Definitely Worth the price, A little advanced to hook up if its your first time. But i was able to get it down after a few hours of research on this product. The directions dont tell you everything but does make sense after fighting with it also the directions say that you will loose power to the fade in the factory amp but i didnt loose any control over any of it. DO NOT MAKE CUTS UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT WIRES YOU NEED TO CONNECT. that will make the install 10x harder. Support was able to help me figure it out in less than 5 minutes and they were super nice.
Pros: Keeps your factory amplifier, Makes adding a better radio down the line alot easier.
Cons: Not for beginners but is possible. You will spend a few hours figuring out how to do it.

Plugged in to one of my car stereo plugs. Another adapter is needed as well to keep steering wheel controls. Was all was hooked up left/ right balance was opposite and steering wheel controls were sketchy at best. This was likely due to the cheap "2 DIN" android stereo that was attempted to install. Stereo was not standard 2 DIN and was too large for the opening so it was removed and factory reinstalled. This plug was simple, the steering wheel controls were not so much.
Pros: Simple to connect and retain factory amp.

It's a little daunting when you see all the wires. The directions explain what they are, but don't really feel you how to connect them. It takes a bit more research than the directions give you. But once hooked up everything does work.
Pros: Everything needed to make it work
Cons: Confusing, not enough direction.

Relatively easy to install. Had to get this to use the OEM amp in my 2005 Jeep. Came with two harnesses depending on the wiring in my Jeep, found the correct one and matched up the wires. One thing of note, in my install it was required to wire the speaker wires differently then normal, it is in the instructions and bolded, but for someone skimming the instructions you may miss it.

I used this recommended wiring interface with my new Sony XAV-AX1000 in my 2006 Ram 1500. This wiring kit was a complete disaster ! I installed car stereos for several years and never experienced this outcome. After installing the radio the unit kept cutting off and on and threw an error code in the truck's computer and shut the truck down. the dash lit up like a Christmas tree! After unhooking everything it started back up and cleared out the codes. THANK GOD ! The directions that come with this wiring interface completely suck. I called Crutchfield tech support and they couldn't help. Long story short, I removed the little computer interface box and wired the radio up direct to B+, ACC, Ground, disconnected the dimmer and wired brake wire to ground. I used the adapter plug only to connect the trucks speaker wires. Now it works perfect. There are so many different ways dodge connects their factory radios and this wiring interface doesn't always work for each different one. Be careful is all I can say when using this wiring interface ! Thank God I didn't ruin my trucks computer.

it saves time but i think there is something wrong with it. ever time i shut my car off and come back and turn it on its as though it resets the entire head unit and i have to reconnect my phone and then when i turn the car off and get out and get back in i have to reconnect my phone each time, I don't know if its the wiring harness or the receiver but something isn't right. I paid all this extra money and my stereo still doesn't work right
Pros: save you some time wiring and eliminates that step for you and i guess makes sure you have the right connections but read my review and i'll explain the trouble I've been having
Cons: cost a lot, should throw the installation kit in for free if your going to buy and new stereo from them

Not fully compatible with Jeep JK Factory Amp
Dan from Scottsdale, AZ on 8/27/2017
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
This interface doesn't properly work with the Jeep JK Premium Audio system (aka Alpine). It will ONLY drive 2 channels instead of all 4 available. Thus no fader. Thus no Siri on a Sony XAV-AV100 (you need to reverse the front and back wires to make it work). I don't know why Crutchfield recommends this when Maestro RR is able to properly support the JK amp. I've wasted a lot of time to figure out why Siri wasn't working in my Jeep with the brand new Sony.

I recently purchased a Kenwood KDC-BT368U for my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, and this product with it to wire it into the factory harness. It does help in the connecting of the system, but the instructions that come with it as others have mentioned are terrible, and the master sheet gives you no help in this matter either. So I would say yes this worth purchasing to go with your new radio, unless you are familiar with wiring car radio systems. You will need to call tech support to help you because these instructions are not helpful. But tech support is very helpful so I commend them for that.
Pros: Product seems to be a good and of good value to rewiring your stereo system
Cons: The instructions that come with it are terrible.

Got the job done however in the good old days, you didn't have to splice wire because Crutchfield did this for you. Now we get these multi-use kits for which you have to decide which adapter to use and then splice 10+ wires together yourselves. This kit was a pain in the butt because tolerances are tight and the instructions on the master sheet don't get the job done. You have to refer to the other sheets and infer what is going on which defeats the purpose of a master sheet.. IMHO you lost your advantage Crutchfield and this is coming from an engineer with two degrees and has been with you for a long time.

