Listen with authority

This component set delivers a satisfying punch, thanks to enhanced woofer cones made of reinforced mica for exceptional rigidity and responsiveness. Install the separate 3/4" tweeters in a good spot up high in your vehicle for better stereo imaging. Pioneer smartly houses the soft dome tweeters in wave guide enclosures that help your highs achieve the widest dispersion possible, and the system also includes 2-way outboard crossovers — a step up from the inline high-pass filters usually found in component systems in this price range.

Really not a good speaker at all, I understand at this size and price there won't be much bass, but these speakers have NONE! The tweaters went bad within 3 days of installing them. Sorry Pioneer & Crutchfield, not good at all.

Extremely detailed sound for the money! It really begs the question why anyone would spend hundreds more unless they had more money than sense!

Pros: Stand-out Value, drop dead simple install, superb sound!

Cons: My sales lady doesn't live in San Antonio.??

Great sounding little speakers!

Kevin from MO on 5/14/2017

Very well designed, well manufactured, quality speakers. At this price point other speakers are not designed this well. Woofer cone material, surround, and vented magnet are very well engineered. Tweeter voice coil is a little small, would have preferred 1" soft dome but wanted it to fit behind factory location and I am cheap. Took some time/adjustments to get the mid bass set up with enough punch yet still protect the little woofer from XMAX at higher volumes. Recommend being able to adjust the woofers actively so you can try different High Pass crossover points and slopes. Great sounding speakers, especially at this price point. I would describe their sound as fast and on the warm side. I like the tweeters a lot. Especially for how small they are. Other notes I did not use the included crossovers. When I opened one up, it was an inexpensive high pass filter, so I made my own. No big deal at this price point. My setup Mazdaspeed3 Head Unit- Sony MEX-GS610BT Fronts- Pioneer TS-A1306C Rears- Pioneer TS-G6845R Amp- Factory Bose system

Pros: Non fatiguing yet detailed sound

Cons: Limited bass

Great quality and sound. installation could have been a little easier with mounting to the door instead of where the factory speakers were located. over all, great speaker! Now my son wants to put an amp to them.

Pros: wiring is a easy hook up

Cons: mounting installation. may need some crafty skill work

Perfect replacement for existing Alpine speakers

Scott H from Rogers, AR on 4/16/2016

2002 Toyota Tacoma

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Chose these to replace existing Alpine speakers same size. These have a much higher Max input. Sound great and the crossovers were small enough to tuck nicely in the one available safe place in the door.

Pros: Easy replacement for existing 5.25" speakers and the tweeters required no modification of mounting bracket Sound is great perhaps more bass would be nice but that's what a subwoofer is for if I need to max out the bass.

Cons: None

Q
Can I hook the woofers to an amp's rear outputs and the tweeters to the same amp's front outputs (so as to be able to use the amp's fader to balance the sound)?
[ Elmo  May 20, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
No, I don't think so. If I remember correctly the tweeters and the woofers are connected and use one output. Not 100% though it's been a couple years since I installed them.
[ Stephen  May 31, 2019 ]
Q
Impedance and crossover quality? Hello, I just want to buy those, but I wonder what is the impedance for each component (woofer and tweeter) because I want to built some real filters in advance, before being delivered. So guy in here said the filters are not a great what and I can tell about the way are inserted on wires, I mean, this could be a capacitor only, as long no wires are going to the woofer! Thanks!
[ Samyaza  May 21, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
The Pioneer TS-A1306C's passive high-pass crossovers have a slope of 12 dB/octave and a crossover point of 8.3 kHz. The woofer is wired to the input side of the crossover, and the filter is applied only to the tweeter; and the tweeter and woofer each present a 4-ohm load individually. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Hope that helps!
