Pioneer AVH-P2400BT

Bluetooth, built-in
Once you pair your mobile phone with the AVH-P2400BT, you'll never have to fumble for your phone when you're in the car. Just press a button when a call comes in and talk hands-free, just as if the caller is in the car with you. You can also access your phone book from the screen, so outgoing calls are quick and easy to make.

Start playing your music and video
After you've connected your iPod® to the front-panel USB input, you'll be able to use the receiver's controls to access your playlists, while Alphabet Search and other handy tools help you find the song you want in a snap. And the 1-amp USB port will charge your devices quickly. Of course, this Pioneer will play all your discs, including CDs or DVDs you've burned with music files.

The 5.8" LCD screen plays DVDs in bright, clear detail when you're parked. Add Pioneer's CD-IU51V cable to view video content from your iPod or iPhone®, then set up some video screens for your backseat passengers so they can watch movies or other video content while you drive.

Pandora® control
If you connect your iPhone to the receiver with Pioneer's CD-IU51 cable, you can take charge of your Pandora® account from the touchscreen, complete with thumbs-up and thumbs-down controls.

Rear panel

Strong Pioneer sound
The receiver's built-in amp delivers crisp, clean sound that you can tailor with an 8-band equalizer. If you'll building a system, the three pairs of preamp outputs help you connect and control your external amps.

Add navigation and more
Pioneer's AVIC-U220 navigation module converts the AVH-2400BT into a full-fledged navigation receiver. And you can add a rear-view camera to the receiver's cam input — it'll make backing up in tight spots a lot easier and safer, too.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Pioneer stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Pioneer, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Good product-Pioneer after market service unacceptable

    2004 Ford F-150
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great product for the money...looks great, works(ed) great...until iPhone 5 changeover. Before this I could watch Netflix, view on-screen navigation via Waze or NavFree, watch YouTube videos and videos from my phone and much more. I was very pleased until I upgraded my phone to iPhone 5. None of these features work now. So, if you have an older phone or not an iPhone, you will probably be pleased as I was. If not, shop around for a iPhone 5 compatible device. By the way, Crutchfield customer service rocks. Good job. Pioneer customer service is simply terrible. No follow up, communication or concern about resolving issues. F-. I do realize Apple changed things and caused the issue but...step up Pioneer! I rated it high for the product...not for Pioneer.

Pros: Attractive interface, nice EQ settings, easy to use, Great with older or non iPhone 5 use. Multifunctional. Good Bluetooth.

Cons: Pioneer customer service will leave you hanging. Would have been nice to have USB input on the rear of the unit as well.

Good product but radio signals are weak

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was easy to install and fairly easy to use, although navigating through the menus can be confusing. It looks great and sounds great except radio stations that I could easily pickup from my stock unit do not come in on this one. I don't know if it has a weak tuner or if it is defective in some way (I've checked the antenna connector several times.)

Pros: Easy to install, looks good, Bluetooth works great

    Cons: Weak radio reception

I read the reviews and really thought this would be a great head unit. I was wrong! I now after the install have to take it out and see if it can be repaired. The tuner is horrible! I have loud hiss behind everything. After a thorough inspection of the install. I found out that the deck is bad. Wonderful!!!

    Pros: All the features.

    Cons: All the hiss

Great bang for the buck iphone 5 beware

Great stereo for the money. You really can't beat the features for the price. You get bluetooth, DVD playback, iPhone apps and on screen pandora controls.

Pros: The features really knock this one out of the park. Love how you can change the lighting to match the interior. Beware the red is more pink

Cons: Lost all info on screen once I updated my phone to ios6 when streaming bluetooth

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I shopped around everywhere and this was really the best product for my money. You might be able to find it $10 cheaper online, but you won't get the accessories for free or the tech support. I installed it in our SUV and it made even our stock speakers come to life. Very easy to use and navigate menus. I did not want built in navigation because I prefer a stand alone GPS so I can use my stereo for what they are intended for, music and movies. The Bluetooth works great with our iPhone and android devices. I could not ask for more for the price. Anything more expensive would have been overkill for our family vehicle. The kids love it too!

Pros: Easy to use Sounds great Best bang for the buck Simple Bluetooth setup and functionality

    Cons: None

    2002 Pontiac Sunfire
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this pioneer receiver to replace the stock unit in a 2002 pontiac sunfire. The stock unit had plenty of bass and sounded good but didn't have the options of the newer units, mainly I wanted bluetooth and usb. While installation wasn't a breeze, it wasn't terrible either. The universal mounting bracket supplied by crutchfield was adequate and actually made for a custom appearance. Looks like it was professionally installed. The most difficult part was getting the unit to fit in the dash with the wiring harness and chime box. I bought a video bypass on amazon so I wouldn't have to hunt down the parking brake wire, and it works well. I've had the unit for several weeks and have only gotten happier with it as I've gotten comfortable with the menus. Was disappointed in the sound until I adjusted the sound settings, especially the eq. The factory choices are horrible, but once I set the custom eq settings it made a huge difference in the sound, even with the stock speakers. Couoldn't be happier with the purchase. My usb flash drive stuck out too far on the unit and being just above the drink holder was an accident waiting to happen. I purchased a tiny sandisk cruzer flash drive which is so tiny, it looks like part of the unit and corrected this problem, I can now just leave the flash drive in the port and it's not in the way. DVD's, CD's, digital music and bluetooth all work great. The bluetooth works with my old cell phone. Thanks Crutchfield.

Pros: Options, options, and more options. USB and bluetooth are great.

Cons: Installation a little tedious, but well worth the trouble.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just want to update this thread to let you Pioneer has realeased the firmware on their website to deal with iPhone 5s and iOS6.

Pros: Pioneer actually cared enough about existing users to issue a firmware update. I have yet to try it out but I have faith all the iPhone 5 and iOS6 problems have been solved with this update.

Cons: With decent double DIN units costing upwards of $400 they approach the cost of mobile tablets. I can get an iPad mini for that price. How long before the manufacturers realize they're producing sub-par experiences. If the mobile audio industry doesn't catch up I may start buying Android based head units from overseas. If companies like Pioneer aren't careful they'll get left behind when some upstart company. Anyway, the user interface of this unit is horrible but it's not the worst I've seen.

Installed my Pioneer AVH2400BT 2weeks ago and its been running perfect no issue's the power it puts out is great better then my old Kenwood and loved that deck but I can not hate this Pioneer it does everything I want and more. The screen is clear when watching a video very user friendly for those who have troubles with electronics had a lady friend cruise around and she could get her way around the settings and menu's. The lighting is good being able adjust to whatever color display of light you want cool stuff. Power is great video is great but small screen screen just upgrade to 4400 if its too small no biggie has all the ports plugs you need. the wiring harness was huge a lot of wires for sure only real problem but wasn't that bad just more wires then normal but it was my first Cadillac install. Great deck great big for the price you wont regret it or be disappointed.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For starters, this radio just looks awesome to begin with. This radio comes packed with features that come in handy with multiple inputs and ways to expand the radio. I listen to local broadcast radio, CD's, my iPod/iPhone and SiriusXM via the Pioneer tuner. The audio quality is excellent even with the stock speakers. The system is easy to use and well laid out. The Bluetooth phone feature works well and is very easy to set up and use. The remote comes in handy as well. I hope to add the back-up camera soon.

    Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Could use a little work on the iPod control--when you select a song in a playlist you can't return to the list without having to start over.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great affordable option for cd/iPod/DVD. I added an optional backup camera to the rear av input! You can get any cheap Pyle camera from amazon and it will work with this unit. Most out there will infact! The sound is decent would be greatly improved with amp but its much better than the factory stereo. 1 thing I love is that Bluetooth automatically connects my stock system you had pair it every time. No as soon as I get in boom it connects! Also I did not bypass the DVD player and Bluetooth via ebrake. I just don't want the distraction. It's very easy to do though with the proper relay. Sound is good overall the quality appears nice but already got a scratch on the home button and have no idea how?! Pandora works great! Let me save you some money unless you plan to want to watch videos. Use a regular USB lightning cable for the iPhone 5 or a regular USB for iPhone 4 or iPod. You don't need to spend money for expensive cables any USB cable will do. I haven't had any problem with my iPhone 5 working however the white cable looks a bit tacky with all black. Doesn't bother me enough to spend money on a black cable though. Bluetooth call quality is good you can hear the other person fine and vice Versa. EQ is ok at best. I've seen better from other Panasonic units even. I like the audio my JVC produced slightly better but like I said it not bad at all considering the factory speakers in my 2011 Subaru WRX. I recommend it!

Pros: Great Bluetooth connection. Nice auto connect feature. Sound is good not great but decent. Very user friendly!

Cons: No real cons other than DVD takes a little while to load if you want to play one while waiting somewhere. Stick themes could be better but it does allow you to upload your own theme which is cool.

    Love it!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very happy with this unit. The 3 rca outs are nice and easy to turn on subwoofer and high pass filters. Remote has nice buttons, ease of use and very lite. Was reallty impressed with how easy it is to change source and attach phone via bluetooth. As soon as phone was paired I was able to listen to my vast library of songs on my phone. I can change song and volume from phone, unit or remote. No special app was needed. (I have a Galaxy S2) The screen is smaller compared to the stock screen in our Sonata but this unit fits nicely in the opening of my F350. The picture has great quality but I have yet to watch more then 1 min of a dvd, just wanted to check the work around of parking wire.

Pros: Great price, great features, ease of use.

    Cons: None so far

LukeS from Westfield, PA on 3/1/2013

    2003 Volkswagen Jetta
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This stereo definitely brought my car to life. I enjoy listening to my stereo more than I enjoy driving my car. On long drives, which I frequent, this stereo has every available option you could ask for included or available with an adapter. For the money, it beats many other "premium" brand units in both features and ease-of-use. I can only be critical of a few minor things with this stereo, and those are the BT controls and integration, the physical buttons available, and android support. Before you start thinking I'm going to complain that it doesn't support android, know that I only want to inform the next guy of what to expect. This stereo was designed for use with an iPhone, which is stated clearly in the description. Android 2.3 displays song details on the unit while playing, but as of now 4.0+ android does not. I purchased this unit after the new pioneer models were released, and decided that I liked the old design more as it featured the USB and AUX in the front of the unit. Touchscreens are great, but a physical knob for changing songs instead of a small button on the left that is used all the time would be great. This is partly a big deal because I like to get in my car, never touch my phone, and have it autoplay the next song. Sometimes there are a lot of songs I don't want to hear. The BT controls, especially with android, don't allow you to browse your library on the unit itself. You also cannot fast forward to the middle of songs via touchscreen.

