Listen with authority

The Pioneer 6-1/2" speakers deliver a satisfying punch, thanks to a woofer cone made of reinforced mica for rigidity and responsiveness. Pioneer adds an extra midrange driver so you get the most out of chunky guitar riffs, powerful drums, and distinct bass lines that otherwise would remain hidden when listening on sub-par speakers. Pioneer's dome tweeter adds in all the high-frequency details that make music exciting.

Packaged with streamlined grilles for custom installation, you can count on these versatile speakers for a lifetime of enjoyment in your car.

Bought to replace the 2 factory front door speakers in my 2014 Impala

2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited

Bought to replace the 2 factory front door speakers in my 2014 Impala. These speakers have incredible sound quality for somebody that isn't pushing very high watt sound. I am using my factory radio like I'm sure others will do, and I am piecing together my system. I will replace my 6x9 rears next, and within a few months, will put a sub and amp in the trunk, and a deck with around 22-25 watt RMS output in. I done this before and liked the mix. For me, a 22-25 watt RMS deck into fronts with sensitivity: 90 dB and rear with sensitivity: 92-93 dB is plenty of volume for the full range speakers and then a 300-500 RMS sub amp with a 12" sub is a perfect mix with all the volume and bass I need. The only decision left now is if I go with a ported box for more fat and resonant bass or a sealed box for a tighter bass. This is a good set up for those of us who like to feel the bass, but don't need uncomfortable levels of mids and highs from a high powered amp into our full range speakers.

Crystal clear across full range

Herb from Canton, OH on 4/3/2018

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Bought to replace the 2 factory front door speakers in my 2012 Silverado standard cab. Amazing difference! Everything I was hoping for--the treble is crisp, the bass is thumpy, and the mids are clear. The factory speakers sounded like mud, these Pioneers sound well-balanced and clear, across the whole frequency range, and over a variety of music, even with the factory stereo. These sound so good, I'm going to buy 2 similar ones for the rear. Crutchfield shipped them quickly, and the included mounting brackets and wiring harnesses fit perfectly. The tips and buying advice on the website were very helpful for figuring out what kind of speakers I should buy for what I needed, and the vehicle fitment advice was great. I'm a very happy customer, and now a fan of both Crutchfield and Pioneer.

Pros: Very clear sound, thumpy bass, crisp treble

Cons: None

Short version: low power handling but incredible sound quality for somebody that isn't trying to blow their eardrums out (or their pocketbook). Really good quality sound, very full, very precise. Not as loud as some others and what I've had experience in this price range lately, and that's mostly due to the fact they are installed with the stock headunit from 2007. That being said, they're getting four instead of 5 because the power handling is a tad lower than I would like to see.

Pros: Sound integrity and roundness

Cons: Power handling

The speakers sound great for the cost. I bought an open box item and went to install them on July 4th but the hardware and adapter wires were missing from the box. I didn't expect to get a hold of tech support on the holiday but tried anyways and they answered through chat. They were very helpful and ordered the replacement parts that same day. Replacement parts shipped out promptly and were received in time to do the install before I left on Vacation. Very easy Install on my 2007 Impala.

Pros: Sound Great, Easy Install, Great customer service.

Terrible install process

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The speakers are fine, but the installation process in the rear of my 2017 Subaru Forester was AWFUL. This is not up to Crutchfield standards-- they warn you that you'll need to drill holes for rear speakers to fit, but they do not warn you that the speaker adapters are not adapters at all. They are spacers at best, you'll be drilling those too and their only purpose is to prevent metal to metal contact between the speaker and the door. I found it so frustrating and so substandard I'm forced to wonder if the corporate culture at Crutchfield is decaying... it was so unlike past experiences I've had with the company and its products I'm going to have to reassess future purchases. To include something as an 'adapter' in a 'kit' and then have it be nothing of the kind is just wrong. I've bought tons of stuff from Crutchfield and I've trusted them to make both the process and the result be a high-quality thing, but apparently I can no longer rely on them for that. Either create a real adapter for my car or don't pretend to sell one, please!

Pros: Clear sound

Cons: Install kit is terrible, results were sloppy, process was painful, slow, and irritating. Don't sell kits that aren't kits at all.

I bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my Subaru Impreza. They are much better than those that came in the car. I am sure I would enjoy even better sound if I got a new stereo to run the speakers. But for now I am satisfied with the improvement I have gained with just the speakers.

Pros: Good sound. Good quality.

Cons: None so far.

Had a blown speaker in my crew cab Chevy so I took it down to my boys at Car Toys and asked for a set of temporary speakers and they hooked it up. With only replacing the front two speakers I must say I'm very impressed by the way these run off of your average 22w head unit. Needless to say I'm going back to get some for the other doors. Don't expect these to sound like a set of focal k2's but for the money you can't go wrong. I got more than I asked for IMO. Click buy and try em out.

2003 Subaru Forester

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought these for my 2003 Subaru Forrester, along with a pioneer head unit (FH-X830BHS). Installation was easy and straightforward. I used the factory grills as the new grills are not very protective. Unfortunately, I cannot get a good sound out of the speakers (despite the awesome sound shaping abilities of the FH-X830BHS). At first the sound was very tinny, too much high end. Disconnecting the cars' pillar tweeters helped _somewhat_, but I had to turn the high end of the EQ waaaaay down to get an OK sound. Then the bass was very weak. Adjusting for that on the head end helped, but the speakers will clip/distort at any moderate to high volume. And finally, the mid range is very muddy. To the point where when my 12 year old son rode with me and we listened to the new stereo he commented that he thinks he needs his ears cleaned as everything sounds funny/muffled. I spent about a week trying to adjust for a good sound, before deciding to put the stock speakers back in (and re-hook up the stock tweeters). Giving 3 stars, because they are solid, nice looking, and I'm sure they will sound good in another application/car. Just not in mine.

Pros: Looks cool 3-way speakers

Cons: Grills are not very protective Sound was very mushy, very tinny, lacks bass

These speakers were a replacement for the stock speakers in my 2005 Suburban. Installation directions were not the best for a guy who has never done this before and it took some time to get the speakers in correctly. Patience and the willingness to keep trying until it was right are key. The sound on the speakers is fantastic. They sound much better than stock and I am extremely pleased.

This is a good speaker for the price. Highs and kids are super crisp at high volumes. Bass response is decent with my factory head unit, but the overall sound is greatly improved. I plan on adding an aftermarket head unit and sub to cover the low end. I would purchase again though.

Awesome sound! If you're happy with your car's factory amp, like mine which produces awesome bass that sounds like I have powered subs with clear mid & high range, these 3-way speakers are for you! These were a great replacement for my factory speakers, and you can tell the difference. It crosses over at the perfect levels producing the best sound. Also, you may not pay attention to detailed specs, but this pair of speakers also has the widest frequency response range, meaning no matter what car, factory amp or not, and regardless of the head unit, these speakers will be the best for you.

Pros: Widest frequency response range. Is best for any audio set up in any car.

Cons: none

Great speakers for the price! Installed is my wife's Subaru XV without issue and sound many times better than the factory speakers with the stock stereo. Nice tight bass and crystal highs. Installation instructions are right on track and the included adapter cables work well. The speaker depth is very short so there is plenty or room around the speakers. The only drawback with this particular installation is that the mounting tabs on the speakers do not line up with the existing holes in the Subaru doors so you have to drill new ones. But that said it is still a very solid mount. I will probably order another set for my Forester!

Pros: Great balance between all audio frequencies.

Cons: Had to drill mounting holes in the Subaru installation.

Features

Woofers: The multi-layer mica matrix cone was developed to provide an extra light, yet rigid diaphragm to reproduce full, rich sound.

Surrounds: For durability and a smooth response, each woofer uses an elastic polymer (synthetic rubber) surround.

Midrange: Each speaker has a 1-5/8" paper cone midrange with a 0.7 ounce magnet.

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 3/8" dome tweeter made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) film for crisp, clear highs.

Mounting: In addition to fitting many standard 6-1/2 and 4-hole 6-1/2 applications, the TS-A1676R also has a standard 6-3/4 bolt pattern. However, if mounted in a 6-3/4 location the holes for the smaller pattern create an air leak, which should be sealed using a speaker baffle, or something similar. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.
