Noel from Whitewood, SD on 11/7/2022

Made installation much easier in my 2005 Chev Malibu. I did listen to another customers review and shut off my chime button so I didn't have double chimes and everything seems to be working fine. Hated losing my information center items on my stock radio, but after owning this car for 18 years I know what kind of gas mileage it gets and vehicle information it supplies. Great trade off and a better upgrade. The wiring is the most time consuming part of the whole process but take your time and you'll be glad you did.

Super helpful way to connect aftermarket stereo to car wiring harness without cutting factory wiring. Removing one star since the chime box is rather quiet (hard to hear turn signals and other chimes when the car is moving) but it's noticeable when you're parked which is most important for remembering to turn your lights off etc.

I'd have to say that this harness is on point ??%. All I had to do was connect all the correct wires together pre install, and once I got it in the car it was just a simple plug and play. Oh and just a heads up, go ahead and turn the chime off on the PAC before you close everything up. Overall I love it, keeps everything like factory didn't have to worry about running my own hot wire
Pros: Simple to wire up, keeps you from running your own power wire, and keeps the radio working like factory was still in.
Cons: Haven't seen any.

Item was great. Had a 07 Pontiac G6 coupe with the premium audio package I was putting a system in and was getting very aggravated trying to wire the double din in. Didnt know I had the wrong wiring adapter. After doing a little web browsing I bought this one and didnt have a problem. If you have the same vehicle go ahead and get this adapter. Way more then what I wanted to pay for it but worth it to avoid the aggravation.
Pros: Works perfect

Very helpful, though the notes that were written by whoever wired the harness didn't fit what they actually did. I was having issues with my steering wheel controls and the notes said that I needed to manually connect a wire. After spending some time figuring out the wiring while on the phone with the specialists, we determined that the notes were inaccurate and they had actually done the connection already.
Pros: Saved a lot of time overall
Cons: Took about 2 hours of support calls before determining that the notes were wrong.

Worked as described in my 2006 Cobalt LS Sedan w/o on star or premium audio. Has the option to add door chime, but I didn't need this to I switched it off as the 05-06 have a separate speaker for the door chime (the newer ones play through the speaker). Also used the RAP connection for the remote wire of the subwoofer I just bought. Works great. I plan to use it for one of the cigarette outlets and increase the current rating (1A normally, going to increase that for for GPS)
Pros: Works Relatively cheap considering you only need to unplug one connector to return to a fully stock system. Easy to use.
Cons: None to speak of. Heads up, a soldering iron and tape is recommended for the connections.

JT from Pittsburgh, PA on 10/16/2014

I purchased this item along with an aftermarket JVC head unit in order to connect my factory wiring harness to the JVC's. It also retained the car's chimes, and Driver Info Center in my '05 Chevy Cobalt. Installation was smooth using Crutchfield's directions and a little bit of the internet. My only suggestion for first timers like myself is not to get overwhelmed with all of the colored wires. Just wire them up one at a time. Also, test everything before you screw the head unit back in.
Pros: Easy installation
Cons: Slightly pricy, but you can get it for half the price when ordering a head unit.

A. Rodriguez from Glenside, PA on 5/28/2014

The adapter makes it simple to connect the radio to the car. It would probably be almost just as easy to connect the cables directly, as they are all color coded on both sides, but I'm not sure if there are some fuses or on-way gates in the adapter. Turn off the beeping sound if you're installing this on a Chevy Cobalt 2006, it is not necessary (contrary to what the description says, the warning sounds on that car does not come from the stock radio, but from elsewhere in the dashboard).
Pros: Straight-forward.
Cons: Requires splicing a lot of cables, so make sure to get wire connectors/nuts. Very overpriced, the profit margin on this must be of several hundreds percent, but there is no competition, so we are stuck.

Good Wiring Harness

This wiring harness was easy to understand and use, even though it turns that this particular wiring harness was probably not strictly necessary for my car. The Crutchfield research said that my car (a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe) required this harness if I wanted to keep the warning chimes for my car; as it turns out, my warning chimes were not connected to the factory stereo, so I could have bought a much cheaper wiring harness.

2005 Chevrolet Malibu
Works great, maintains power when the car is shut off. That being said, I was hoping for some type of way to maintain oil change and trip mileage tracking. Not a huge deal, but I will miss the automated alerts and easy gas mileage calculations.
Pros: Install ease, maintain factory power process
Cons: Loss of mileage computing

If you want a smooth install
This really made the install easy and I think it is great Crutchfield offers these things at half the price when you buy a stereo from them. Saved a lot of solder and trouble shooting.

2006 Chevrolet Cobalt
I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT with no pioneer system or on star. Just normal Cobalt. This works great with it. One thing to note, I forgot to turn off the chime, if you aren't annoyed with dual chimes, that install it as is, if you don't like chimes, turn it off before installing...just FYI

PAC C2R-GM11B Wiring Interface

Does it's job right, and best of all, this is the cheaper version if you don't want to use OnStar.

Good but too expensive
douglas from Winter Haven, Fl on 10/26/2008
Without it my car wouldnt even start or if it did the gauges would drop so i couldnt do anything. I would give it a 5/5 for the product but its too much. I didnt buy it with my reciever but i would highly reccomend doing it that way to get 50% off.

Easy enough
Mike from Syracuse, NY on 8/3/2008
I installed this in my wife's 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx with a new Alpine CDA- 9884. This had to be integrated with the harness for the Metra OEM dash adaptor that has wiring for both the HU and the computer. Had to pull a few pins from the harness included with the PAC and pushed them into the one that came with the Metra, also I had to splice a few lines. A little coordination and it all came together. Functionaly, the car chimes on its own, so I disabled that. Other than that, the unit stays powered when the car is turned off, until the drivers door is opened. Just like its supposed to. Im not sure it was worth the price, but its certianly not a bad thing.
