About the Pioneer Premier TS-A643P
Pioneer Premier A-Series speakers use high-tech materials so you can enjoy strong audio performance in your car. The smooth response and extended high-frequency range of these speakers produce a superior stereo image, so you get the feeling of listening to a band play live.
The TS-A643P 6-1/2" speakers feature an injection-molded polypropylene woofer reinforced with basalt, graphite, and Aramid fibers so it keeps its shape when you're driving it hard. The rubber surround keeps the cone moving smoothly when the volume is cranked so the bass stays strong and tight.
Pioneer uses a 3/4" dome midrange driver for faster, more accurate reproduction of instruments and vocals. A soft dome tweeter and supertweeter deliver bright, sparkling treble, letting you experience all the overtones that bring ambiance to your music. From Ray Price to Rage Against The Machine, you'll hear all of the details that make your music come alive.

Pioneer Premier TS-A643P reviews
Sound alot better than the factory speakers in my volvo vhd 84 dump truck. I just wish somebody other than panasonic built a heavy duty head unit. I bought the best panasonic heavy duty reciever possible. Is rated at 45x4 watts These speakers could still use a little more power to clear up high volume distortion. Very little mods needed, even fit behind factory grills.

These speakers are great. I initially installed with factory stereo. Huge improvement! I then installed a new head unit, a sony xplod. Even better! The sound is super clear and crisp, even at high volume. The bass is beautiful. If you want bass to make your butt pucker, these ain't it. If you want bass you can still feel, can play at a relatively high volume(might still tick off the neighbors!) and it sounds crisp and clear, and still hear the cowbell like it was in the backseat, these speakers are perfect. BTW, you can get speakers anywhere, Crutchfield is like getting professional install without the hefty price tag. The extra installation gear is worth whatever price tag they slap on it. They give it to you for free. Car(your car) specific removal and install instructions will have you in and out in a jif! The wire harness they gave me are labled for a volkswagen(I have a saturn L300), and they worked perfectly! In summary, Great speakers, Great retailer!

For the price, these little speakers really deliver. A huge step up from the factory speakers in my subaroo, they really bring our the highs and lows of the music - decent stereo seperation too. Real easy to install!! Highly recommended.

I installed 4 of these on my '04 GMC Envoy XUV, two in one evening, then two the next evening. Very easy install, especially w/ the wire harnesses provided by Crutchfield. By doing two at a time I could compare their sound w/ the stock GM speakers, a remarkable difference in power, clarity, and distortion-free volume. (The previous weekend I had replaced the factory head unit w/ a Pioneer BT8000.) The Crutchfield web bot didn't recommend them for the rear door locations on my Envoy XUV, but I took off a door panel and measured to verify the fit before ordering. They fit perfectly, likely because the XUV has a longer wheelbase than the standard Envoy, so the rear wheel wells don't intrude on the read doors. I didn't need to use the Pioneer speaker covers because the speakers fit so well behind the door panel grills. I did install some self-adhesive compressible foam tape gasketing at the speaker perimeter before reinstalling the door covers. It was approx. 1/4" wide by 1/2" thick and is available at any home-improvement store. (The stock speakers had similar gasketing that couldn't be reused.) This helps to isolate the speakers and reduce vibration of the door panels. All in all, I'm very pleased with the fit and sound.

Trying to make these fit a rear door in a Dodge P/U, just a little tight. 2005 needs 5 1/4" speakers. Otherwise metal fabrication is required.

Woofers: The Pioneer Premier TS-A643P speakers feature an IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone woofer interlaced with carbon graphite, basalt, and long aramid fibers. This IMPP cone design provides the strength and rigidity that powerful bass requires. The high-density, compressed internal architecture is resilient and transfers sound very quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich sound.
Surrounds: For durability and a smooth response, each woofer uses a lightweight elastic polymer surround.
Magnet/Voice Coils: Each woofer features an 11-ounce Strontium magnet with heat-resistant polyester-imide resin coated voice coil wires. This allows the voice coil to handle more heat, improving input power handling as well as reliability.
Midranges: Each speaker has a 3/4" lightweight diaphragm dome midrange for fast, accurate response with low distortion. The midrange has a 0.2 ounce neodymium magnet and magnetic cooling fluid.
Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 3/8" dome tweeter and 3/8" dome super tweeter made from PET silver film for crisp, clear highs.
Mounting: The speakers can be mounted in standard 6-1/2" openings, 4-hole 6-1/2" openings, or 6-3/4" openings.
Warranty Note: The included warranty card indicates a 1 year parts and labor warranty for Premier brand loudspeakers. The warranty is extended to 3 years if the speakers are installed by a Pioneer Premier dealer. However, Pioneer has extended the warranty to 3 years for all Premier brand speakers purchased from Crutchfield, regardless of who installs them.