Overall this harness works great. I did encounter one problem however with hooking up my backup camera to my six speed manual transmission Wrangler. The reverse wire (green) was hot whenever the key went into the on position instead of when in reverse. This meant the camera screen came on whenever the key was on. To work around this I ran a wire from the reverse light to the radio and didn't use the green wire.
Pros: Easy to hook up and follow directions
Cons: Reverse wire didn't work with my manual transmission

There's nothing more frustrating than trying to hook up that new system and not having the right parts. Well PAC seems to think of everything. There were extra parts included if I had different factory options or design changes. All the proper connectors for the various modules were there even the wire colors were the same as the factory harness.
Pros: Everything needed was included. Since we never use the steering wheel controls I choose not to buy that module but it can be added at anytime by just plugging it in.
Cons: None.

Works as advertised
Dave S from York, Pennsylvania on 12/7/2014
Works just as advertised. I used two of these in past couple weeks. One on a new JVC DVD Receiver where you use the blue wire, and one on a Pioneer DVD Receiver, using the plug for the swc. The main harness connects to speakers, then connect 3-5 wires to power, switched power, ground, illumination and set the dial to stereo brand. Wala.........steering wheel buttons work. I use a mini butane torch to solder and heat shrink all my harnesses. I can do this harness in less than 15 minutes.
Pros: Works as advertised Straightforward connections Got for 1/2 price with stereo purchase Good reviews
Cons: Instructions can be a little confusing, but read through them a couple times first.

Great adaptor for factory controls
Nic from Princeton, WV on 8/11/2014
2012 Jeep Patriot
When I first bought this for my radio I figured it would be hard to get everything just right as the box comes with two styles of connectors and there is a maze of wires. However, all I needed was the instructions included, my radio wiring harness/instructions, and some time. After about an hour I had all of the connections needed. My two complaints are that not all of the wires matched the colors. Be very careful especially with the reverse and PB wires. The other is that the wires were not all the same length. The ground, battery, and ACC wires were much longer than the other wires which I didn't notice until everything was almost complete. This created a slight curve in the wiring harness. It ended up being ok as I had to fold harness under the radio unit to fit.
Pros: Clear instructions, easy to follow
Cons: No uniform wire length between ground, battery, ACC and the remaining

Pretty Easy Once You Know What To Do
MissouriDad from Wentzville, MO on 2/18/2014
2008 Chrysler Town and Country
This came with my Pioneer FH-X700BT and I was very pleased with how it has worked in our 2008 Town And Country. This is the first car stereo I have installed so, having two wiring harnesses in the package meant I had to uninstall the old stereo before connecting and heat shrinking the wires. Maybe not a big deal to an experienced installer but I really had no idea how long this would take. Thankfully, there are several good videos on connecting wiring harnesses on Youtube and that gave me all the information I needed to go forward. All told, the total install may have taken me 60-90 minutes to complete and I am sure I can beat that in my next car!
Pros: It worked perfectly once I figured out what I was going to do.
Cons: The instructions were very basic and, with me being a newbie, I had to turn to Youtube to get an idea of what I needed to do. Once I did, however, their instructions all made sense.

C2R-CHY4 Install
Noel from Wahsington on 2/8/2014
Unfortunately this was third wiring harness which could have been avoided by calling Crutchfield first. This was only an issue due to the vehicle had a CAN-BUS system which is a nightmare (my opinion). There is also a mistake in the wiring diagram sent by Crutchfield that states the 12V+ needs to go to a 12V+ when the vehicle is on (cigarette lighter). This will cause a multitude of issues with the CAN-BUS system and shouldn't be connected to an external power source (keep wiring inside the wiring harness).
Pros: Good labeling of the wires and easy to install.
Cons: Watch out for the 12V+ acc mistake in the instructions as it is incorrect. Also would be great if the front to rear fade would work but this is an issue with the CAN-BUS and the factory amplifier and not the C2R-CHY4 harness.

2011 Ram 1500 stereo upgrade made easy using the PAC C2R-CHY4 Factory
Rammand from Winder, GA on 6/22/2013
Using this device made installing my aftermarket head unit a breeze to install. You just have to make sure that you read the wiring instructins on both the pac unit and your head unit. Sometimes you might have to review the instructions a couple of times before connecting the wires. If you do this you wont have any problems at all. However should you have any trouble Crutchfield is just a phone call away. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. I hope it will help you to put aside any doubts you might have about being able to install your head unit!
Pros: Very easy to install. Works perfectly in 2011 dodge ram 1500. Keeps all important features active after new head unit is installed.
Cons: The price is a little high. But if you are considering the purchase of a new head unit then take advantage of Crutchfield's offer of 50% off the price of this unit with the purchase of a new stereo from them.

Good Product, Great Support
Stinger62 from Little Neck, NY on 6/4/2013

The product came with great support but I was unable to get it to operate properly. I was unaware that I had a separate amplifier and thus I could not get the new system to operate properly.
Pros: Simple, easy to follow wiring diagrams.
Cons: I did not know how to by-pass the amplifier.

