About the Pioneer TS-A6865

The Pioneer TS-A6865 6"x8" speakers feature foamed Injection-Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) cones, the latest refinement of Pioneer speaker technology. By filling the polypropylene cone material with tiny pockets of air, Pioneer produces incredibly light and efficient woofers. Unlike dual purpose 5"x7"/6"x8" speakers which have a 5"x7" woofer cone, these speakers have a full 6"x8" foamed IMPP cone for deeper bass response.

The Pioneer TS-A6865 6"x8" speakers feature foamed Injection-Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) cones, the latest refinement of Pioneer speaker technology. By filling the polypropylene cone material with tiny pockets of air, Pioneer produces incredibly light and efficient woofers. Unlike dual purpose 5"x7"/6"x8" speakers which have a 5"x7" woofer cone, these speakers have a full 6"x8" foamed IMPP cone for deeper bass response.

The TS-A6865 features a 3-way design with a foamed IMPP woofer, balanced dome midrange, and a silver film tweeter. The butyl rubber surround contributes to the strong bass response and long speaker life. Grilles are not included. (Factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.) 1-year warranty.

Features

Woofers: The woofer is constructed from foamed IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) Rigilite. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Surround Material: The butyl rubber surround has greater internal loss than standard urethane, preventing harmonic distortion at higher frequencies. It more efficiently absorbs edge reflections that can cause audible distortion, resulting in clearer bass performance.

Midranges: The 1-3/8" midrange is a foamed PPC (Pearl PolyCarbon) semi-dome midrange.

Tweeters: The speaker uses a 3/8" silver film dome tweeter for extended high frequency response. 

Magnet: The magnet is constructed from high energy strontium.

Voice Coil: The speaker uses a Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire voice coil. A Glass-Imide Voice Coil Bobbin gives the speaker high power handling capabilities.
