I had moderate expectations, but this has been excellent. Helping me use an excellent, but older piece of equipment. If it lasts will be much better than the less expensive options out there.

Quality-built and works very well

I purchased the Metra unit after purchasing (from another source) a unit that purported to do the same thing, but at about 1/3 the cost. The phrase "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. The Metra does exactly what it is supposed to do and, right out of the box, you can tell it's a quality-built HDMI Switch. My TV only has one HDMI input and I am running an Apple TV box and, occasionally, a Blu-Ray player. So my set up is a Klipsch 600 plugged into the HDMI-ARC output from my TV, my Blu-Ray player plugged into input 2 on the Metra and my Apple TV plugged into input 3 on the Metra. (Input 1 is located on the front of the Metra; 2, 3 and 4 are on the back). All works well, including the 5.1 surround sound and 4K that is passed through the Apple TV-Metra-TV-Klipsch arrangement. It was comforting know that, if I needed to, I could call Crutchfield support for assistance.

Needs RF remote and auto-switching

Works as advertised. Picture quality is excellent on a 4K TV. Wish it had an RF remote instead of IR and auto-switching.

Great to expand hdmi options and send audio output back from TV HDMI ARC input back to audio output of CS-HDM4X1ASW4. Had to play with/figure out how to setup TV/HDMI ARC and device to get output return, but it works good.

Works perfectly with a tv which has only one HDM input for 4K. This switches from different sources seamlessly!

Excellent device to control multiple HDMI inputs

Solved my problem with competing HDMI signals going into my Yamaha RX-V685 receiver. Easily controlled by my Harmony 950.

Does not pass Dolby Atmos through using the HDFury Arcana + Sonos Arc Atmos soundbar. Everything else seems fine but doesn't fit my needs. Used a much cheaper Roofull Switch that works just great.

Switcher Remote Huge Disappointment

Purchased the switcher even though there was previous customer comment about remote being useless. Switcher remote never worked; even after trying 3 different batteries. Switcher feeling is 'flimsy' but if it worked, I could easily manage using it. Since my switcher is in the basement, manual switching is not an option I will live with. POSITIVE NOTE: Crutchfield technical support provided 'test' to confirm remote was not sending out a signal. Crutchfield very willing to rectify the situation and replace the unit. I have not received the second unit.