Pros: Amazing value Tons of features and settings for sound and appearances Easy to use with intuitive display Quality sound output with a kick Several connectivity options

Cons: Physical buttons are lacking in way of quick/responsive controls Volume can be touchy On-unit bluetooth controls for Android are limited, especially for more recent versions

    Love it

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this radio very easy to use and the sound is 100 times better now in my car it looks sharp and I can not complain about much except the video feature.... It is awful to hook up as it goes through your emergency brake. I was told that is because it is not legal to have a video player in the front seat... Makes sense but still a disappointment.

Pros: Sound quality and appearance are too I love it

Cons: The video feature was complicated

    Great unit

Kevin from Richmond, BC on 2/27/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Once they released the Bluethooth update the system now streams using IOS6 without any issues. I don't know how it was before as there are some features missing compare to when you connect using the USB cable. Anyhow.... My Vehicle is a Envoy SLT with the Bose system, Onstar and SW control. The CRUX unit intergrated perfectly with it and the support team was great at helping out. with the wiring as the wiring docs was not as "clear" as it could be. There was a huge improvement in the sound quality. BT phone calls (super important) was very clear on both sides. I haven't hooked up the video cable to the e-brake so I can't comment on that, but I don't really care about that feature as the kids all have tablets.

Pros: - Stereo quality; big improvements using the same spearkers - BT pairing was simple and picks my phone up around 5 - 8 sec - BT phone quality is great......for a cell phone and compared to other BT devices I've tried - I do like the fact that it pulls my contact list and recent calls, as well as setting up favorites

Cons: - Wish there was a way you can switch BT source on the Stereo.....If its there I can't find it. or its greyed out - More Metadata control for BT audio streaming as similar to cable hook up - screen would show up with incoming caller. Right now it only shows Incoming or Recieving call.

    2003 Toyota Tacoma
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently installed this head unit into my 2003 Toyota Tacoma and it has improved the sound quality dramatically. I was also able to get rid of multuple, outdated connectivity devices (iPod, satellite radio, etc) and now I have these functions integrated into one unit that decluttered my dash and gave a clean look to my central panel. It works very well with my iPhone via the USB connection, and even shows the song info when using Spotify. Pandora doesn't work in Europe so I can't speak to that feature. The bluetooth works very well and the external microphone cable is long enough that finding a good place to secure it isn't an issue. The parking cable ground was difficult to find and splice into (which you must do to watch DVDs) but this was more a factor of my vehicle design than an inherent problem with the unit. Just make sure you research exactly where this cable is and depending on the thickness of the wire you may have to do it manually instead of using the supplied splicing thing on the end of the green wire from the unit wiring harness.

    Pros: Price, Features, and Performance

    Cons: None

Only complaint is the information about a song is not being displayed when using it through bluetooth. Other than that everything works great. Love the appearance and quality of the product. I installed this Radio with the help of a friend and found the install pretty easy with the exception of the back up camera. Crutchfield customer support was awesome even though I did not buy the camera from them. I previously had Sirius Satellite radio on a factory system but now with all of the options I will probably not re-new that service.

I usually don't review things but this one was worth it. This has to be he best value in a receiver I've ever had...I bought a new car and put this receiver in it. The Bluetooth mic is hands down a 10/10...the ease of use 10/10... install ease is an 8/10...and sound quality from tuning equalizer is a 10/ can connect to your Bluetooth from your phone and listen to your music that way...and the sound quality doing it that way is the exact same as if you used a aux cord! That is what brought me to write a's the best Bluetooth sounding device I've ever used! I have a clarion in my other vehicle and it sucks as far as Bluetooth on the phone and with music... If you're looking for a receiver to do what I described then buy this one! I'm using an iPhone 5 as well. The receiver has brought my speakers to life! I highly recommend this receiver.... Also if you have a phone with xm and pandora no need to run the cord thought the dash or get the stupid adapter xm kit...just use your phone and connect it to Bluetooth! It's the exact same...I'm positive it will work the exact same on an android phone as well. I haven't tried and video but who watches movies in the car anyways when you have a can play the movie through the speakers or just use an ipad lol

Pros: The Bluetooth sound from phone to device is hands down beautiful!

    Cons: Haven't found one!

Pros: Easy to use interface with plenty of options that can be tweaked.

Cons: The auto eq is a waste of time and money, using the auto eq function made this thing sound horrible. The factory preset eq's are perfect though. The only other complaint I have is that the illumination doesn't dim as low as I would like.

I installed the Pioneer AVH-2400BT in my 2002 Ford F250 Lariat PSD. I also added a Boyo VTL425HD backup camera. The Pioneer sounds much better than the factory radio. The hands free bluetooth telephone connection is great. The Pandora app in the radio works well with my USB connected iPhone. My bluetooth connected iPhone worked well for music play back until I updated my iPhone to iOS 6. The Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) is now limited to just play and pause! This issue is exhibited on both the iPhone 4 and 5. Apple says they are following the standard; however, the standard is backwards compatible. Pioneer claims their radio will need a firmware upgrade, but no release date has been given. In short, very disappointed that I lost functionality.

Pros: The Pioneer sounds much better than the factory radio. The hands free bluetooth telephone connection is great. The Pandora app in the radio works well with my USB connected iPhone.

I bought one of these for my 2004 GMC Yukon in May 2012. I liked it so much; I bought a second one for my 2001 Mustang Convertible. Not a single issue to report with either unit. The Bluetooth is flawless and the 8 band equalizer allows this "music nut" to dial in all my tunes. In the Yukon all I installed was this deck. I have the Bose speakers that came with the truck. The sound is incredible, I couldn't be happier. For the Mustang I went all in! I completely tore out the stock sound system (Mach 460). I paired this deck with a JL Audio XD400/4 amp. For speakers; JL Audio C5 570's in the front and C3 600's in the rear. I still cannot believe how awesome my system sounds! Running 70 mph down the highway with the top down is no longer an issue! I get loud, powerful, clear sound and there is volume to spare. I have been working with Crutchfield for more than 15 years and all I can say is they are second to none. They have saved me literally thousands of dollars! A huge THANK YOU to Hogan (xt. 3210) and all the staff at Crutchfield, you have a customer for life!

Pros: Streaming Audio and Hands Free Calling via Bluetooth, 8 band equalizer, Ease of use, Front USB

    Cons: None so far

Originally bought one for my Ford Focus. Loved it. Bought a second one for my daughter's Honda CRV primarily because she likes to talk on the phone and can't go anywhere without Pandora.

Pros: Bluetooth for the iPhone is fabulous. Call clarity is unmatched. People listening to me are amazed that I am hands free. Daughter loves Pandora. Paid for a download subscription to SiriusXM and play it through this unit via my iPhone. Sound quality is great in the Focus with factory speakers. Even better with Pioneer 2 ways in the CRV.

Cons: SiriusXM does not get all of their channels over the Internet. No traffic reports. That's not the radios fault. It's still way cheaper than the box you can purchase for full blown satellite radio.

Installed this in a 2005 F150. Easy install with all the supplied crutchfield supplies. Now for the review. Great DVD player. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a dvd player with bluetooth. Great sound quality, sounds even better than my alpine cd player I had before. For those with an iphone 5/ios 6. If I plug my iphone 5 using my usb cable it works flawless. For bluetooth audio to work I had to update the firmware. Now it works flawless as well. Can control my iphone music via my dvd player/bluetooth and all track information shows up on the display. The only thing that doesn't work is playing a video or app from my iphone 5 to the dvd player. Music works, but video and apps do not work on dvd player. I get sound but no picture. I am using the pioneer cd-iu51v cable with a lightning adapter as I thought this would work but it doesn't. That is the only reason for the 4 star overall rating. Pioneer needs to come out with a lightning cable to resolve this. Otherwise I have no regrets purchasing this dvd player. Bluetooth phone works works great and users say sound quality is really good. My only compliant is not being able to play video or apps from my iphone 5 to the dvd player. I didn't think it would work when I purchased it, but thought I would give it a try. I am using it mainly to stream audio via bluetooth from my iphone to the dvd player and that works perfect after my firmware update.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler 2-door with the stock-130 stereo. I wanted a double-din headunit to replace the factory's unit (which was garbage btw) but was concerned by the "Modified fit" warning Crutchfield had on all the units for my Jeep. Don't worry, you can buy with confidence. The "modification" is a small strip of plastic (located where the top of the radio unit's is housed) must be trimmed off. It prevents the mounting bracket from matching the factory screw locations. I used a utility knife and it took about 30 seconds to remove - there is no major removal of anything. Installation was relatively easy. The unit has a very good sound (I have heard better, but I've paid A LOT more for it too). The unit has a very cool and easy to use display. And you can customize the unit to add features you want - would recommend the HD tuner module. I didn't orignally buy it but I am going to add it now (will post a different review for that). I also didn't want navigation system because you can use your iPhone and bluetooth for turn-by-turn directions, etc. The only complaint I have about the unit is that it does not have a USB port on the back of the unit (only on the front). I would have liked to install a USB cord for iPhone to the back of the unit. I hate having the cord sticking out of the front of the radio and dangling all over the place.

Pros: Works well, Great price, Cool display, Bluetooth is nice

    Cons: no rear USB port

I bought this for my 2005 F350 King Ranch. I was satisfied with my factory stereo but wanted a little more life out of it. I decided to do some research and found this Pioneer. You can't beat the price on it, it's a great deal. I installed it in my truck and even through the factory speakers, you can tell the difference in the sound. Next purchase will be speakers for my truck to get a better sound. One of the things I liked about it was the ability to change the display. I rated the stereo around a 4.5 or so. Just have to get used to it and figure everything out on it, and once that's done...I'm sure this stereo is a 5 star product.

Pros: The customizable EQ, the ability to change the display image, the ability to play DVDs, and of course the price!

Cons: No mention on what Sirius tuner would work on it. Gives the option of XM but I'd rather have Sirius. Even though their the same company. It's a personal preference.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great head unit! I had a Jensen (about 4 years old) with the flip out/up 7" touchscreen but wanted an in-dash touchscreen instead. After doing alot of research and reading reviews on this Pioneer unit, I decided to buy it. The head unit, mounting kit and adapter came very well packaged - lots of extra styrofoam pieces in the shipping box to keep the unit from being damaged during shipment. After researching my current wiring setup and comparing that to the wiring setup of the Pioneer, I decided to install it myself and save about $130 by doing so. I am not a novice when it comes to installing any after-market products on my car but thought I would give it a shot. Installation was easy! The hardest part for me was getting the panel off the dashboard, after that it was smooth sailing. All of the colored wires matched up with the exception of the Parking Brake bypass and Mute wires (because my previous head unit did not have that functionality). I found a Parking Brake bypass on Amazon and installed that as well. The head unit works as advertised and asthetically is very cool! I played with the different color/screen combinations for awhile. This unit also sounds alot better than my old unit. The Bluetooth works flawlessly with my Samsung Galaxy S3 on Android. Despite not being able to utilize the Pandora app on the head unit (since I'm on Android), I can still stream Pandora from my phone to the head unit via Bluetooth. This was a GREAT BUY!!!!

