This is a powerful tool for your car stereo. The EQ flexibility is amazing and many of the pre-fabricated EQ selections are well done. The balance, fader, and time delay adjustments work very well. Sadly, the "Room" simulations are too reverberant, which muddies the front soundstage. The owner's "manual" that accompanies the unit is hard to read and leaves a lot out. There are some operational instructions that can be accessed through the Sound Tune App that runs the unit, which are quite helpful, complete with screen shots. This unit relies on your smartphone to communicate to/from the unit, so, beware, you need two-way connections/cabling between your phone and the unit. Operating the unit in the Sound Tune app is not always intuitive and one must go through several menus for some of the fine tuning options. This unit is suited more for a true gearhead, rather than a casual enthusiast.
Pros: Great EQ Options. Balance, fader, and time delay adjustments. Nice to have a four channel amp included! For the Gear Enthusiast.
Cons: Room simulations muddy soundstage. Set-up instructions/owner's manual is confusing. Some operations in the Sound Tune App are not intuitive or are hidden in menu layers. Not for the faint of heart!

So this unit gives you spectacular sound once it is in and equalized - HOWEVER - 1) If you use Android Auto or Car Play to stream your music, you will need (2) devices to set the equalization - one to plug into the head unit and one to plug into the EQ (I used my Android phone with the head unit and an Ipad into the DEQ-S1000a) 2) It stores the memory for the EQ in the app on the smart device not in the unit, and forgets the EQ settings when powered down. You will need to initialize the unit with the Sound Tune app every time you turn on the car. I have to start my car with my phone plugged into the DEQ-S1000a and then switch the USB cable to the head unit every time I start my car. This adds about a minute of fussing with cables in the parking space every time I get in my car. Not a huge deal, but definitely an unnecessary inconvenience. I had imagined only having to use the app when making changes to the device settings, not every time I boot up the unit. I guess this only matters if you are using Android Auto or Apple Car Play to stream your music but let's be frank - if you are buying an EQ with app based UI, you aren't listening to your eight track player. I would give this unit five stars for the sound at the end of the hassle, but the day to day operation is just unnecessarily clunky. Really? They couldn't find an SD card to store the settings in??
Pros: Sound and EQ options are great. Fantastice sound clarity.
Cons: Loses all of your settings every time it powers off, needs to be reset with the app every time you start the car (luckily app at least stores settings)

This amp cannot be used with a component system! Pioneer told me....it will NOT utilize the DSP function and only the EQ function with a multichannel component system. This will only work with a full range input.
Pros: The EQ is spot on cool. It made me want to put an old phone in my car as a digital EQ because it works good and looks cool.
Cons: DSP doesn't work for me. It is a glorified EQ without full range input.

The vehicle i installed into was a 2005 Subaru Legacy and there is no option for an aftermarket head unit with the automatic climate control, The pioneer S1000A seemed like a good alternative which it is But it does not work with all android phones luckily I had my old iPhone laying around And I was able to use it to set up the DSP. Unfortunately I have to buy a Bluetooth adapter for me to be able to use my android phone other than that the product is really great made my stock speakers sound better. Hopefully this helps out the next guy look it up by this DSP
Pros: Excellent sound quality and easy to hook up with very little wiring
Cons: Does not work with all android devices

Great way to improve factory detuned systems, but headunit may be clearer sounding. It will though make your factory stereo play a must wider and more complete frequency range. Easy to set crossovers and each speakers level. It is a lot to learn as there are 4 modes that have distinct sounds and quirks. Volume cannot be controlled via factory knobs and buttons in certain modes. And the remote is a easy way around this, but the remote will not quickly run volume up and down it's a press, press, press kinda deal. My favorite part about this is having a DSP that can be mounted anywhere due to fairly small size and no need in being able to access it to make adjustments! Lastly I cannot attest the power it outputs to speakers as mine runs through a four channel amp. But wouldn't count on it rocking your world!
Pros: Easy adjustment after initial install.
Cons: Modes and different ways to operate through or around dsp completely! May just be learning curve.

Straight forward Integration. Sound has improved dramatically. Installed in my Nissan Altima SR with 6 speakers (Infinity tweeters, 5.25 doors, and 6x9 back). DSP fixed the poor signal delivered by the OEM Radio. Excellent customer service (Gil), fast delivery, and accurate description.
Pros: Fair price for DSP Sound Fidelity Very easy installation (for dummies) Works with 2 ohms speakers
Cons: USB cord Should be longer.
