's expected. I plugged it in between the 4 inch screen and the harness, per the manufacturer, no go. Axxess knew this can be an issue. No one at Crutchfield knew that you have to keep the original screen plugged in and you have to shove it behind the dash. Seriously, that's how this "solution" works. I had to remove the yellow video plug in the picture, throw away the rest of the harness and had to strip the factory wires to get my backup video to work. This too confirmed by the manufacturer. What's even worse is you have to split the video signal to the old screen now shoved behind your dash and the new radio. This creates a awful ghosting effect on the new radio. Too bad you have to keep the old screen wired because the video would look decent with only one output.
Pros: none
Cons: all of them