Pros: Awesome sound, easy to use, great video and flawless Bluetooth connectivity

I was excited to purchase this head unit for my wife's 2004 Toyota Matrix. She is somewhat technologically challenged. I am not. My biggest concern was that she would meet her new "radio" and be freaked out by the interface. I was pleasantly surprised at her reaction. After I had explained how to do things, she caught right on. I will say that the interface is quite clunky though and the manual is very poor at explaining features. It constantly refers you to other pages which refer you back to the page you were just on. Anyhow, we both have iPhones. My wife has the 4S and I have the 5. I was looking forward to her being able to stream and control her iPhone via bluetooth. That way she could leave the phone in her purse in the back seat and not worry about having to fish it out. I was sorely disappointed! You can stream the music from the iPhone to the head unit but you cannot control the iPhone whatsoever! Perhaps I am missing something but it did not work for either iPhone. Now once you physically plug in the iPhone, it works as you would expect. But the bluetooth is pretty poor for streaming music and

Pros: Looks nice when installed with the Crutchfield supplied dash kit. Phone calling works well over bluetooth. Plays videos nicely when parking brake is on.

Cons: Poorly implemented Bluetooth for use with iPhones streaming music. Slight clunky and non-intuitive interface.

Tons of Youtube and Crutchfield help with the Pioneer products. Overall completely satisfied with the statement the DVD receiver has made in my dash.

I like this stereo. It has good sound and plenty of volume and the features are nice. For the first time I have a Bluetooth system in my car that WORKS! Everyone can hear me clearly all the time. On the streets and on the highways makes no difference. So for that alone it was worth my purchase. It is able to stream music from my Android phone with no problems. The only drawback is that it is not 100% compatible with all Android devices so things like "pause" and the song's countdown timer do not work. I put over 800 songs on my phone but I cannot search or shuffle any of them on the Pioneer head unit, I still need to go to my phone for that. It has a "Bluetooth update" option but I would be surprised if Pioneer ever came out with a software update.

    Pros: Excellent Bluetooth phone clarity!

Cons: The interface could be a little more robust. It needs better Android integration.

Bought another brand which had problems regardless of the Tech's help. Crutchfield offered to exchange and I got the Pioneer which was a breeze to install without any of the problems experienced by the other brand. Crutchfield sent all hardware and literature needed for self installation including the Dash kit for my Avalon. The Avalon has a 7 speaker JBL system from factory. However, replacing the head unit with this Pioneer 2400BT was so different. It was like night/day. This unit had a lot more Punch and much better sound than the original Head Unit. I don't need to upgrade my speakers anymore. Other reviewers are correct to say that this is one of the most popular and best unit on the market...and yes, buying it from Crutchfield gives you peace of mind that should you run into problems, they'll be readily available to assist at once. I have bought from here before and although the price may be cheaper elsewhere, you cannot match Crutchfield's Customer Service and Sales Staff, including their Tech Support. My daughter fell in love with this unit so after receiving an Email of the New 2500BT with rear USB/AUX, I gave her my 2400BT and now I have the 2500. I'll do a separate review on that unit. Whichever unit you get, you'll be quite happy like us. Thanks Crutchfield and Happy 2013.

Pros: Sound is remarkably better that original head unit. USB/AUX inputs and BlueTooth for my Phone. Expandability and Features. Ease of installation.

Cons: Could be brighter in the daylight. Dimmer wire was not on included hardware connector, but I found the factory wire and made my own connection. Crutchfield assisted with locating the dimmer wire on the factory harness.

'12 Altima...I just got the radio the other day, very fast even though UPS runs late to my place but I've never done a audio job before but after a buddy said Crutchfield was the way go. Whats the harm. Pretty Much everything youre getting is what you need and in the directions. Thought it wasnt for a sec but after a trip to a local store i discovered i already had the adapter. The Hardest part kinda is getting the Stock Stereo out. (Flat head screw driver and not to much muscle). You will need a wire/crimp kit (shrink tube works the best) and a lighter. The Stereo works Great, user friendly, Just made my car come alive. Sat in it for about an hour after install just wondering why did i go this long with out it and for the price and options you cant beat it. Before you do anything please sit down and do the wiring from the adapter to the radio harness. didnt hook up the parking brake, not really concerned about watching movies in my car. once you see how easy it is, you'll be quite mad why they charge you so much on something you can do yourself with coffee and a pair of reading glasses.

Great product! Installed in a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. Excellent features, especially the bluetooth. Unit identified my phone but could not connect. According to Pioneer, they do not support the phone I have which is a Net10 Motorola w409G (Check Pioneer website for supported phones). Not a big deal for me, I only got the blue tooth because Crutchfield had the same Pioneer 2400BT for the same price a local store wanted for the Pioneer 1400. And if I do upgrade to a supported phone, I'll have the capability. Since I am used to touch screen devices at work and home, the learning curve was minimal. However, for someone who is not, it may be a little awkward and frustrating to learn. But like anything in the tech world, once you learn how, it is easy. And I found the Pioneer interface very easy and intuitive. The vehicle I installed it in had the monsoon system (moon and tunes) package, installation required a SOEM-4 adapter for the sub. The adapter is rather large but the vibe had room "directly"under" the stereo. I had some problem after installation with the wires interfering with the heater/ac controls and had to reposition the wires accordingly. I would assume this would be a problem in any vehicle where the heater/ac controls are directly under the stereo, especially if they need the soem-4 adapter. A special note to Crutchfield sales and support. They were extremely helpful during this installation, espcially with the requried adapter for the sub.

Pros: Ability to change colors to match vehicles interior. Good build, great sound, clean fit and look.

Cons: As with any new tech, especially a touch screen system, it takes some time get familiar with operation.

I bought this unit to replace the stock unit in my wifes 2007 Honda Odyssey. I also bought the XM unit to go along with this DVD receiver and my wife loves it. It does everything she wants, DVD, CD, XM, Bluetooth, USB port, Pandora, Aux port, wireless remote. Who could ask for anything more.

Pros: Great sound, DVD playback, USB port, Bluetooth. Would buy again.

Cons: Volume level changes a lot between the different types of sources.

I bought this to install in my 2005 F150 SCrew, to replace factory. With the help of the supplied harness and the detailed instructions supplied (and brackets) it took me LESS than 30 minutes until I was watching and listening to music and videos! I did some pre planning by making the harness connections in the house (soldered), and basically created a harness bundle for Plug'n Play. Suggestion if you have my same vehicle - make sure you remove the TABS as instructed - easy to do I used a hacksaw blade. The day after installing, I took my X-Mas trip to Atlanta - 11 hour ride. Having the USB hppked up helped ease the need to search for music. Once I got to Atlanta, my son should me how to do Bluetooth - and now I am streaming Pandora off of the EVO - neat - starts when I get in the truck! Overall a GREAT investment - Great value - don't know how I could do without now!

Pros: Ease of install, easy to use, quality, quality, quality! Probably will add the HD module or the GPS later - really don't need since my EVO GPS instructions can be heard through BlueTooth while listening to Pandora!

Cons: Absolutely NONE! Just be sure to prewire - and read all directions...especially cutting off the "tabs".

This radio was pretty easy to install on my 2003 Infiniti G35 manual 6sp. I like this radio for the fact that it comes with the built in bluetooth for hands free driving so now i can be totally road vigilant while driving. Other features I like are the contacts the phone will sync them to your unit everything else is pretty much a plus to me. Also thank you Crutchfield tech Support them guys are AWESOME EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very professional. I had some slight run ends and gave them a call and very easily got around my issues and now my unit looks very professionally installed and I am very happy and please with the overall performance.

Pros: This unit serves all my purposes especially the built in bluetooth I love using my Ipod touch with it and it seems that all Apple portable devices with bluetooth always sync FAST TOO!

    Cons: non at all

I purchased this about 4 months ago. This is an outstanding unit. Very easy to use. Good sound quality, I like having the more than 2 frequency bands to play with. Bluetooth sound quality, and pairing of my cell phone what a snap.

    Cons: None.

Its a great unit and very reasonably priced for the many features, especially if you have a I phone.

Pros: Easy to install yourself, automatic backup cam when shifting to reverse, good quality video, handsfree bluetooth calling.

Cons: If you dont have an IPHONE the cons are to many to list. Galaxy S3 users dont even consider this unit. I does little to nothing for you and what it does, ie-bluetooth, it performs so poorly and lacks all features you will be very upset, i dont care what any salesman says, this is an IPHONE ONLY UNIT. Pros: Everything - I would by again

Cons: This is not a con of the radio but a feature I 'wish' it had...I wish it had a USB/Video port for the CD-IU51V cable in the BACK of the head unit - Plugging into the front of the unit does not make for a very 'clean' mounting environment for a phone/device.

I bought this to replace my single din Pioneer that i bought about 4 years ago. It was top of the line at the time and still beats most others out there. I tried finding one that was better than it. I bought a dual flip out and returned it the next day. I was told about this website and found this radio and WOW! I was skeptical about buying it at first but I'm glad I did! This has everything I wanted and more! I just wish it was compatible with the iPhone 5. I use my iPhone 4 through USB to play all of my music(granted I haven't tried USB for the 5) and it gives you full control of it. The bluetooth(even with the iPhone 5) is amazing. You can't control it like the compatible ones, but you can dial numbers right from the head unit and play any sound from the phone through the radio. I play Pandora on my iPhone 5 through the bluetooth. I have to control it on the phone but oh well. I have no complaints so far and I am extremely picky when it comes to car audio. Crutchfield gave me everything I needed to install it with and was very easy. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a touchscreen! Installed in 05 Hyundai Tiburon.

Pros: Bluetooth Pandora controls for iPhone 4 Very responsive screen controls Boots very fast User friendly interface

Cons: not completely iPhone 5 compatible:( hopefully you can update it!

This is an excellent unit. I bought it to add USB and Bluetooth support to my truck (2010 F-150). It does both of those things plus more. It also looks great in my dash. The biggest surprise is that the Bluetooth audio works so well. The audio on the last Bluetooth unit I had was terrible; this one is excellent. It also works with the new Pandora "Bluetooth for Automotive" controls. The unit has a native Pandora interface if you have an iPhone, I do not. It is no big deal though because the Bluetooth audio controls on the unit will operate Pandora. If you want a no-fuss stereo with all the modern bells and whistles, this is the perfect unit.

