Pioneer GM-5400T reviews
Its an excellent amp for a single dual voice coiled sub with a low rms but will handle a little more just seems it wears out quick

Have this pushing a kenwood excellon 8 inch 4 ohm sub. Good power, but runs VERY VERY HOT. It literally feels like touching a catalytic converter on a car. Can't touch it for more than 2 seconds or it will burn your hand. Other than that it is good. Probably wont last long though.

Amp gives good tight sound to my 12" infinity sub. It will take your lows to a new level without being overpowering. Thinking to purchase another one to drive my other speakers.

I just got this amp with 2 12" kicker CVX's for christmas. id have to say im happy the subs were buy one get one free. we hooked them up this morning and the amp only puts 250 watts to each sub when two are hooked up. with one hooked up it puts out 760 watts to it so i would only recommend this amp for a single sub with two hooked up it barely bumped at all it sounded pretty bad. we disconnected one and put the power all to one of them and it bumps HARD.

this amp is great. i just installed my first system and i have two 12'' kenwood KFC W3012's (4ohm, 400rms, 1200 max) in a sealed box running by the pioneer GM-5400T and it wasnt enough lol. i purchased another pioneer GM-5400T and with 4 awg power and ground connected to my capaciter and 14 awg speaker wire they are both bridged and now it really hits.

Great amplifier. I purchased this as part of a complete Pioneer audio upgrade for my car. Works very well and provides excellent bass with a single (bridged) Pioneer TS-W1008D2 10" subwoofer.

This amp works super with 2-12" kickers, you can feel the whole car vibration with volume on 25. It doesn't get hot never shuts off. If your amp shuts off it wasn't installed properly. This amp rocks. I recommend it with 5-star rating. Paired with the kickers subs and a pioneer cd radio, it is hard to beat.

CEA 2006 Compliant: The Pioneer GM-5400T Two-Channel Power Amplifier power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging. CEA2006 Specifications:
- Two-Channel: 125 watts x 2 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
- Bridged: 380 Watts x 1 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
H-Shaped Chassis: The H-shaped bottom chassis utilizes Pioneer's expertise and exclusive technologies to eliminate resonant vibrations. The H-shaped bottom chassis ensures that your music is reproduced as intended, loud and clear.
Superior Ground Parts: High levels of electric current can easily create noise within an amplifier; especially ground noise. To avoid this, Pioneer made careful consideration when designing and selecting components for use within this amplifier. Only the best, most efficient parts were selected after repeated testing to provide a superior noise-free listening experience.
Efficient Sub-Heatsink: When designing the amplifier chassis Pioneer utilized a main heatsink and a sub-heatsink to dissipate heat. These efficient heatsink structures ensure that the amplifier stay their optimal temperature and keep cool.
Gain Control: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, all of Pioneer's GM-series amplifiers feature adjustable gain controls (0.2-6.5V). This means that no matter what kind of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. And even if the gain control level is set improperly, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps to prevent damage from occurring to the amplifier and the speakers connected to it due to improper gain control adjustments.
Low-Pass Crossover: Built into the GM-5400T is a very smart low-pass crossover network. The fixed low-pass crossover routes the big bass signals (80Hz or lower, at -12dB/octave) to the speaker that handles them best, and filters out higher-frequency signals to that speaker. This optimizes your system's efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality.
Bass Boost: Selectable 50Hz Bass Boost gives you more control over how your music sounds. It lets you set the optimal bass level for each speaker/sub connected to the GM-5400T, so the tone controls from your headunit can do what they do best. And because this is selectable bass boost, you can set the level at 0dB, 6dB, or 12dB, whichever sounds best to you.
Power Connections: The power and ground connections are 0.5625" wide screw terminals that will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on terminal is 0.375" wide and will accept up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the power, ground, and remote wires.
Speaker Connections: The speaker terminals are also 0.375" wide and will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the speaker wires.
RCA Input: The amplifier features a pair of gold-plated stereo RCA inputs (left/right).
Speaker Input: The GM-5400T's speaker level inputs and harness allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that does not have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters.
Fuses: The GM-5400T features two 30-amp ATC blade fuses.
