About the Pioneer GM-ME300X4C

Big sound at sea

It takes a lot of amplifier power for your music to be heard clearly over the sounds of the waves, wind, and engine noise. Pioneer's ME-Series GM-ME300X4C four-channel marine amplifier can put out 75 watts RMS per channel, enough for everyone in and around your boat to hear the music. You could bridge a couple channels together to power a sub with up to 150 watts RMS while sending two speakers 75 watts each. You could also use this amp in 2-channel bridged mode to power a pair of high-performance loudspeakers with up to 150 watts RMS each. This marine-rated amp's compact size also makes it a great option for ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles.

Pioneer's ME-Series sweetness

This amplifier's output power matches up perfectly with Pioneer's ME-Series TS-ME650FS and TS-ME650FC marine speakers, which are each rated for 75 watts RMS.

More info

The amp features high- and low-pass filters to tune its output for your speakers and subs and make them sound great. This amp carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, including short periods of immersion in water, its conformal-coated circuit boards and rubber-sealed connector and control panel covers keep water and dirt away from sensitive areas.

Product Research

Features

Marine Amplifier: The Pioneer GM-ME300X4C is a Class-D 4-channel amplifier that can provide 75 watts RMS per channel into a 4Ω or 2Ω load and is designed for the marine environment. The marine amp carries an IP67 rating and is SAE J1171 certified for external ignition protection of marine electrical devices.

CTA-2006 Compliant: CTA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring amplifier power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured over a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz (for full range amplifiers), with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. CTA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare amplifiers and receivers under the same conditions (apples to apples).

CTA-2006 Specifications:

  • Power Output: 75 watts RMS x 4 (@4Ω, 14.4V, 20Hz-20kHz, ≤ 1.0% THD+N)
  • Signal to Noise Ratio: 75dBA

Other Specifications:

  • Power Output: 75 watts RMS x 4 (@2Ω, 14.4V, 20Hz-240Hz, ≤1.0% THD)
  • Signal to Noise Ratio: 95dB (at rated power output)
  • Frequency Response: 10Hz - 50kHz (+0/-3 dB)

Amplifier Topology: The GM-ME300X4C is a Class-D amplifier that features 32-bit floating point DSP to modulate the input signal, improving audio performance for the highest level of accuracy, stability, channel symmetry, and signal-to-noise ratio.

Speaker Level Input: Two sets of RCA input jacks can be used for preamp level or speaker level input signals. If connecting the source unit's speaker wire to the input jacks, use the included Speaker-to-RCA adapters. When using a speaker level input signal, it may not be necessary to connect a remote turn-on lead because of the amplifier's signal sensing function.

Protection Control System (PCS): The GM-ME300X4C features Pioneer's Protection Control System (PCS) that uses a microprocessor to provide thermal protection as well as controlled current and voltage protection.

Controls: The Pioneer marine amplifier's control panel includes a screw-down cover for protection from the elements. An Allen key is provided for accessing the top-panel controls.

  • Gain: rotary control for each set of channels (A & B); adjustment range depends on Input Sens setting; 200mV to 6.5V (preamp level) and 800mV to 16V (speaker level)
  • Input Select: 2-position switch; options for 2CH and 4CH based on number of RCA input channels used, selecting 2CH lets you feed all four channels from one pair of RCAs
  • Input Sens: 2-position switch to select RCA or Speaker-Level input type
  • Frequency: rotary dials for each set of channels (A & B) with 21 steps for Precise Frequency Selection of the crossover point; range from 50Hz to 500Hz
  • Crossover: 3-position switch for each set of channels (A & B); LPF/Off/HPF
  • Speaker Settings: 2-position switch for each set of channels; Mono and 2CH; determines how each set of channels will be configured - stereo or bridged mono

Connections: All of the GM-ME300X4C amp's input and output connections are provided on a single 14" 23-pin harness:

  • RCA Inputs: two pair of stereo RCA inputs; used for both speaker level and preamp level signals
  • Speaker Outputs: four pair of 16 ga. wires
  • Power & Ground: two 10 ga. wires provide the power and ground inputs. An 8 ga. amplifier wiring kit is recommended (sold separately)
  • Remote Turn-on: an 18 ga. wire can be used to activate the amp if using low-level (RCA) inputs
  • Fuses: a single 30-amp ATO fuse is provided on the power input wire