    2003 Toyota Celica GT
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit for the price and you cannot beat the instructions and kits Crutchfield include. I installed this into my son's Celica GT along changing the factory out for 6.5 Polk speakers, Polk amp, and Polk 12" sub in a vented box and it sounds amazing. Not sure if it is the small size of the car along with the location of the rear speakers or what, but I have done several cars in the past (spending much more on a couple of them) and this has to be at least in the top 2 if not the best sounding. The head unit was relatively easy to set up once installed and unlike some aftermarkets I have had in the past, there was no loss of reception of FM signal at all. The bluetooth was also very easy to set up with the iPhone and the only problem at all was that they sent the wrong cable that would have connected to the back of the unit for a wired connection of the iPhone, but they are now sending another that can be plugged into the front instead. I was a little disappointed there just in that the permanent cable would have made the install more professional and I was under the impression that was what I was getting, otherwise I am very happy with everything.

Pros: * great sound * easy set up once installed (my 16 year old took about 30 minutes to "personalize" it with no previous experience other then typical teen-age knowledge * good FM signal reception * hard to beat this for under $500

Cons: * as with most, I would prefer more microphone mounting options as this had a clip and a "sticky pad"

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit is very slick, looks great, and sound is a big improvement over the factory radio/CD Changer in my '05 Suburban 2500. First - it fits the dash like it belongs there, something I did not expect when looking at it compared to the old Delco unit. The touchscreen easily controls most functions and, though complicated, it doesn't take too long to figure out most functions. Bluetooth streaming of both iPhone content and Pandora is cool when you don't want to connect the phone to the unit and the bluetooth hand free phone functions nicely (there is of course some issues that Apple and Pioneer need to work on in order to make the iPhone 5 work better...). DVD/VCD/USB video works great and the screen size is perfect for a front screen video (while not moving of course). All in all a great improvement and worth the money.

Pros: Better sound, low entry level DVD capability with expansion possibilities for HD radio, full functionality XM/Sirius, rear view camera, and navigation. Very good upgrade over the factory unit that shamelessly ate 6 CDs and refused for months to cough them up.

Cons: Unlike what I was told when buying the unit, it DOES NOT allow the full functionality of satellite radio without more purchases. Plugging the satellite radio jacks from the GMOS-100 adapted into the aux audio inputs makes the XM radio play through the aux channel with no ability to view what station you are on...not cool. Oh yeah, the whole iPhone 5/iOS 6 issue is annoying too - but since I was never able to listen to my iPhone at all through the factory unit I am less annoyed than some ...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm loving the AVH-P2400BT so far! I only wish I had done this upgrade years ago! I'm already planning to buy the XM tuner module for it now to replace my ancient SkyFi2. I'm thinking about adding a rear view camera. In typical Crutchfield fashion, it arrived on-time and with everything I needed to install it. I had to make a minor "modification" to my truck's plastic trim piece before the unit would fit but the instructions showed me exactly what to do. As for the install kit, it makes the unit sit a little farther back in the dash than I would have liked -- maybe 1/4". I think it would look nicer if it was more flush with the opening but I'm really just nitpicking. I can't ding the radio for the install kit, since it's unrelated. I just thought I'd mention it. It was relatively easy to install and learn to use it -- I'm more of a hands-on learner so I've only skimmed through the user manual a couple of times. Switching sources is a breeze. Pairing my iPhone was quick and easy. I've only had it for a week so I'm still picking up on new things. So far, I have to say I am very happy with it and highly recommend it.

Pros: Bluetooth hands free. Pandora integration. Lighting color options. Big clock display (in the theme options). Satellite radio optoin Rear-view camera input.

Cons: Parking brake sensor Navigation add-on is way too expensive. Wish it had full Pandora integration via Bluetooth -- it will stream over Bluetooth but only shows the song name, artist, etc if you use the cable. Wish it could display weather, alerts, etc from a phone via Bluetooth. Wish it had native Zune support. (I realize I'm one of only a dozen people that actually has a Zune so I know it's a long shot.)

Great product! Had it in the car for 9 months and I have never had an issue with any function. Blue tooth with my i Phone 4 is flawless. I use an XM subscription on my i Phone, plug the phone into the unit and get most XM channels much cheaper than adding more hardware and paying for a full radio subscription with XM. Most important, the sound is fabulous. Buying another one as a Christmas gift for my daughter's CRV. I would recommend this unit to anyone as long as you have a double din.

Pros: Blue tooth, I Phone compatability, seamless integration of everything.

I am very happy with the unit with one major exception. The iphone with the IOS6 software will not run the music properly on the head unit. If you use a cable all controls work, but if you use bluetooth(which is why i bought the unit) you have no control with the head and have to use the iphone controls. I didnt want to have to use a cable. Luckily i kept my old iphone 4 with older software and use that for the music. This however poses another problem. If you connect a bluetooth iphone for music, you cant connect a second iphone to use as the bluetooth phone. You have to choose one or the other and that is maddening.

Pros: ease of use, cool color controls, good sound, great price

Cons: bluetooth with iphone I0s6 does not work with unit, and that was never mentioned when i bought the unit

My previous unit was a pioneer Avic f700bt which was full of problems and finally crashed for good. I did not want to buy pioneer again but I already had the Sirius add on and a Bluetooth mic run so I didn't want to have to spend more money and run more wires. I reluctantly bought this unit for the price and ease of install. While I've only had it for a few days I can say it's much better than the old unit. It boots fast and has nice features for this price point. As long as it doesn't have problems in the long run like the avic f700bt I'll be completely satisfied. You don't need navigation anymore because of smart phones and tablets so this unit has everything but HD radio. You don't need HD because this unit can to Sirius (add on) and Pandora radio through iPhone. I'm just using an old iPhone and tethering from my current android to stream music through the iPhone.

Pros: Boots fast, Bluetooth, Sirius with add on, DVD player

Cons: Have to buy a special cord for iPhone video to work, background themes are cheesy

Installed in 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: I absolutely love this unit! Located some very small USB keychain drives from SanDisk (the Cruzer Fit series) and bought 4 of them (32 GB each). The receiver plays from this with perfection! As well, they don't stick out but just enough to grab with the tips of your fingers to change them out. The only downside to having this much music on one flash drive is that it takes a few minutes (every time you start your vehicle or change the drive) for the unit to read the entire contents before it will start playing. All in all though, I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase!

Pros: Great sound, value, and features.

Cons: Manual for this unit absolutely stinks. Not laid out very well so you find yourself flipping back and forth through a crapload of pages to try to again locate what you are looking for. As far as the unit itself, I can't think of any cons.

I can't say enough about this product. It was easy to install, it has a great quality build, and I understood the layout almost immediately. I have several add-on's including XM and HD. It all integrates perfectly, my wife uses a third party mp3 player. It just works, I have a windows smart phone that I can actually control via blue tooth music and talking. It imported my directory so my wife who has a very basic clam shell phone with blue tooth can use the directory!! This radio does it all. My son loves watching the DVD player and with HD blending, I can tell when HD is on and not only because of the station quality not because the radio drops anything. Very good HD blending. Glad I picked this model

Pros: This radio integrates with just about anything, seriously, my wife uses a Zune, I use a Windows Phone 7.5, this has integration for Iphone, and Android. That covers all the phones. This is an ideal solution that updates your car. My 1999 Saturn now can do everything a new car can do and even more. Think about it, for this price you are getting the stereo system that beats most new cars today!

Cons: Easy install, but still needs to be installed. Crutchfield was amazing in helping in this area. If wires scare you, than buy from Crutchfield and have a local pro install it. It is amazing how easy it is to install, but I understand some people's fear, but it worth taking a chance for this great system.

I have had this stereo in my 2004 Ford F-250 crew cab for about a month. To be fair, I had some subs and new speakers installed at the same time, so not all credit for improvement can be directly attributed to the head unit. However, the sound for regular talk-radio is so much more clear that I don't have to crank up the volume. The user interface is very simple. Radio station tuning is at least as good as the stock head unit. You can easily add a backup camera. The "DVD player" is essentially useless unless the safety feature is disabled. However, once it is tweaked, you can use the touch screen for almost all of your iPhone apps. Really nice unit.

The unit works great. It was easy to install in my 2003 Tahoe (took a couple of hours). The sound is great, actually better than I expected. The BT phone works awesome. I previously had a ford car with BT sync in it, and the BT phone feature on this Pioneer is every bit as good if not better. I had the mic rolled up laying on the console when I received a call. I had forgotten the phone was connected. I answered and held the conversation with no problem. The other party didn't realize I was on a hands free device. This is without the mic mounted, again, just laying in the console. I was very impressed. The other features of the unit are nice, no real issues. Screen is bright enough and very responsive. I have about 4GB of music on a flash drive and there is very little hesitation before it all pops up. I would make the purchase again.

Pros: Easy install BT phone and audio Sound is very good Extra audio features, I didn't even know it had Iphones work great. Android connects via BT for audio

Cons: I don't really care for how the radio "favorite" stations are set up. Seams a little clunky to me to find them.

Awesome unit. Piece of cake to install. Looks great & crutchfield shipped super quick & the dash kit for my vehicle was spot on. Great job C-Field! However, if you are connected over bluetooth to this Head Unit with an iPhone or similar apple device that has been updated to the iOS 6 system, this Head Unit won't display song information, won't allow you to press the "Track" Forward or Back buttons (disabled maybe?), the "Play/Pause" button works because when you press the play/pause button on the head unit screen it basically is just a mute button while the song continues to play on your phone or similar apple device with iOS 6. when connected with bluetooth, my iOS 6 iPhone doesn't quite work that well with this head unit, HOWEVER!!, any previous OS from apple such as iOS 5, iOS 5.1 JUST FINE with my head unit and all the problems mentioned above are NOT there?!?!?! Weird huh? All cosmetic issues tho. As far as functionality & all that good stuff you can trust that this is a darn good upgrade from a factory receiver in the car. For the price, and, if you're a simple guy like me to where this is the first ever touch screen head unit I've ever had, you will be absolutely happy with this buy. Note: Pioneer is fully aware of the problem(s) I described above. If you search around the interweb you'll find more details about my little dilemma. Pioneer says it's Apple's problem because this happens on lots of units not just Pioneers'. It's apples gig to fix

Pros: Looks Great & Easy to install myself. Came with everything I needed. Fast shipping.

Cons: iOS 6 is ruining my life

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This hu was easy to install. It appears pretty simple to use, but... it does not work with ios 6. If you have an iphone and upgraded the os then expect limited functionality out of the bluetooth. If you expect to be an iphone 5 user - same thing... apparently Apple and Pioneer know about this issue and so far there is no resolution. Otherwise it is nice, the audio is richer and cleaner than stock system and it looks good.

