Mounting Brackets: Pioneer includes a pair of mounting brackets to install the woofers in vehicle-specific applications. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Surrounds: For durability and a smooth response, each woofer uses an elastic polymer (synthetic rubber) surround.

Tweeter Mounting: The system includes flush mount rings and angled surface mount housings for the tweeters. The surface mount housing positions the tweeters at approximately a 45° angle. Bendable brackets are also included for mounting the tweeters in factory locations. Once installed the tweeters do not swivel.

Crossovers: The high pass crossovers are integrated into the included speaker wire and the low pass crossovers are integrated into the woofer baskets. Both are 6 dB/octave and the crossover point is 3.3 kHz. Each length of speaker wire connects to both a woofer and tweeter. Quick slides connect to the woofer, a 40" output leg with integrated crossover (approximately 1/2" diameter x 1-3/4" long) connects to the terminals attached to the tweeter, and an 11" input leg connects to the source.

I have kicker components in other locations in my car with a sensitivity of 90 dB...these are much lower at 87db. If I install these, they will be on the receiving end of approximately 80 watts RMS. Would the difference in sensitivity between this set and my other speakers result in noticeable distortion from these speakers as compared with my others? These appear to be the only 6x9 components available for my car that would not require significant customization for install.

Hi Chris, thank you for your question. There should not be a noticeable distortion when using these paired up with a set of speakers rated with a 90dB sensitivity rating. There isn't a huge difference between the two ratings, but should you purchase these and you do notice poor performance or a drastic difference, we would be happy to go over that with you to try to find a solution.

What size speaker wire is needed for these speakers?

I like to use 14 gauge wire, most would use 16, but if you are using factory wiring is usually 18 gauge, depends a little on how much power, with 14 gauge you can carry more current without getting warm!

I used 12 ga. speaker wire but these will handle massive power and I was running the wire about 15 feet. You could get away with 16 ga. in a normal install and probably not notice the difference.

I used the factory wires either 18 or 16 gauge. But I used 16 gauge from my amp to the factory wires.