Ok, but needs improvement
Kevin from Grand Rapids, MI on 5/13/2013
2009 Jeep Wrangler
The actual connector part is nice in the fact that it mates up perfectly with the factory harness connection. What's not so nice is the fact you have to solder or splice all of the wires to the connector that goes to the radio (so much for plug and play). I used some crimp connectors and that helped a lot (the kit really should supply these for the cost). The instructions are a little confusing and you probably will have to call Crutchfield support at some point during your install, like to figure out if you need any of the extra wires that it has. I agree with the other Wrangler owners that there isn't much room behind the radio for the actual module, so you just have to squeeze it in wherever you can.
Pros: The wires are color coded and match the ones from the radio harness
Cons: Unclear instructions, no supplied connectors/splices

poor instructions
onarom from Birmingham, AL on 2/22/2013
Cons: -The instructions are horrible. I probably spent an hour trying to decipher how to connect the wires. -They send you two different connectors but don't tell you which one you need to use. -Takes up a lot of room -Not cheap Pros: - It does what it is suppose to do. My stereo works - You always have Crutchfields tech support if you need it.

PAC
meh from Blue Mountains, PA on 2/12/2013
2007 Jeep Wrangler
Meh, is right. Not sure if this piece is really worth the dollar amount. Kinda confusing because of the 2 small plugs that come with each set of wires.
Pros: One of two harnesses was a match to OEM plug
Cons: Had to solder wires to Kenwood unit after taking out OEM radio and figuring out which harness to use. Not really sure that the PAC actually helped with this install as not much integration with my Wrangler. Costly for basically just a wiring harness.

Poor wiring diagram
Matty ice from Staten Island,NY on 1/17/2013
2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I only got this because I was advised that with my jeep wrangler, I needed it so that the new stereo would work. The wiring diagram that came in the package was pretty poor. I had to call Crutchfield a few times to get it right. They were very helpful each time and got me through it. The opening in my jeep was very tight. There was not a lot of room behind the stereo. This adapter is not huge but seems to take up a lot of space where there is none. I had to move it around a few times so I could slide the radio all the way back. If I wasn't told that I needed it I wouldn't have gotten it. I will trust that Crutchfield gave me good advice.
Pros: Only use if necessary
Cons: Takes up extra space where there is none.

It does the job. You don't have the need of stripping the wires anymore. It makes the job a lot easier, and if you use the Posi-ProductsT Car Stereo Connectors is even easier making the connections.
Pros: Fast and easy connection with no mess.
Cons: Terminology can vary between units and harness.

Easy work, once you get it all laid out. I use male/female connectors so that I can move them around I don't correctly connect them the first time.
Pros: Plug and play, once you get the splicing done
Cons: It would help to have the wires numbered as well as color coded, for us color blind people.

A lot of wires
Sonsword from VA on 6/18/2012
2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I guess I am use to a wireing harness having plugs on both ends, but not the case here. A plug on one end for the car and a mess of wires on the other. The instructions were useless as I also had the steering wheel adapter wires to contend with. It is NOT color matching. I guess I was foolish to thin this was a harness for a Pioneer to a Chrysler instead of anything to a Chrysler. Thank god for Crutchfield being on the ball and able to tell me over the phone (10 minues) what wire to what wire. I then spent another 30 stripping and connecting wires just for the harness.
Pros: it works
Cons: instructions are terrible

joe from eagan, mn on 6/15/2012

Much more involved than I was prepared for. I was under the impression I could just connect a few harnesses together by snapping into some sockets. This setup required me to splice close to a dozen different wires together. I ended up returning the radio to Crutchfield.
Pros: never found any
Cons: Not ready for prime time as far as simplicity.

Works well
Wayne from South Jersey on 4/24/2012
2005 Dodge Durango
I used this device on my 2005 Durango to install a new Kenwood navigation unit. While some people complain about the instructions, they covered everything I needed to install it properly. I've done 5 or 6 radio replacements in the past on various cars, so maybe the instructions are easier when you already know what you are doing. Plug and play is correct for connecting to the factory adapter, but like any install, you will need to solder or crimp to the harness for the radio. This worked will with the SWI-JACK to maintain steering wheel controls. The only mistake I made was from reading to fast - if you have the factory Infinity amp, you need to install the front speaker wires from the radio to the rear speaker wires on this box.
Pros: easy to install, works
Cons: none

PAC Chrysler Radio Replacement Interface
John F. from Panama City Beach, FL on 4/8/2012
2010 Dodge Ram 1500
Used this in my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. If you don't have steering wheel controls for your stereo, just tape off the interface marked SWC and let it hang.. Plug the CAN interface into the blue PAC. If you have "extra" wires like I did off the CAN interface (green, red/white and purple/white wires), just tape them off and let them hang. I also had the blue wire (antenna on input wire) extra and just taped it off and let it hang. Clip off the ground terminal on the black wire of the radio harness and connect that black wire to the black wire of the PAC. Use the red press on type wire connectors (18-22 ga wire type) that can be purchased anywhere for all connections. Hope this helps someone.
Pros: It works.
Cons: The acronyms used in the instructions for some wires weren't explained, but they were wires I didn't need to connect to anything anyway.