Pros: easy to use, good sound

Cons: BT phone and audio does not work well with upgraded iphone software

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit, Crutchfield says it's only 14 watts RMS, but the owner's manual says 22. Not that it really makes a difference. I love the built in Bluetooth, just mount the mic behind your steering wheel and they'll be able to hear everyone in the vehicle, nice phone mic, it might look cheap but it's powerful. Great EQ adjustments, nice factory power, great iPod controls and also Pandora if using the extra cable (buy it, it's worth it).

Pros: Great EQ bands, nice screen, boots up fast, pairs with iPhone fast

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, I'm very pleased with this unit. As an older (50s) user, I must say the controls and menus are very easy to see; however, I think a better choice for me would be a receiver with an old fashioned On/Off/Volume button and with the 5 or 6 Preferred Channel buttons available as I do a bit of fumbling with the volume and selecting through my Preferred Channel menu (clicking on the magnifying glass). Maybe after 7+ years (like I had with my OEM), it'll become more natural. Reception doesn't seem quite as good as OEM. Sound is much better. Bottom line, I got this unit for the Bluetooth phone (BT audio is a nice feature I wasn't even looking for), MP3 capability (my OEM didn't have it), and the back-up camera. I am very pleased with all of those features.

Pros: Good display. Great sound (even with my OEM speakers). Display very good for back-up camera.

Cons: Mounting bracket was difficult to attach to one side of receiver; seemed like the screw holes had been recessed a bit too much. Bezel provided in Crutchfiled kit did not "cover" entier opening. Using bezel provided by Pioneer with Crutchfield bezel resulted in console surround not fitting. Had to "modify" Pioneer bezel to fit as best I could; overall, not a bad fit, not great. As others have said, USB, aux-in, would have been nicer on back, but it was my choice. SD on front would be better.

Best DVD receiver for the money

Nine Three from OH on 8/26/2012

By far the coolest DVD receiver for the price. I love being able to change the illumination colors to match the car's illumination. You could even set it on rainbow mode where it will recycle through all the colors. Being able to change the display background is nice too. It also has auto pairing of Bluetooth after you walk away from your car while you leave it running. The display interface is so easy that you don't even need to read the manual to operate it. It works great on Android phone but much better on iPhone. I added steering wheel control which works flawlessly. I also love being able to push a button on the screen to remove all the secondary functions --giving me a nice clutter free display. Last but not least, the ability to dial and thumb through the phone menu on screen was a nice touch. However, If you have a power antenna in your car, it will always be up. Unlike other brands which let your car retract its power antenna during DVD/CD or Bluetooth streaming, Pioneer does not ( I heard this directly from a Pioneer rep.) The engineer said it was to save wear and tear.

Pros: Excellent user interface, great sound, great price, great with Android phone but much better with iPhone (App control, Pandora, Netflix video. etc) You could also turn off the screen completely as well as customize it to your liking. Excellent Bluetooth music streaming too!!

Cons: It wasn't designed for Android phone so you're missing a lot of features. One in particular is voice command (calling by name tag or controlling music selection by voice) There is no dedicated button for voice control at all. Also, there is no light sensor so it does not adjust the display brightness at night. The screen looks great during the day but blinding at night if you don't dim it. Lastly, there is no phone battery indicator so you better be careful while you're streaming music.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's a pretty good device with just a few small quirks that can be a little annoying at times. Does what it needs to do, but it could be more with a few small tweaks...this device works better if you have an iPhone than Android.

Pros: Good sound quality, connects pretty easily with Bluetooth devices, and all in all it's a good buy worth the money.

Cons: The Bluetooth pairs better and easier with IOS than with Android. This means that the autopair will choose that if you have an Android and your friend has Apple. Moreover, it shows the song info from IOS Bluetooth, but not Android Bluetooth. The Pandora app works only with IOS devices. Lastly, it only pairs with 3 devices. One or two more wouldn't be out of the question.

I bought this unit primarily to use as a screen for a backup camera - and it is really great! The bluetooth syncronises up really well with the phone with on screen address bok and many other cool functions. The radio and CD both are really good quality - easy to use and the equalizer customises itself to your vehicle - so sound is really good even with the factory speakers. I would recommend this for anyone wanting the backup camera and a really nice stereo for your vehicle.

    2001 Subaru Legacy
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The responsiveness of the touchscreen and intuitive controls make this player very easy to learn. With it's large screen and decent resolution, it'll definitely get passengers' attention. The unit seams solid enough, though I've only had it for a week, but the fixed screen gives it a more sturdy feel than many detachable screen players. Of course, there is that nagging worry it won't be there next time you leave it in a lot. If you buy here, you get great vehicle specific instructions you from Crutchfield, although installing this in my Subaru was a total pain in the rear. This is the fourth car I've installed a new radio in, and my Subaru was by far and away the worst. My Dodge took 10 minutes, this took and hour. Enough about my car, the radio is great. Finally having hands free calling in my manual trans car is a big plus, and the unit sounds infinitely better than the stock "premium" system ever did. So why the 4 stars? You get some noise at higher volumes, but this will probably be remedied when I fork out the cash for an amp. It's more than good enough as a standalone, but not perfect.

Pros: Greatly improved sound quality over stock radio. Bluetooth is a lifesaver when talking on the phone and driving a manual. Great screen, and the custom color selector allowed me to match the rest of my dash.

Cons: Microphone is a bit big/ugly (find a good hiding spot). Lack of functions (like Bluetooth management) when not in park can get annoying. Doesn't read some non iPod players through the USB port consistently.

I installed this head unit into a 2004 Chevy Silverado crew cab. The install was pretty easy with the GMOS-100 All in One Interface. The instructions were pretty good, you just need to read them a couple times to get all of the wires identified. The touch screen works great, the sound is pretty good (even with the GM Bose package) and there are a lot of great features for the money like the BT calling and audio stream. Being able to switch between BT and your phone with the push of a button is a definite plus compared to my wife's OEM stero with BT where you just about need to turn the BT off to disconnect. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Pros: A lot of great features, good sound and an easy install.

Cons: The functional use instruction book for this unit has you bounce all over the place to figure out basic functions.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this in my 2012 Mustang and it made a world of difference just with the stock speakers still being in place. There are a seemingly endless supply of audio options to set the system up the way you want it. I love how when I stream bluetooth from my iPhone it displays all of the song information just the same as it does if playing from USB or CD. I have it coupled with a JL Audio JX1000/1 amp pushing 2 JL Audio 10w3v3-4's and it's amazing. The touchscreen is very responsive and only takes a light touch to get to where you want to be. I love how you can set certain menu items that you frequently navigate to into the favorites list so you don't have to keep going through all the options to get back to it. This unit looks phenomenal and is worth every penny. There are only 2 things that I'm not fond of. I don't like having the external microphone for hands free calling. I'd much rather have it built in to the radio like the Clarion CX501 does that this unit replaced. The other part I don't like is if you want to watch videos you are forced to splice a wire into you parking brake cable or it won't play them. It has to receive the signal that the parking brake is engaged and as best I can tell the only way around this is to either not hook it up and lose the video functionality or buy some kind of bypass piece on ebay that people are making. You'd have to trust that they know what they are doing and that it won't blow up your unit when hooked up.

Pros: Beautiful display, tons of audio options, save your most frequently used menu options to favorites list.

Cons: External microphone, parking brake feed hook up in order to play videos.

Outstanding installation information with photos for the Radio. The installation kit was top quality. The molex jack connector fit directly to the car's connector. The connector wiring matched the radio wiring so no errors in butt splicing the radio wires with the correct connector wires. Local shop charges $70.00 to install plus the cost of the install package.

Pros: All inclusive package with exception of tools (phillips screwdriver, panel tool, butt splices and crimper). Installation made easy because of pictorial installation information.

Cons: If you are adding the SiriusXM Radio satellite receiver with the radio, you may want to opt for the professional install. The installation data for the SiriusXM is a little more challenging as you will have to find a location for the unit and run the cabling through the dash and trim panels and use a Multimeter to find a good ground.

    2005 GMC Sierra 1500
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First of all this is a great radio, my third pioneer over 15 years in 3 vehicles. It has alot of features and DVD quality is great and more than I expected. Their is a steep learning curve but after a week I have it mastered. It paired by blue tooth perfectly with my motorola electrify, and connects everytime automatically. My phone book contacts, last call, recent call is all there. The radio pauses the DVD or music when you receive a call and resumes when you end the call. The included microphone is very clear to who you are talking to and doesn't sound as you were in a box. It has several rca inputs a/v and 3 sets of rca preamp outputs for multiple amplifiers. I am using memphis pr component speakers and a punch 300-1 on (2) JL 10w0, 3-4's and my highs didn't need an amp to keep up with the subs. The only con's I had with this unit was when I first installed it I kept getting engine noise through my subs, the amp was grounded correctly and everything was installed correctly. I would turn my amp up to 5 and you could hear a constant deep wine that drove me crazy. I didn't think I would have to ground the rca cables with a new head unit but I was wrong. This is a reoccuring problem with pioneers that has been going on for years but unless you are running a high power system with amplifiers you won't run into this. It is also an easy fix to correct if you know what your looking for. Info about this can be found on the internet.

Pros: DVD works great and clear, sound is clear and crisp as long as you don't use the loudness features, has seperate sub controls from the high and midrange, and digital EQ to fine tune any system. Several RCA inputs and outputs for bulding a system and upgrades. It will also played some scratched cd's that my older units wouldn't. You can also connect other screens or even a playstation if you like. Blue tooth works great with the electrify. For the price it can't be beat and I would buy it again.

Cons: You can only save one picture to the unit at a time to use for the background. The same reoccuring pioneer problem of having to ground the rca cables to the radio ground to take out motor noise. Easy and cheap fix though. (internet search) Figured pioneer would have corrected it by now, nope.( my previous pioneers had the same problem) I wish it had more background options than it does or a way to make the clock tab bigger. My only gripes but I can live with it and I am satisified!

I have used this deck for 3 months now and have very few gripes. The DVD is great, the bluetooth audio and hands free works perfectly and it is so nice to have so many options including the USB port easily accessable. Really, my only complaint is the Tuner. Although I rarely use it because I prefer to stream Pandora, on occasion I will listen to local station. I actually had to read the owners manual to understand how it worked (the tuner; the most basic part of a radio) and even after, I find it does not display well.

Pros: Equilizer is on the money and so are the majority of the features

Cons: Wish the screen was bigger and the tuner a little more user friendly

Amazing upgrade over the Shaker 500 unit that came with my car, looks great too! Menus are a little hard to navigate but not to bad. Installed with the gex-p920xm. Haven't tested the bluetooth yet for calls but the audio is great. Would defiantly recommend, adds a very cool look to your interior.

