XS Power 12-volt batteries give you plenty of juice to start your ride or power your high-performance audio system. If you're using your XS Power battery to start your car, you'll need a set of battery posts. These PN 580 brass posts are for vehicles that use "short style" battery posts. They feature M6 threads and come with stainless steel hex-head bolts that are built to last. These posts work with most XS Power 12-volt deep-cycle batteries, and you can also use them with XS Power's exclusive i-BAR battery fit system. Warranty: 1 year.

These brass battery posted are constructed well. I have a kill switch on my car. I wanted to modify it to my needs. The brass battery post I found threw Crutchfield allowed me to do this without a problem. Thanks Crutchfield

No issues with install, make sure not to over tighten them per instructions.
Pros: Good solid connections, easy to install.
Cons: I guess I've read that some people have trouble making their terminal leads fit, but I didn't have any issues with mine fitting. I guess if there was any issue with it at all, it would be the rounded shape of them. Why not make them a straight cylindrical tube shape?

I ordered this item for use with a small battery in a car prepared for autocross competition. The vehicle uses standard OEM SAE battery terminals on the battery cables. The cables are less than a year old, purchased new from the vehicle manufacturer and remain in like new condition (not stretched). I installed the posts on the battery and then attempted to attach the terminals to the posts. The clamping bolts on the terminals were tightened completely, and the terminals would not pull snugly against the posts. I removed the new battery and compared it to the standard OEM battery, and found that both the XS Power positive and negative posts were 1.5 mm undersized. And the taper from the base of the terminals to the top is much, much sharper than a standard SAE battery terminal. The XS battery posts are unusable with any standard size terminals or OEM battery cables.

Works well, they are different sizes for common battery posts that use different size posts to keep you from accidentally installing with reverse polarity, so when installing put the wider diameter one on the positive terminal.
Pros: Perfect fitment to OEM posts.
Cons: Could be made out of aluminum for better power transfer.

Compatibility: While the 580 short posts are compatible with all i-BAR rails and all XS Power batteries with 6mm post inserts (all we carry), if the areas around the battery's posts are recessed the 586 tall posts might be a better choice (item number 122586).
