Could have purchased separately to extend the USB connection from the new radio to the USB port in the armrest between the two front seats - but this item came with the higher-end installation kit, so no need to buy a separate USB extension cable. [ Robert  Jan 20, 2017 ]

Included in install package but unnecessary for me (required in some Subaru's that have media USB port some where like inside the center console) [ Joshua  Dec 20, 2016 ]

I recently bought a Pioneer Stereo to replace the basic Subaru WRX stereo. I realized after the stereo arrived that a special adapter was required to reuse the existing USB port in the car. As a note - When providing recommendations for car specific accessories (wiring harness, etc), please include the USB converter in the recommended items. [ Douglas  Oct 20, 2016 ]

Q
Will this allow the use of android auto?
[ Andrew  Jul 08, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
Depends on the year of the Subaru I believe. I have a 2013 legacy and this cord was sent to me in error. It actually does nothing for me. Way easier to have head unit with a USB adapter and blue tooth. You can stream music and charge at the same time.
[ ADAM  Jul 09, 2017 ]
Q
Do they make something like this to retain the the factory AUX?
[ Zach  Jul 19, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.