I really like this unit except, there are a few things that seem to be not working as I expected. I understand that the ad only said that it will work with an Apple IPhone, but I use a Blackberry. The Pandora button never seems to be activated. I activated my phone to use Bluetooth for Pandora but it does not display on or connect to the car radio. Is there a downloadable enhancement to allow it to work with my Blackberry phone? This is also true for some other items, i.e. the song display does not show the whole name of the artist or song. It is truncated so I cannot seen the entire names. I emailed Pioneer from their website but they have not responded.

Crutchfield response on 6/28/2012 Our Tech Support team has confirmed that this radio will not do Pandora control with a Blackberry.

Unit sounds great and looks good also. Great addition to my truck with the added backup camera (which is the main reason I purchased it). Install wasn't to bad, a little tight but finally got everything to fit. Also, kudos to Aaron for helping me get everything needed to do the install

    Pros: Relatively easy set up.

Cons: Still need to figure how to increase the bluetooth volume.

Great dbl din unit and with the help of Shawn at Crutchfield I was hooked up with everything I needed to do the job efficiently and professionally. This unit offers just about everything at the touch of a finger and has connections for most of todays streaming/digital features.

Pros: the interface is straightforward and very user friendly

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this in a 2007 scion TC and it's a HUGE upgrade from the factory system. I mainly bought this to stream Pandora and play MP3s from USB and it doesn't disappoint. Installation was simple thanks to Crutchfield's supplied adapter and took about an hour. Once I got it installed I started playing. First I tried bluetooth to a Galaxy Nexus. It's is almost flawless. Just turn on the bluetooth on the nexus and it will ask you to sync your address book as well as call history. Sound quality of the provided mic is excellent. So nice to finally have a hands free option when driving. Google music works but you can't browse or display track information on the head unit which is a shame. You can skip tracks on the head unit though via bluetooth. Next I threw in a USB thumb drive. Reading the track info and files from the USB drive is painful (30 seconds every time you start the car) but the quality is good and browsing the file system is very easy and intuitive. Next I popped in a DVD. It's obviously not a HD screen but the quality is good enough. Menu system is kind of clunky though. Not sure how much I'll use the DVD function of the unit but it's neat to have. I also installed a backup camera. It doesn't automatically come on when backing up but it's 2 button presses so it's accessible enough. For the amount I spent on it, I can live with it.

Pros: -Terrific sound quality -Easy to install -Accessories can be found fairly cheap for it. -Bluetooth phone calls are fantastic quality and easy to use with Andriod. -An iPhone will display track info for Pandora. It also allow you to choose stations, skip tracks, and thumbs up/down via head unit.

Cons: -AM radio reception is basically non-existent. This is a big problem for me as I listen to a lot of AM radio. -Track info via andriod doesn't display with bluetooth connections. -A 32gb USB drive takes 30+ seconds to read and become ready to play EVERY TIME you start the car. -Sub levels can't go negative. Only goes from 0 - 6. -Radio interface is clunky -Pandora support for Android is limited to skipping tracks. No track info, No station choosing.

It took me 2 months to pick this unit

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I spent a lot of time researching head units for my 2012 Wrangler. I got the lowest level HU offered with the infinity sound system because I refused to pay for sat radio. Anyway, this thing is awesome. It does everything I wanted and more and looks cool doing it. I was worried about glare since I dont have the top on most of the time, being too bright at night, modifying the sub dash, and not having fader control. All were non-issues for me. Sure, when the sun is right on it it is harder to see but not so bad I cannot read it. It automatically dims when I turn the headlights on. The sub dash part that needs to be cut can be removed with a 10mm socket driver. and I never messed with the fader before and didn't need to after install.

Pros: Looks great Sounds great Works with all my stuff (phone, ipod, etc.) BT works well Only takes a second and it is up and running

Cons: Sometimes it takes a few trys to sync with my phone (a Samsung non-smartphone), but has never failed. Takes a few clicks to get the the Ipod playlist menu, but I am not sure how I am doing it is the only way.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The radio does everything i need it to do. The sound quality is just as clear as a CD, you can adjust the lighting and color of the radio to be in line with your dash making it look factory, and movies are very clear. I have the DVD bypass connected and it looks great on the road. Sounds like surround sound even with the factory speakers. I will probably need to upgrade the speakers because the radio is killing them!

Pros: Excellent sound quality, Clear and bright screen, and Adjustable to many different looks. Source level adjuster is great, Bluetooth is off the chain clear...

Cons: Does not sound that great and you lose some of the options with the Sirius radio tuner package. Pioneer works better with XM.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great stereo. The sound quality is great, the controls are easy to figure out and the screens look great. The phone functions work well and it links up without a problem every time. I had no problem wiring it up with the included schematics and a factory harness adapter. I've never had a touchscreen/double DIN unit before so I don't have a lot to compare this to, but I'm very happy and I have no significant complaints. The parking brake safety function is not as big of a deal as many make it out to be - the only things it seems to inhibit are DVD viewing (which I'll probably never use anyway and can't imagine using it while driving) and the touch-pad numeric entry function for phone numbers. All other phone functions seem to work with the brake off including access to/dialing out from the phone book and answering incoming calls. In reading reviews from others I thought this might be an annoyance but I just hooked it up per the instructions and forgot about it.

Pros: The 8 band custom EQ is a nice feature. The source level adjuster is handy, as it allows you to set it up so that you don't have to adjust the volume to a different level when you switch sources. You can customize to your liking the colors of the screen and button back light, as well as the general background theme. The theme that includes a large clock display is convenient.

Cons: The position of the USB port is a little inconvenient - it is right below the mute button so an installed thumb drive is sort of in the way when you push that. There is only one line of info displayed for Sirius radio so you have to touch the display field to scroll through the different data fields (could be an issue with the Sirius receiver rather than the head unit). SIrius presets show in the menu as "PRESET CH#" rather than the channel name. To me these issues are not significant.

I was looking for a radio that would connect wirelessly to my HTC EVO android. This radio does that with ease. I love how I can get in the car and the radio and the phone automaticlly connect to each other. I dont have to push any buttons. The supplied mic for calling is great. I mounted mine on the steering wheel base. People dont even know im driving when I talk to them, and I love the fact that I can hear them over all the speakers. Because this radio streams all audio, I can listen to music and use GPS from my phone at the same time. When a new turn comes up, the music automatically cuts out, the instruction is given, and then the music come back on. Awsome!!!! I also like how I can listen to my music as loud as I want, and when I get a call it cuts the music out and rings. No more missed calls in the car because of liud music. Its easy to use and teh added remote makes for a easy compromise due to the fact that I didn't do a steering wheel control hookup. The video bypass was so easy to do, and the video quality is great.

    Pros: Audio Bluetooth Video Looks

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the Shaker 500 that came in my 2005 Mustang. I really like display screen and the unit was the right size for dash/console. My husband and I installed this ourselves. I had read through all the other reviews, which was helpful in making the decision to purchase this unit, but also with extra parts that we needed. Ex: I had to buy a 1 amp diode from Radio Shack for the wiring harness (which I also purchased from Crutchfield). You get 2 diodes in the pack. My husband is good with electronics, but we still ran into some issues - he said there were 3 wires he didn't know what to wire to. I had to do some 'google' searches and was able to find some forums and some articles that was also a big help. I guess a professional installer could have done this faster, but it took us almost an entire day. The handle for my emergency break was locked up, so we had to get that loose in order to take out the console and the dash trim. I also had to remove the bottom of the back seat because I was also installing a rearview backup camera. The seat had to be removed in order to run the radio cable into the trunk. I have to say I think it was well worth it though. It is nice unit for the price, and fits nice in the Mustang dash.

Pros: Nice unit and display, looks nicer than the Shaker 500 - aslo nice to have the hands free on my cell phone.

Cons: Not having all the parts and more complete instructions for the wiring harness.

    Happy with my choice

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation in a Toyota Tacoma went relatively slow but well. Toyota user forum web site(s) warned against utilizing the dimmer capability for fear of conflicting with the panel dimmer capability so that wire went unconnected. It would be nice to have something other than full bright or screen off though. I made the $50 mistake of not purchasing the HD radio option (I think that's the 3400 model) and subsequently added the separate tuner. Works great but I paid more for the add-on and it only displays one line of information vs. the built-in's three lines. Used the Scosche installion kit for the dash which fit perfectly and was nicely color matched. Steering wheel controls work perfectly with the kit from Crutchfield. Bluetooth performace has worked perfectly for me both with audio streaming and phone connectivity. The audio quality for the remote phone user is marginal even though my mic placement is as good as I can make it. The most useful functions of Pandora and iPod connectivity are enabled only with the hard wired connection of the separately sold cable which unfortunately needs to be hanging off the front of the unit pretty much forever. I leave an iPod plugged in permanently and stream audio from my iPhone to supplement that. Full Pandora features require the iPhone to be plugged in.

Pros: Great backup camera image. Useful remote control. Nice to have a photo as the background. Great sound quality for the money without needing to seperately amp the speakers (no sub in my installation). Decent rendering of important information although much of the less important information is too small. Touch screen is responsive and seems to be accurate with fat man hands. Nice that meta information scrolls if it exceeds the allocated character space on its line, some units just truncate it.

Cons: Printed manual is poor with micro print and multiple circular references. Add-on HD radio tuner works great but only displays one line of information. "Favorites" is for saving favorite menu destinations instead of favorite content destinations. Periodically goes mute across all source modes after cycling the ignition and am only able to restore audio by unplugging and replugging the USB cable to the attached device. Auto equalizer requires a mic with a 3.5 mm plug; most have smaller diameters.

Purchased unit to replace the stock HU in my WRX. Crutchfield did not have the dash kit, but I was given a $20 discount and name of the supplier that I can get one from. That was so nice! Also purchased a dash removal kit, which allowed me to do the installation without scratching the bezel around the stereo!

Pros: Touch screen. Sound quality is superb, driving my Memphis speakers and JL subwoofer the way they were meant to be driven! iPod control works great! Bluetooth connects to my Rezound with no problem!

Cons: No rear USB port. I have to remove my iPod whenever I park the car so it doesn't tempt someone in stealing it! Wish it had voice dialing! At leat my cheap Clarion stock HU had that! That's why I gave it 4 stars on value. Glare from the sun makes the display hard to read if you have sun glasses on.

