Well made box. Purchased for a JL tw3-d4 shallow mount sub. Installed a new mdf deck on top and made a new cutout. Airspace is perfect for this application and works perfectly. I took out the wires that came with the box and soldered in new 12 gauge wires to sub.

This is the third pioneer Shallow mount box i have purchased because they are really great quality items. the bass sounds deep and clear and the box construction is very strong.

Pros: Small size box doesn't take alot of room in your trunk but delivers great bass.

Cons: They don't come in a 15 inch that would be great .

Nice box but watch the cut out diameter

I ordered this box because it was the correct internal volume for the sub I had bought and it would fit nicely under the rear sear of my 03 Silverado SS Ext Cab. The box is well built and looks nice except for the huge Pioneer logo on one side. The only issue to warn you about with this box is it has a very large hole cut. The cutout is 11 3/4" which seems to be the requirement for the newer generation of shallow mount Pioneers and JL Audios. Unfortunately my sub only needed 11 1/8" which made it near impossible to drill holes properly and get a good seal. I didn't think 5/8" would be that detrimental, but it is. Unfortunately I did drill some holes in the box. I need to contact Crutchfield to see what my options are. As usual though, Crutchfield was awesome!

Pros: Nicely built box.

Cons: Woofer cut out diameter. Beware!! Cheesy Logo too!

Product Research

Features

Compatibility: This enclosure is designed for a single Pioneer 12" shallow-mount component subwoofer, TS-SW3002S4 (item number 130TSS3002, sold separately).

Materials: The box is constructed of 5/8" MDF (medium density fiberboard). MDF resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Design: Complementing the shallow subwoofer, this enclosure provides the smallest sealed box volume recommended for the TS-SW3002S4. The UD-SW300D enclosure will fit under the seat of some vehicles. The exterior is covered with black auto carpet.

Terminals: The spring post wire terminals, located on the side of the enclosure, will accept bare wire (up to 10 gauge), pin connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, a 15" length of speaker wire is attached to the terminal (bare wire at the other end).

I have a 2006 Silverado 2500HD with an extended/quad cab so space is tight in the cab. After measuring, this sub box fits perfectly on either side of the truck underneath the rear seat. Also to my delight, there is enough space between the top of the box and the bottom of the seat to install the amp right on top of the box. [ Carter  Feb 22, 2017 ]

Would this fit in a 2018 double cab tacoma?
[ bguanio  Oct 02, 2018 ]

A
We do not have the available mounting space dimensions in your Tacoma. We do provide the dimensions of the enclosure which you can use to cross-reference against the space you find in your desired mounting location: 20-5/8"W x 6-1/2"H x 13 7/8"D

Q
Will the Jensen dubw12 fit in this enclosure?
[ Timothy  Sep 05, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
I'm afraid not--the max depth that will fit the Pioneer UD-SW300D enclosure is 4-5/16" while the Jensen DUBw12 is 5-3/8" deep. The UD-SW300D enclosure was designed specifically for the Pioneer TS-SW3002S4 12" subwoofer: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSS3002/Pioneer-TS-SW3002S4.html I hope that helps. Will this box fit in a gmc Sierra 1500 crewcab non HD?
[ Brent  Jan 10, 2016 ]

A
Our vehicle specific research doesn't include measurements for subwoofer box mounting. This Pioneer box measures 20-5/8"W x 6-1/2"H x 13 7/8"D though, so your best option would be to measure the area in your truck on your own where you plan on mounting it to see if it would fit. Q
I'm using this with the TS-SW300S4 with no polyfill. Has anyone tried it stuffed? If so, any benefits? Since this box is made for the TS-SW300S4, is stuffing the box even necessary?
[ E  Jan 29, 2015 ]

A
I recently added some polyfill to this box to tighten up some of the boom. Polyfill will make a box act like it's larger. So if this enclosure is a bit too small for your particular driver, adding polyfill will help keep it from sounding way too "boomy" and tighten up the bass. rule of thumb is 16 oz of polyfill per cubic foot of volume. I took into account my subwoofer's displacement when surface mounted and put roughly 10oz of polyfill into the box. I may add a bit more since my ear isn't quite pleased yet. hope this helps.
[ Paul  Feb 04, 2015 ]
A
In my experiences it is always good to put some polyfill or fiberglass in the enclosure. It helps dampen the back waves from the woofer. Everytime I have tried boxes with and without fill I always preferred the sound filled. 1/2 pound of fill would be the most I would put in this box. Try it yourself and see which way you like it. It can be purchased at hobby and craft stores for cheap.
