Product Research

USB Adapter Harness: The Axxess Integrate AX-SUBUSB2 USB adapter harness is used when you want to retain the factory USB port in select 2015-up Subaru vehicles, when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket stereo that features a rear USB input.

Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
to keep the factory USB input in the center console [ John  Jun 25, 2020 ]
Seems like it's the best case to retain use of the factory-placed USB port in my Subaru [ Kurt  Feb 24, 2019 ]
packaged item [ Christy  Feb 09, 2019 ]
I wanted to keep the factory console mounted USB connector in my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with my new aftermarket head unit and this is the perfect solution!! [ Joseph  Jul 10, 2018 ]
The 2018 wrx needs it for the stock usb retention in the center console. [ Jason  May 01, 2018 ]
It retains the USB port under the armrest [ Alan  Jan 21, 2018 ]
Son recommended them [ Francis  Dec 09, 2017 ]
Because, even though Crutchfield website insisted that it doesn't fit my 2017 Subaru WRX, numerous forums stated that it does. So after much research, I bought it. [ Matthew  Dec 08, 2017 ]

Can I use CarPlay with this cable?

This cable did not work in my 2017 Forester since it has 2 usb ports to connect. It should work with vehicles with only one usb connection. I have the AX-SUBUSB1 in my 2011 STi and it does connect and uses Carplay. If it works on your vehicle CarPlay will work. It is a convenient spot in the center console. Good luck, John

You can not use carplay/android auto with this.
[ Jeff  May 27, 2020 ]
[ Miguel  May 26, 2020 ]
Yes. It worked for me.
[ John  May 26, 2020 ]
Let's say your car (Subaru) has a USB port in the middle compartment where you arm is. This cable is an adapter that allows you to connect that USB port to the new headunit that you would have bought. Once you plug in your car USB port into this cable, then this cable into the headunit, you can use your middle compartment usb port to plug into your phone and then use carplay with the headunit.
