About the Pioneer DEH-P6700MP
There are few things in car audio as stunning as Pioneer's Organic EL display, and the DEH-P6700MP CD receiver is more than proud to show it off! Its full-motion animation and 3D graphics add serious flash to any dash, and its day-or-night legibility is legendary.
And even better, the DEH-P6700MP makes one spectacular-sounding receiver, too! Its MOSFET50 amp will drive your tunes forcefully, so you get a full, rich sound. Easy EQ gives you the option of five preset EQ curves, or you can create a curve that sounds just right in your vehicle with its 3-band parametric EQ. Two sets of preamp outputs let you connect external amplifiers, and built-in high- and low-pass filters tailor the receiver's output for maximum system efficiency.
Your entertainment options are as wide as the day is long. You can play a host of standard audio and home-burned CDs, but you also have the option of bringing along the discs you've loaded with your favorite MP3 and WMA files. That's a neverending stream of music!
The famous Supertuner IIID tuner locks on tightly to your favorite radio stations. And, because too much is never enough, you can also use the DEH-P6700MP to enjoy everything that satellite radio has to offer just add a compatible XM or SIRIUS tuner, antenna, and subscription.

Deep Blue OEL Display: The deep blue OEL (Organic Electroluminescent) display features incredible brightness, clear readability, wide-angle viewing and full-motion 3D graphics. Because OEL creates its own electroluminescent light, its brightness is resistant to washing out in sunlight.
Entertainment Display Modes: You can choose from the following Entertainment Display Modes:
- Background Visual: In Background Visual mode, you can select one of the following background visuals: Background Visual 1 (moving horizontal lines of light), Background Visual 2 (grid where the squares illuminate alternately), Background Visual 3 (moving patterns of light), or Background Visual 4 (level meter with moving geometric shapes).
- Level Indicator: In Level Indicator mode, you can select one of the following level indicators: Level Indicator 1 (two analog VU meters) or Level Indicator 2 (four lines of light that move with the music).
- Movie Screen: In Movie Screen mode, you can select one of the following movie screens: Movie Screen 1 (vehicles racing through the city streets) or Movie Screen 2 (swimming dolphins).
- Entertainment Clock: In Entertainment Clock mode, the unit displays the clock surrounded by moving shapes.
Display Brightness: The display brightness can be adjusted from 0 to 15.
Demo Modes: This unit has a Reverse Demo Mode and a Feature Demo Mode. In Reverse Demo Mode, if you do not perform an operation for a period of 30 seconds, the display begins reversing colors. It continues reversing colors every 10 seconds until a button is pushed. When the unit is turned off, the Feature Demo Mode is activated. The Feature Demo Mode displays the unit's different features and capabilities using moving graphics.
MOSFET50 Internal Amplifier: This receiver is equipped with a 50 watts x 4 (peak) MOSFET amplifier for low distortion, high power output.
Satellite Radio Tuner Compatible: This unit can control an optional Pioneer XM or SIRIUS tuner (sold separately).
Easy EQ Curves: This model has "SUPER BASS", "POWERFUL", "NATURAL", "VOCAL", "CUSTOM", and "FLAT" preset EQ curves. The "CUSTOM" curve is one that you create and store in memory. A separate "CUSTOM" curve can be created and stored in memory for each source.
EQ-EX: This feature allows you to boost the current EQ setting for even more powerful sound.
3-Band Parametric Equalizer: This unit includes a 3-band parametric EQ with Selectable Q Factor. You may select a low (40, 80, 100 or 160Hz), mid (200, 500, 1k or 2kHz) and high frequency (3.15k, 8k, 10k or 12.5kHz) to boost or cut within a range of -6dB to +6dB. The Q factor (slope of the boost or cut) may be selected from one of the following four options: 2N (narrow), 1N, 1W and 2W (wide). Selecting a narrow (steep) Q factor results in frequencies around the center frequency to be affected less by the boost or cut than they are with a wide Q factor. This feature is useful for taming frequency response problems caused by the dimensions, materials and speaker locations of a vehicle.
Selectable Bass and Treble Cut-off Frequencies: The cut-off frequencies for the bass and treble controls can be set independently of the 3-band parametric equalizer adjustments. The bass cut-off frequency can be set to 40Hz, 63Hz, 100Hz or 160Hz. The treble cut-off frequency can be set to 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 6.3kHz or 10kHz. The bass and treble controls have an adjustment range of -6 to +6.
Adjustable Loudness: You can select "Low", "Mid" or "High" for different levels of loudness compensation.
Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4 dB to +4 dB.
High-pass Filter: When you don't want sound in the subwoofer frequency range output from the front and rear speakers, you may activate the built-in high-pass filter. You may select a filter frequency of 50Hz, 80Hz, or 125Hz.
Subwoofer/Non-fading Preouts: In addition to the front preamp outputs, there is one set of outputs that may be set for "subwoofer" or "non-fading" output. When set to "non-fading", the signal is full range and the output level is user selectable from -6 to +6. When set to "subwoofer", the outputs are non-fading, and they may be set for normal or reverse phase, 50Hz/80Hz/125Hz low-pass output, and the level is user selectable from -6 to +6.
Rear Channel Output: You can choose to use the rear channel speaker output for full-range speakers or subwoofers. If you select "subwoofer", you can connect a 4-ohm subwoofer directly to each rear speaker lead without using an external amplifier.
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
MP3/WMA Playback: This unit can play MP3/WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. MP3 files with a bit rate from 8-320 kbps, WMA files with a constant bit rate from 48-320 kbps, and WMA files with a variable bit rate from 48-384 kbps are supported.
Compression and BMX Functions: Using the "COMP" (compression) and "BMX" functions, you can adjust the playback quality of the CD player. Each function may be set to one of two levels or off. The "COMP" function compresses the audio signal to eliminate distortion caused by the imbalances between the loudest and softest sounds when played at high volumes. The "BMX" function controls sound reverberations to give playback a fuller sound.
CD-R/CD-RW Skip Function: Some CD-R/W recorders allow you to assign skip ID tags to tracks that you never want to hear. When a track has been assigned a track skip ID, compatible units will recognize the skip ID information and skip over that track. This player recognizes track skip IDs, so CD-R and CD-RW discs with skip ID information will be played back as intended.
Disc Title Memory: Titles of up to 10 characters each can be entered into memory for up to 48 discs. When a compatible changer is connected, titles of up to 10 characters each can be entered into memory for up to 100 discs in the changer.
Optional Aux Input: When used with item 130CDRB10 (sold separately) or item 130CDRB20 (sold separately), this unit can accept input from an auxiliary source, such as a portable CD or MD player. When item 130CDRB10 is used, a CD changer cannot be connected to this unit. Item 130CDRB20 allows you to connect an optional Pioneer CD changer and an auxiliary source to this unit.
Dimmer Feature: When the illumination wire of this unit receives power and the dimmer feature has been turned on in the "Initial Setting" menu, the display will dim to a preset level. When the power and constant wires are connected and the illumination wire is supplied with voltage (when you turn your lights on), the button illumination remains on even if the unit is turned off completely.
Warning Tone: If the front panel is not detached from the head unit within four seconds of turning off the ignition, a warning tone will sound. This feature can be turned On or Off.
ITS (Instant Track Selection) Programming: The ITS function can be used to program automatic playback of up to 99 tracks per disc for up to 100 discs. With changers sold before the CDX-P1250 and CDX-P650, up to 24 tracks can be stored in the playlist.
Disc Title Memory: Titles of up to 10 characters each can be entered into memory for up to 100 discs.
Disc Title List: This feature allows you to display disc titles that you have entered. From the list, you can select a disc for playback.
CD Text Display: When used with a CD Text compatible Pioneer CD changer, this unit will display the titles of CD Text encoded discs that are played in the changer. When playing a CD Text disc on a CD Text compatible changer, you cannot switch to the Disc Title Input mode. CD Text disc titles, artist names and track titles longer than 16 characters may be scrolled to reveal the entire string of text.
CD Sound Quality Adjustment: Using the "COMP" (compression) and "DBE" (dynamic bass emphasis) functions, you can adjust the playback quality of the changer. Each function may be set to one of two levels or off. The "COMP" function compresses the audio signal to eliminate distortions caused by the imbalances between the loudest and softest sounds when played at high volumes. The "DBE" function boosts bass frequencies to give your music a more full sound.
Note: For these functions to work, they must be supported by the Pioneer CD changer.
DVD Operation: This unit can control an optional Pioneer DVD player or DVD changer.
Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the source button turns off audio output, but the clock display remains on. When the Clock Display has not been turned on, pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely. This unit's clock is "keyed" only when the Clock Display has been turned on. When power is supplied to both power wires and the illumination wire is not receiving voltage, nothing illuminates if the Clock Display has not been turned on and the unit is off.
Note: When the power and constant wires are connected and the illumination wire is supplied with voltage (when you turn your lights on), the button illumination remains on even if the unit is turned off completely.
