About the Pioneer DVC-505
What a steal for barely more than the price of a CD changer alone, Pioneer brings you a 5-disc carousel changer that plays DVDs and many types of audio discs! If you've been waiting for the right opportunity to get into the fun of DVD, this might just be it!
Thanks to Pioneer's Twin-Wave laser pickup, the DVC-505 can read DVDs, CDs, audio CD-Rs and CD-RWs, and even long-playing MP3 CDs. DVDs look great and CDs sound great. And this changer is ready to keep more of your disc collection in rotation you can change up to 4 discs while the 5th keeps playing, for nonstop music and movies.
For maximum TV hookup compatibility, all three types of video jacks are included: composite, S-video, and component. Optical and coaxial digital audio outputs provide the Dolby® Digital or DTS® bitstream for your compatible home theater receiver.

5-Disc Carousel with Exchange: This unit uses a carousel mechanism which will hold up to five discs (5" or 3") at a time. You can change up to four of the discs while the fifth disc is playing.
Set-up Navigator: The set-up navigator simplifies initial set-up of the DVD player by presenting a series of on-screen multiple choice questions which set the audio, video, and language of the unit.
192kHz/24-bit Audio D/A Converter: This unit has a 192kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter for superb sound quality and it can playback 96kHz/24 bit linear PCM audio. Some 96kHz DVDs are copy protected; when a copy protected 96kHz disc is played, the digital signal is automatically down converted to 48kHz.
Dolby Digital, DTS and MPEG Audio Compatibility: This DVD player will pass Dolby Digital, DTS, and MPEG digital bitstream output through the digital outputs.
MP3 Playback: This unit will play MP3 files recorded onto CD-R, CD-RW, or CD-ROM discs using the ISO 9660 Level 2 format. Multi-session MP3 discs are not compatible (only the first session will play) and a maximum combination of 250 folders and tracks are recognized.
Component Video Outputs: In addition to composite and S-video outputs, this unit is equipped with a set of component video outputs (Y, Pb, Pr) for improved video quality when connected to the component video input on a compatible television.
Resume: When playback of a DVD is stopped, it can be resumed at the same point as long as it stays in the play position.
Frame by Frame Playback: Video can be viewed frame by frame on DVD.
Fast Forward/Reverse Scan: Scanning is not smooth, but it is clear and detailed and does not tend to pixelize. There are three scan speeds in both directions, 5x, 10x, and 25x (approximately).
Slow Motion Playback: Video can be viewed at 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16 normal playing speed. This playback is fairly smooth and noise free. Note that only two slow motion speeds are available in reverse.
Search: You can search by time, title, or chapter (DVD only).
Repeat: You can repeat track, chapter, title (or disc), and specific points (A-B repeat).
Random: Random playback with delete is available on CD, Video CD and some DVDs. Note that random is available only on one DVD at a time, although it can be used in all Disc mode with CDs and Video CDs.
Aspect Ratio: Depending on the software, you can select the aspect ratio of the image between 4:3 (Pan&Scan), 4:3 (Letter Box), and 16:9 (Widescreen).
Audio and Subtitle Language: If the software has more than one audio and subtitle language, they can be independently changed.
Audio Dynamic Range Compression (DRC): Allows you to compress a DVD's dynamic range on Dolby Digital soundtracks so that soft sounds like dialogue can be heard more clearly without making loud sounds too loud.
TruSurround by SRS: TruSurround/Virtual Dolby Digital simulates multi-channel surround sound using only two speakers.
CD Mode: Using this feature you can play only the audio CDs and MP3s loaded in the player, skipping the DVDs and Video CDs.
Zoom: Using this feature, you can magnify a part of the screen by a factor of 2 or 4, while watching a DVD or Video CD.
Multi-Angle Function: This function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a number of different angles. Note that this function is limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles.
Overview: This DVD player comes with the VXX2811 wireless remote control. The remote allows you to select various settings and view menus on screen. You have control over CD, DVD and Video CD functions such as audio, subtitle, angle, program, repeat, random, and search. Note that the remote controls this unit ONLY.
