About the XS Power XP750CK

One-stop shopping for your second battery

If you're putting together a serious, competition-level audio system, you know you're going to need extra power. And you also know that putting together all the parts and pieces you need for that part of the project can sometimes be as challenging as designing the stereo system itself.

One-stop shopping for your second battery

If you're putting together a serious, competition-level audio system, you know you're going to need extra power. And you also know that putting together all the parts and pieces you need for that part of the project can sometimes be as challenging as designing the stereo system itself.

XS Power's XP750-CK kit takes the legwork (and guesswork) out of adding a second battery. This complete kit comes with everything you need, from the compact, powerful XP750 power cell all the way down to zip ties and screws.

This XS Power kit includes:

  • 1 XP750 power cell
  • 1 stamped aluminum battery mount
  • 18' XP Flex power cable
  • 3' XP Flex ground cable
  • 6 XS power heat shrink
  • 6 crimp terminals
  • 2 battery clamps
  • 2 wire grommets
  • 2 ANL fuse holders
  • 2 150A fuses
  • 10 wire clamps
  • 10 zip ties
  • 10 screws

The included XP750 battery is designed for 500-1500 watt systems, and you can use multiple kits for systems that require even more power. Warranty: 2 years.

Important Note: It is very important to properly charge an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery before using. Improper charging can permanently damage the battery (including but not limited to swelling), and will void the warranty. The XS Power HF IntelliCharger for AGM Batteries (sold separately) has a microprocessor that monitors the charging process to avoid overcharging, and is recommended for this battery.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The XS Power XP750CK includes the XS Power XP750 battery, AK-1000 wiring kit, and 511 mount for installation of a supplemental power source in your vehicle for your car audio system. It can also be used in marine applications.

XS Power Battery: The XS Power XP750 is a 12-volt battery that is designed to be used as a supplemental power source in your vehicle. It can be used to provide additional power for your car audio system, or can be used in marine applications. It is not designed to be installed under the hood or replace the OEM battery in your vehicle.

  • Terminals: The XP750 battery has a terminal insert with an M5 thread. It comes with socket cap head bolts that allow you to fasten the ring terminal to the battery, so no additional hardware is necessary. The XP750 is not compatible with other terminal adapters offered by XS Power.
  • Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM): XS Power's AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries use a fibrous material to suspend the liquid electrolyte against the lead plates. Because the electrolyte is absorbed in the material, there is little chance of an acid leak, even in the event the case is ruptured. AGM batteries contain more lead compared to traditional "flooded" batteries, thus producing more power.

Installation Wiring Kit: The included XS Power AK-1000 wiring kit is designed for installing a secondary battery to the vehicle's existing charging system. The kit comes complete with 18' of 4 AWG power wire that gets run from the existing vehicle battery to the new battery's location, and includes 2 ANL fuse holders, each with a 100 amp ANL fuse installed. The fuse holders should be placed in-line on the power wire 12 to 18 inches from each battery terminal. Wire is attached to the fuse holders with hex-head set-screws using the included 2.5 mm Allen key. Two battery clamps are included for connection to the new battery's terminals, as well as a 3' length of 4 AWG ground wire for the add-on battery. Other accessories include 10 wire clamps w/ self-tapping screws, 10 zip-ties, 2 rubber grommets, and 2 additional crimp-on ring terminals with two 1-1/2" pieces of heat-shrink tubing.

Mounting Box: The XS Power 511 is a stamped aluminum, side mount, mounting box designed to mount the XP750 battery to a side wall. There's a window in the box so you can see the battery. Once installed, the battery terminals are accessible at the top of the box.

Charging the Battery: It is very important to properly charge an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery before using. Improper charging will permanently damage the battery (swelling, etc.), and will void the warranty. The XS Power HF IntelliCharger for AGM Batteries (sold separately) has a microprocessor that monitors the charging process to avoid overcharging, and is strongly recommended for this battery.

Note: If the battery is damaged (swollen, etc.) due to improper charging, or from not using an intelligent charger, Crutchfield will not accept a return on this item.

