About the Metra Velox Active EHV-HDT30

Velox active cables combine advanced design and engineering to support 4K/HDR video. Thanks to Metra's patented Titan processing chip, Velox active cables can deliver up to 24 Gbps to support higher resolutions, frame rates, and color depth compared to High Speed HDMI cables. Metra's symmetrical HDCP and EDID rise time accelerator eliminates EDID errors and, because the repair is bi-directional, ensures that HDCP handshaking occurs reliably.

Product highlights:

  • active design uses a signal processing chip to ensure more reliable signal transmission over greater distances

Customer Q&A

3 questions already asked

Do you have to plug the USB in for the cable to work?
[ Justin  Dec 10, 2020 ]
4 answers
This is also a directional cable and the usb power should be plugged in on the monitor or projector end.
[ james  Dec 30, 2020 ]
Yes, the cable requires USB power to carry the display signal. Most current model TVs have USB ports near the HDMI port. In the event that yours doesn't, you could purchase a USB power adapter that matches the minimum power requirements or greater [5V (max) - 500mA (min), something like the old Apple power cubes should suffice]. Or, if it is too far away, which it was in my case, you can use the USB extension.
[ A  Dec 12, 2020 ]
Yes, it requires the additional power to pull the high-def video/audio source across the extended cable length. Most televisions include USB ports, but you may be able to plug this standard electrical outlet with a USB adaptor.
[ CARL  Dec 12, 2020 ]
I'm not sure
[ JOSHUA  Dec 11, 2020 ]
is this cable CL2 rated?
[ Jeff  Aug 03, 2020 ]

The product description states CL2/FT4 rated. I have this installed in flex conduit inside my wall from my built-ins to my TV hanging above my Fireplace.
[ A  Dec 12, 2020 ]
I have not install the cable but I am not qualified to answer
[ FRANK  Aug 03, 2020 ]
Samsung says itâ??s smart TVs ARC HDMI cable is appropriate to connect with sound bar. Is this type of cable required too? Samsung makes no mention of the need for a spec HDMI cable.
[ Frank  May 01, 2020 ]
1 answer
This type of cable is only needed if the soundbar also have HDMI inputs for connecting devices like Blu-Ray players, game systems, media speakers, etc... to the soundbar as well. Feel free to contact an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your gear and setup to get a personal recommendation on an HDMI cable