As the heading reads, I am more than pleased with this unit, I am ecstatic. Installation in my 2002 Avalon XLS w/JBL system was a breeze. Had to add one wire to harness for dimmer. Unit fits perfectly and even though surounding areas are wood grain, black faceplate provided for free from Crutchfield looks very nice. Sound quality makes my factory JBL speakers sound about twice as good as they did with the factory head unit. Paired with my Droid Razr almost immediately. Bluetooth sound quality both on calls and streaming audio are superb, my wife who is always critical of bluetooth even said the call quality far exceeds any other bluetooth device I have had. Still need to figure out how to sync my phonebook. Display is crystal clear and DVD picture quality is excellent. Easily matched my display color with my factory color. Touch screen is very responsive. Interface is very intuitive and easy to get used to, would probably be even easier if I used the manual. Paired this with the Sound Ordnance B-8P subwoofer and now my only complaint is that I have problems seeing out of my rear view mirror because my back window vibrates so much. I spend 2 hours a day commuting and I am now one happy camper.

Pros: Easy install, excellent value. Features

This is a great unit - it's really simple to setup the Bluetooth, and it works seamlessly! Just hop in the car and it automatically connects for both calls and audio (if it was set to Bluetooth audio when you last turned it off). I LOVE being able to plug in a USB and play tracks. It takes a bit long to load the USB stick, but overall not bad - navigation of folders is very easy. The touch screen is really nice - very responsive. PLEASE NOTE - I tried to install this unit myself and it was a complete failure - only because I didn't realize that you need to attach a wire to your parking break if you're installing a DVD player. This is a connection that prevents the DVD player from playing while driving. Probably a good idea... Basically, not for the amateur installer.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an expensive basic radio. DVD quality is fair to good, but the picture is not seen well in bright daylight. Sound is crisp & clear, but not much different from the factory radio in this Nissan 2008 Frontier. The HU fits nicely into the Nissan 2008 Frontier. There is a small learning curve for the interface, but not too difficult. The clock/date icon is too small. The bluetooth is the main reason it gets two stars. There was considerable difficulty pairing with the Droid X and specifically accessing the phone book. This was eventually solved with on line suggestions. But still no voice recognition. I am thinking that the bluetooth is almost worthless without voice recognition. This means that the system is "not hands free." I cannot recommend this model. Crutchfield has not been helpful so I also have strong reservations about recommending Crutchfield.

Pros: Sound is clear but probably no better than the factory radio that came with vehicle. Most features work OK after a small learning curve.

Cons: Bluetooth does not work well with all android phones. There is no voice recognition. If you want true hands free bluetooth, do not get this product. Screen is not bright enough for viewing DVDs in bright sunlight.. Clock too small. The clock is too small.

Overall very happy with the product, definitely glad I bought it & satisfied. Would recommend it.

Pros: Great flexibility - able to stream iPhone thru bluetooth, including turn-by-turn navigation - WAZE seamlessly interupts music to provide voice instructions. With YouTube SoundMan workaraound, able to view DVD movies at impressive quality level. Display very competitive for the price - very good appearance. Touchscreen very responsive.

Cons: Buttons are labelled with text so small as virtuallty illegible. My vision is better than 20/20, but I have to squint & strain to read the buttons. Hands-free transmitted sound quality very poor - suspect a mic problem. People on the other end can barely understand me. Poor fit - as other reviewers stated, significant gap at bottom of head unit. I added 1/8" closed-cell foam strip at bottom to fill gap. No back-panel USB. Pretty big drawback - frt panel plug interferes with other ctrls.

I have an 04' Chevy Colorado. Fits perfectly! I decided to have it professionally installed as I do not have the best track record when it comes to me and electricity..! The unit looks clean, sounds great and has the "coolness factor" that I was looking for! It is very easy to use, however 1 feature I wish it had is an easier way to dim the screen. During the day it is bright and looks great, but at night I have to turn off the display so I am not blinded... Just wish there was an easier way to dim it at night than having to go in and adjust the brightness every time... Other than that I would recommend this product a hundred times over! And Crutchfield was extremely helpful when figuring out what additional material I needed to complete the install. Even the installer I had put it in was pleasantly surprised I had everything needed!

Pros: Clean, Fun and Energetic Appearance!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield was great and allowed me return a similarly priced head unit for the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT and I am thankful everyday that I did. I had the 1st unit (Valor) professionally installed so I was reluctant remove and return it even though I was displeased with my choice. Anyway, I ordered the Pioneer brand for my 2008 Nissan Frontier and what a difference! Not only does the unit look and operate better, the sound quality is great and the interface has plenty of customizable options such as various color options, screen saver (animated/static) among others. I installed the unit myself this time which was pretty easy for someone with little experience. Bluetooth was easy to setup and connects automatically when you start your vehicle (as long as your phone BT is enabled). My address book imported and searches entries by either dragging your finger up/down the screen or by scroll bar. Interface takes a couple of days to familiarize yourself with all of the buttons/commands but is well designed and simple to navigate. I searched for hours reading reviews and comparing units so I can tell you that for the price - you can't beat this unit. If you are having difficulty deciding look no further and order the Pioneer 2400 - you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Sleek, modern, large clear display, easy to use, front USB/Aux, touch sliding track seek, displays song/artist information from radio stations sending signals, great bluetooth functionality and clear & powerful audio.

Cons: Text colors are limited to 4 or 5 choices which don't always match the rest of the interface. MP3 album art doesn't display from USB devices - only MP3 players. Operating manual tells you to refer to a page which refers to another page and so on which makes it difficult to locate, read and understand specific interface functions.

Owned for about 1 month. Installed with Sirius tuner and steering wheel controls in my 2011 Jeep Patriot. Install was very time consuming due to the car and trying to get all of the added boxes into a good spot where they would not rattle. There were a total of 4 extra boxes that needed to be put somewhere when you have the Sirius, the can adapter and the steering wheel controls. kind of a pita. After a couple calls to PAC i was able to get the steering wheel controls working flawlessly.

Pros: Does what I need it to do. Bluetooth works good along with the streaming of pandora and itunes music. Fits good in the car and looks better than the stock radio.

Cons: Radio has reset to demo mode a couple times when i have been driving along. The Sirius display only shows one line of text. (this drives me crazy especially when all other features display 3 or 4 lines of text)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far so good, I have had the unit for less than a week and I am very happy with it. I have the stock speakers in the truck and they sound much better with this new unit. I bought the unit primarily for the Bluetooth for my phone to work hands free. It works great with my Driod 2, since it is older it was nice to know it works with older technology.

Pros: Ease of use and installation.

Cons: None that I know of yet.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great radio. Not too much "Glitz", just good looking in the dash, sounds great and has true 'ease of use' interface while driving. Fits perfectly in my right hand drive 2000 Mazda Miata (Roadster here in Japan). Did not want too many 'blingy' features other than good sound, clean look and hands free calling with music streaming from my iPhone. Order was filled rapidly, everything I needed was in the box with one exception. The wiring harness adapter included for Miatas of that model year (US or Japanese) is incorrect and I had to use the one from the factory radio by doing some cutting and splicing. (For Crutchfiled - your included harness was for Ford and Mazda type cars. Ford and Mazda were not always partnered up and not all model years use a Ford/Mazda type harnesses.)

    Pros: Great value, good performance.

    Cons: Wrong wiring harness included.

I originally was going to install this myself, then decided to have it installed (reasonably priced). The touch functions make this very easy to use, the BT mic works excellent during calls with the windows down or up. Crutchfield delivered this product free (To Hawaii) which is almost unheard of. Excellent service and very pleased with the product.

Pros: Touch screen and ease of use.

    Cons: None

Great unit. Much better sound than my Pilot 2007 factory stereo (though I replaced the factory sub with a Pioneer sub and a sub amp) Talks to my Droid2 over Bluetooth perfectly. Full control in Google Music, and can pause or skip tracks in Pandora. Hooked up to my steering wheel controls with Axxess interface, and also installed a rear camera. Very nice.

Installed with SiriusXM tuner and Pioneer adapter.

Pros: Easy install Great looking unit Good sound Feature rich

Cons: AM reception is non existent. Nothing. Why they even included an AM tuner, I don't know. Sirius presets do not include channel name, only number. Unlike FM, Sirius on screen data is only available one line at a time. You can see channel, artist and song, but you must cycle through each one at a time. Controls are not easy to use while driving.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I do have to preface that I upgraded my factory stereo which wasn't all that bad... except the CD changer had been broken for years and I've been hooking up my iPhone to one of those FM modulators for some very static-y music. Suffice to say, this was a HUGE upgrade. Installation was super easy thanks to all of the included items that Crutchfield lovingly provides. Stereo was up and running in no time and everything works great from the get go. Bluetooth works great on this as calls are very clear and the person on the other end said I sounded great. Playing music through bluetooth sounds excellent... the quality is so good I don't even need to use the iPhone connector (though if I want more control through the H/U besides track forward/backward, you do need the cord). Which btw, a standard iPhone USB cord works just fine... you don't need to spend $50 for the official Pioneer cord. Reads all the music just fine (including putting the album cover up there). DVD quality looked and sounded great too! Highly recommend this as a a really nice unit and if you can get it on sale... all the better!

Pros: Easy to use, easy to install; good quality sound through the iPhone cord as well as through Bluetooth; Bluetooth sounds great and quality is great

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory Bose Navigation unit in my 2007 TrailBlazer SS with the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT. For this price ,it is loaded with features and flexibility. Bluetooth works great , it finds my iPhone and starts playing my playlist as soon as I get in the truck. Pandora & SiriusXM from the phone play perfectly as well. You can also plug your iPhone in to charge/play ,of course. I like to load up a few thumb drives and basically have my entire CD collection (now in the attic) fit in the cup holder. DVD player works great as well. Has SUB & RCA outputs for future amp expandability . It has quite a few ways to tweak the sound as well , equalizer , loudness , bass boost & a High pass filter. Once I get the cheesy paper speakers replaced , I'll have a better idea of the sound. However , even with the stock speakers the features , sound & looks are a huge improvement. I'm glad I decided on this unit.

Pros: Many features , flexible for any music source , customizable looks & sound.

    Cons: None so far.

    Awesome HU

Bart M. from Hamilton, GA on 2/20/2012

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

What an awesome Head Unit. Installed this unit in my 2011 Kia Sorento. It fits perfectly, colors can be set to match the factory colors of the dash, it plays DVDs, CDs, Pandora, XM, Bluetooth Audio, Hands Free Calling and USB drives. I only had two issues with this unit. First if you decide to use Sirius you will only get one line of display. It will not show all information like Artist, Song and Album at the same time. The Sirius unit I had for this kept freezing up so I returned it for the XM one. I got the Pioneer GEX-P920XM and it will display all 4 lines of text. The other issue I had was with the USB drive. The HU would read all files and folders but put them in a random order. It was not an issue with the HU but with the flash drive. The HU will play the files how it finds them, not how you have them sorted on the USB drive. I downloaded a utility online (FAT Sorter) and I can once again listen to my music in the order I want to. The HU is incredibly easy to set up bluetooth audio and hands free calling with an iPhone too. Pandora works like a champ and I can stream it directly from my phone or use the Pioneer CD-IU51V for even better sound quality. I always end up replacing my factory stereo with something better and this unit is hands down the best car stereo I have ever purchased. Crutchfield makes it so easy with all the extras included too. This HU is a great value and Crutchfield is a great company to do business with.