Specifications: The XP750 has the following specifications:

  • Maximum Output: 750 amps
  • Reserve Capacity: 28 minutes
  • Discharge Capacity: 22 Ah (amp hours)
  • Dimensions: Length=7.13", Height=6.57", Width=3.03"
  • Weight: 14.5 pounds

My main battery cut out n the xs started my gmc 1500 . But I wouldnt use it for a main battery
[ Abraham  Sep 14, 2019 ]
A
NO! This is strictly for audio equipment. The battery cell technology in these battery vs a traditional car battery are vastly different. This battery does not have the cranking amps etc to start a car. This battery is equivalent to a battery found in a golfing cart.

It will charge, but for long time use better upgrade your alternator if your going to power a car audio system .
[ clarence  Oct 16, 2018 ]
A
No I dont think it would be enough amps

A
Yes
[ Richard  Oct 16, 2018 ]
A
No it's not
[ EDWARD  Oct 16, 2018 ]
A
I'd think so but I wouldn't recommend it because after a year of owning my it's like i don't even have a second battery at times. If plan on using your system everyday I wouldn't recommend this battery maybe try a yellow top optima for your main battery and if that isn't enough get a high output alternator
[ CHRISTOPHER  Oct 16, 2018 ]
Q
Lexus hybrid electrical -can I install this secondary battery to my hybrid car, or will it damage the HV electric battery and o e.m. generator? 30 amp rating, no alternator in these hybrids. ;(
[ hometheaterguy1  Jun 14, 2018 ]

The battery typically arrives charged, however it doesn't need to fully charges as it becomes part of the cars charging loop. This battery does an excellent job supplying power to our 1000 watt sub amp.

