Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
its short but well made.
Why worry about carrying your iPod cable with you when you head out to the car? Use this CD-iU51 cable to connect your iPod to your Pioneer car stereo and leave your original iPod USB cable in the house. And you'll enjoy optimal charging speed when your iPod is connected, since this cable will work with newer Pioneer receivers with 1-amp USB outputs. This cable only supports audio playback — it will not transfer video to your receiver. Warranty: 1 year.

its short but well made.
I got this for my daughters Iphone. We haven't used this yet.
Pros: It is just a cord
Works great with my Pioneer receiver. It's pretty cool to just plug in my Ipod and throw it out of site and have all the controls at my receiver.
Pros: Easy install and use.
Works good, but its only about 18" long
Pros: High quality
Cons: too short
Works great. Very convenient
Pros: Great product
This patch cord is a must have. You will experience your music from your iPhone or iPad like you never have. The clarity is incredible. Huge improvement over using a mini headphone patch cord. No more hiss just clear digital sent sound to your deck.
Pros: It works great
Cons: There aren't any
Keeps my regular USB cable in the house were it belongs. The thickness of gauge & insulation is ideal for transfer of sound quality & protection.
Pros: Love the length. I was able to route & velcro the cord down into my glove compartment.
This is a nice addition, if you have the money, but it is not absolulty needed for the install. You could probably just use your standard cable, that comes with the IPOD...
Cable works great for ipod hookup - just the right length
Pros: Works perfect
Good thick cord but a little short. It has a nice dust cover
Pros: Dust cover and thick cord
Cons: Short cord
Good product.works well
After reading the other reviews, I was a little nervous that the cable would be shorter than the advertised 22.5". When I received the cable, it did seem shorter than 22.5" but when I measured it, it actually IS 22.5". Luckily, the head unit I purchased came with a USB extension cable which I ran from the radio to the glove box, then I just plugged in this cable into the extension. It is a very thick, sturdy cable which may be the reason that it appears shorter than 22.5". Works great. I feel like it is a little overpriced which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
Pros: Very good quality cable.
Cons: Make sure you pull out a tape measure and see how long 22.5" really is and see if it will be long enough for your planned application.
Cord works very well but it is at least 1 foot shorter than really what it should be for the glove compartment hookup needed.
I'll say this - it connects the iPod to the USB on the back of my head unit, and it does indeed work. That's about it. The details page for this item say it's 22.5" long - it most definitely is not. 12.5" is more like it. For the price, you would be far better served going to the store and getting a real iPod cable - one that actually reaches somewhere you'd want your iPod to be! UPDATE 12/12/12: I'm happy to report that the cable is extremely sturdy with a thick protective insulation. It has held up very well so far for me. Be sure to measure for this application however. If you have a front USB port on your head unit, this may be the perfect solution for you. If however, your USB is located on the back of the unit, you may find this cable to be too short without an extension cord.
Pros: Connects the iPod to the head unit, and transmits the signals like it's supposed to. Thicker wire insulation, cover on iPod connector
Cons: Extremely (almost unusably) short. Wouldn't reach from my stereo location to the glove box! Good thing I got a mounting kit with my head unit that has a storage compartment built-in, because that was literally about as far as it would reach. Way to expensive for what you get.