Pros: It does everything and then some. You can even use one of your own photos for the background on the radio. Impressive Unit all the way around!!!

Cons: The only issue I had was the USB drive explained above, but I did a little research and figured that one out. Hope that info helps someone else out that may not like the unit because of this one little issue.

I worked in car audio for 3 years and this is the best deck I have ever come across! Very easy to install even with the bypass relay. Very easy to setup Bluetooth. If you are looking for an in-dash A/V unit I think this is the best especially for how low the price is! I would recommend it to everyone

Pros: Everything.... Built in Bluetooth, external mic (included), easy of use, color display, etc....

    Great 04 monte carlo ss

    DJh from MD on 2/12/2012

This was a PERFECT fit in my monte carlo.. wiring was a lil hard since i have to get a integration adapter and another adapter for my steering wheel controls but other than that huge headache this system is great! defiantly worth the money.. i was looking at going really cheap (walmart) but im glad i didn't. pioneer has always made good sound systems whether in car or house. and for anyone with a chevy with onstar from the years 2000-2005 yes if you use the integration adapter when you press your onstar buttons (any of them) the stereo will mute an then come bcak on when you press the onstar button again. you cant even tell that the head-unit is aftermarket if you wire it correctly. besides the difference in the door chime. for anyone with a impala or any other chevy where you reset the oil life and tire pressure thru the stock head-unit.. there is a way to do it without it... Crutchfields directions have to be by far the best directions i have gotten from any company.. step by step and diagrams of YOUR car. just over all great company and great head-unit!

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: Nothing......... so far

    2006 Ford F-150
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit looks great in 06' F150. This unit has tones of features and they all work great. I could go on and on about how good each feature work but I'll just mention the one main feature that sold me on this unit. Most units I looked at in this price point had about the same features with the exception of the equalizer. This unit has an "8" band equallizer which really sets it apart from the other units for me. I'm a tweaker and like to fine tune things, especially when it comes to the quality of the audio I'm listening to. The equalizer has a very nice interface and is easy to use and has several presents and two custom settings. Custom "1" can be set for each idividual source and customer "2" is a global setting which is a one setting for all sources. Concerning the look of the unit and the dash kit, I was surprized as to how much it looked like a factory finish. I was a little concerned beforehand about it looking "out of place" since I had been staring at the stock unit for six years. The colors of the display can be changed and I was able to match my dash colors. I did have to use my dremal tool a little bit for a few of the screw hole locations on the mounting kit, but other than that everything went smooth.

Pros: Everything except a few minor exception listed in the cons which are personal taste issues and not mechanical.

Cons: The details section (and other sources) notes the preamp outputs as 2.0 volts. The product manual notes preout maximum output level as 4.0 volts and another model as 2.0 volts. I hope that I have 4.0 volts to keep the gain down on the amp but if not that's O.K. I bought this unit initially thinking it was 2.0 volts. This is a minor detail where other features outweighed my decision. Also, I would have preferred rear USB input but again, all the other features outweighted my decision.

    Great product

This is a great product, looks great, sounds great. Install was easy. Couldn't ask for anything more. If I had one complaint and I don't think its the head unit but sometimes the swc do not work. I blame that on the module. Next I will order new door and rear deck speakers, and a new sub!

    Pros: Perfect.

    Cons: None.

    • Zoom: A 4:3 picture is enlarged in the same proportion both vertically and horizontally; ideal for a 16:9 screen.

In addition, you can receive audible/visual directions from navigation apps, such as Motion X GPS Drive. The App Mode's video and visual navigation functions can only be accessed when the vehicle is in park and the hand-brake is fully engaged.

iPod/iPhone Display: The multimedia head unit will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information, including - Track number, Folder number, Elapsed playing time, Song title, Artist name, Album label, and Album art. Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.

MusicSphere: Pioneer's new proprietary MusicSphere technology allows you to enjoy your music in a new way by creating unique mood-based playlists via iTunes for your Apple iOS device. When installed on your Windows PC, the MusicSphere iTunes plug-in software will analyze the entire music library and create specialized playlists based on various musical attributes such as feeling (bright, energetic, gloomy, relaxing calm), rhythm pattern, beats per minute (BPM), year of the song and/or date added to the device. Additionally, through the MusicSphere, you can select preferred parameters of your music to create a "DJ Playlist". You can download MusicSphere directly to your Windows PC from the Pioneer website.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The AVH-P2400BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth ver. 3.0 (powered by Parrot) allowing to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. Bluetooth Technology is a short-range wireless radio connectivity technology that was developed as a cable replacement for mobile phones and other electronic devices. Bluetooth operates in 2.4 GHz frequency range and transmits voice and data at speeds up to 1 megabit per second.

Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Phone Pairing: Up to 5 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be registered to this head unit. Only one device can be used at a time. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT.

Hands-Free Communication: The AVH-P2400BT supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/HSP/OPP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The AVH-P2400BT allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the AVH-P2400BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

    • Entering a Phone Number: You can make a call by entering the phone number using the head unit's on-screen keypad (0-9, *, #, +, C).
    • Speed (Preset) Dialing: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
    • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for the phone number by alphabet search mode.
    • Call Log: The 80 most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.

Note: Advanced phone operations that require attention, such as dialing numbers on the monitor or adjusting Bluetooth settings, are prohibited while driving. The vehicle must be in park to access these functions.

External Microphone: During your wireless phone call, you can talk into the head unit's included external microphone, and listen to the other party through the vehicle's speaker system. The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth). The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone. The external microphone must be installed for Bluetooth hands-free communication.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Pioneer AVH-P2400BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The AVH-P2400BT will be able to control basic playback features; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, and Random/Repeat. When an incoming or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your music will resume.

Note: The Pioneer head unit requires an optional Bluetooth firmware update (HW05-SW01.27.20) to enable Bluetooth AVRCP control and metadata display for the iPhone 5 or other Apple iOS6 device. If you do not own an iPhone 5 or iOS6 device, there is no need to install this update.

    Radio Functions

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID AM/FM tuner features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.

BSM (Best Stations Memory): BSM lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.

Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 level of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

XM Satellite Radio Ready: You can connect and control Pioneer's GEX-P920XM XM tuner (130P920XM, sold separately).

Note: A subscription to XM, plus the proper antenna is required in order to receive satellite radio programming.

HD Radio Ready: This unit is compatible with the optional Pioneer GEX-P20HD HD Radio tuner (130GEXP20H, sold separately) allowing you to tune available HD Radio stations. HD Radio features high quality audio, FM multi-casting, and data services. Right now there are about 2,000 radio stations broadcasting using digital HD Radio technology in the U.S. To find HD Radio stations in your area, visit the HD Radio website. The add-on HD Radio tuner also supports iTunes Tagging which allows you to save song information (tag) from an HD Radio broadcasting station to your connected iPod or iPhone. The saved songs will show up in a playlist called "Tagged" in iTunes the next time you sync your iPod. Then you can directly buy the songs you want from the iTunes Music Store. The optional HD Radio tuner connects through the head unit's IP-BUS interface.

    Audio Section

24-Bit/96kHz DAC: For superb quality audio playback from DVDs, CDs, and flash media, the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT is equipped with a 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog converter.

MOSFET50 Internal Amplifier: This receiver is equipped with a 50 watts x 4 (peak) MOSFET amplifier for low distortion, high power output. The amplifier is strong enough to power small subwoofers to moderate volume levels in compact cars and pickups. For higher volume levels from subwoofers, an optional amplifier may be connected to the preamp outputs.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the AVH-P2400BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (or 50 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms + 70 watts x 1 channel at 2 ohms for subwoofer)

EEQ (Easy EQ): there are seven stored equalizer curves which you can easily recall at any time. You can choose from - Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, Flat, Custom 1, or Custom 2.

8-Band Graphic EQ: The Custom 1 and Custom 2 EQ modes allow you to manually adjust the level (+/- 12dB) of each band of the head unit's 8-band graphic equalizer (40Hz, 80Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz, and10kHz).

Auto EQ (Optional): The auto-equalizer automatically measures your car's interior acoustic characteristics, and then creates an auto-equalizer curve base on that information. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone (130CDMC20, sold separately) is required to use this function. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone plugs into your compatible Pioneer A/V receiver's front-panel 3.5mm input. The Auto-EQ microphone should be placed in the center of your vehicle's driver seat headrest facing forward for EQ measurement.

Sonic Center Control: Sound that is suited for the listening position can easily be created with this function. You can adjust sound more toward the listening position left (7) to right (7).

Loudness: The Loudness function compensates for deficiencies in the low- and high-frequency ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness to High, Mid, Low, or Off.

Bass Boost: You can easily boost the subwoofer bass level by using the Bass Boost function. The Bass Boost feature allows you increase the subwoofer level from 0 to +6 (12dB).

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. When the Advanced Sound Retriever is on, the high frequency range is compensated to match the frequency response curve to the original sound. There are two available levels of the Advanced Sound Retriever effect.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4 dB to +4 dB.

2V/6ch Preamp Outputs: The Pioneer AVH-P2400BT is equipped with three 2.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The front and rear speakers are fading with high-pass crossover filters, while the subwoofer output is non-fading with a low-pass crossover filter.

    • Front & Rear Preamp Outputs: If you do not want low frequency sounds to play from the front or rear speaker preamp outputs (or speaker outputs), you can turn on the 12dB/octave High Pass Filter. The HPF has a selectable cutoff frequency (50, 63, 80, 100, or 125 Hz). Only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output through the speakers.
    • Subwoofer Output: The unit has a pair of dedicated non-fading RCA subwoofer outputs with a low-pass filter, phase adjustment, and output level. When the subwoofer output is turned on, you can select the frequency of the 18dB/octave low pass filter (50, 63, 80, 100, or 125 Hz), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

Rear Channel Speaker Output: You can choose to use the rear channel output (speaker and preout) for full-range speaker or subwoofer. If you select "subwoofer", you can connect a 4-ohm subwoofer directly to each rear speaker lead, or a 2-ohm subwoofer to one of the rear speaker leads, without using an external amplifier.

Telephone Mute/Attenuator: Sound from your system is muted or attenuated automatically when a phone signal is received when you have hardwired your mobile phone system to the mute wire (yellow/black) of this unit.