After you properly charge the battery per the recommendations and install the battery. Does the charging system in the car take care of the battery's charging needs? Or do you have to use a secondary charger?
[ Don  May 03, 2017 ]
4 answers
A
it should for small set up but check your charger out put and wires do the big 3 that will help
[ Antonio  Feb 12, 2019 ]
A
I have had mine for a year now with my system and it has stayed charged. Alpine 90w x 4 rms amp and Rockford 800w x 1 rms amp. No secondary charger has been used.
[ Thomas  May 03, 2017 ]
A
If you are charging the XS battery via your cars battery you should be just fine, it'll keep that battery charged, if your worried about power just hook up directly to your alternator and I definitely recommend an inline fuse if you are using it for speakers.
[ Andy  May 03, 2017 ]
A
Yes the car charging system charges the battery so no u don't need an secondary charger.
[ Michael  May 03, 2017 ]
Q
Can this battery be mounted horizontally under the seat?
[ ignachio  Feb 12, 2017 ]
3 answers
A
Yes
[ Andy  Feb 13, 2017 ]
A
Yes that is how mine is ran
[ MIKE  Feb 13, 2017 ]
A
Yes, that's how the mounting bracket is designed, and how I mounted mine. O a side note: Make sure you keep it charged, mine went dead during non use over the winter then wouldn't take a charge.. XS Power wouldn't cover it under warranty due to neglect. worked great up until then.
[ Douglas  Feb 13, 2017 ]
Q
I might be stupid for asking cause it's probably something that should be common knowledge, but, with this product, is it still safe to use a capacitor with this battery? I just bought a new one and I'd hate to have to get rid of it
[ Caleb  Jun 20, 2016 ]
7 answers
A
I use to run capacitors with my battery, sell capacitor, and replace with another battery .I used caps for a long time , when I replaced caps for batteries way better more power for amps , I had more dimming problems with caps than battery power. Cost more but last longer.
[ clarence  Oct 17, 2018 ]
A
Yes it is safe to use a capacitor with this product.
[ JOEY  Jun 23, 2016 ]
A
I use my 2 Farrad capacitor with this kit and have had no problems at all. Works great but would still recommend an alternator upgrade.
[ Andrew  Jun 22, 2016 ]
A
You can use a capacitor , i also had a capacitor too which was a soundquest 2 farad and ive been told that capacitors are useless ,that im better off with a battery and as i have a voltage meter connected to my amp, this kit actually helped alot with my power needs . i wouldnt recommend putting a capacitor since it would work the alternator more but you can put it if you want to. i have a 2015 sentra it couldnt handle a 1500 rms and with the cap it still didnt help but with the battery it made a huge difference . no more flickering lights but i also did a big 3 so my system has been running great for the past like 5 months without a problem.Hpefully i answered your question.
[ JAMES  Jun 22, 2016 ]
A
Yes you still can. The capacitor helps the amp pull a more consistent draw. These are very good batteries therefore adding a capacitor wouldn't hurt
[ Jerel  Jun 22, 2016 ]
A
There really is no need for a cap with this product, but you should be safe if you combine both consider how much power you will require and if it's necessary, most setups that use both in tandem are drawing huge amounts of power more than i would ever need or desire, my 1200 watt kicker amp works well with just the battery but i also have an isolator as well, haven't experienced any dimming but i don't turn my amp up higher than half way, my need isn't that extreme, i prefer it more mellow and i don't want to shake my new car apart
[ STEVEN  Jun 21, 2016 ]
A
Capacitor isn't really needed. The battery alone generates enough power for pretty much any amp less than 1000 watts max. If you use a bigger amp than that I suggest looking into the next size up of this particular battery
[ Andy  Jun 21, 2016 ]
Q
i have an amp that is 1200w rms at 1ohm powering two 750w rms subs. will this product fix my power problems?
[ Andrew  Jan 31, 2016 ]
5 answers
A
over a 1000 watts is good 1200 it may do the big 3 that may help this kit is for smaller set up
[ Antonio  Feb 12, 2019 ]
A
First thing first is to do the big three then with this kit your dimming lights will be history.
[ Michael  Feb 01, 2016 ]
A
I Wish I could be more helpful, but I actually spoke to the CRUTCHFIELD REP and he was very informative. He helped me finalize my system.
[ ISRAEL  Feb 01, 2016 ]
A
is possible, depending on the severity of your issues, that additional power to the all could help some. but ultimately, what you are doing is pushing your amp closer to peak much more frequently than it is designed to run. a dedicated battery would help more if your vehicle charging system wasn't keeping up with the demand of the amp. you're certainly shortening the lifespan of the amp by pegging it out so much, so that is something to keep in mind. if you are experiencing something like intermittent failure after running the system for some time, my guess would be that your best bet is going to be some active cooling. check the amp after running it hard and see how hot it's getting. if it's just short failures following the most demanding audio outputs, but your charging system for the vehicle isn't draining, you may have better luck with a capacitor. for a better answer, you'll need to specify what power problems you're having. you're best course of action, obviously, would be a 2nd amp. barring that, ensuring that you are using high quality wire from the amp to the subs will keep them running as smooth as the 300w deficiency from the amp will allow. premium, oxygen-free copper, and I may be on the overkill end of the spectrum, but I run no smaller than 8 gauge from any amp, especially to subs. personally, I run 8 gauge from amp to crossovers, and 4 gauge to subs. but, like I said, I err on the side of caution when it comes to wiring.
[ DUSTIN  Feb 01, 2016 ]
A
i would recommend that you use a capacitor to solve that problem. It will also help if your lights are dimming when the woofer is hitting hard.
[ Mark  Feb 01, 2016 ]

this product is rate for 500-1500 watts systems. Is that RMS or Max watts?

A
dont go over 1000 watt amp i have the sundown amp 1000 mono
[ Antonio  Feb 12, 2019 ]
A
Iam running two skar 1500 watt amps strapped running two xp750ck batteries on them with no lights dimming . But if your going to be playing your system loud all the time ,I would upgrade batteries and alternator and big 3 upgrade because your alternator will die some day, or you might not have dimmeing problem right away when you get your battery .you add fog light or anything else and can real dimming problems. Your just working your alternator to charge your battery 's . save and do it right the first time.
[ clarence  Oct 17, 2018 ]
A
It is rated RMS. iIf you plan on running anything 750@ I ohm it will not be big enough from your lights dimming on hard bass notes from my experience.
[ IGNACIO  Jul 07, 2015 ]
A
I believe it's RMS not Peak.
[ MICHAEL  Jul 03, 2015 ]
