About the Pioneer TS-A709

Alexander H.

Don't overlook this little speaker

More and more automakers like Toyota, GM, and Chrysler equip their vehicles with 2-3/4" speakers in the dash, and Pioneer has the perfect upgrade. These Pioneer TS-A709 2-3/4" 2-way speakers flaunt surprising power-handling and solid construction. A carbon and mica-reinforced, injection-molded polypropylene woofer adds sturdiness to your sound while the polyetherimide tweeter steps up the detail. Pioneer includes inline high pass filters with high-quality capacitors to protect the speakers from any damage that lower frequencies can cause. Overall, you can look forward to more clarity from your tunes than with your factory speakers.

Product highlights:

  • 2-3/4" carbon and mica-reinforced injection-molded polypropylene midrange speakers
  • polyetherimide dome tweeters
  • inline crossovers
  • handles up to 100 watts RMS (450 watts peak power)
  • frequency response (using included inline crossover): 850-34,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 82 dB
  • woofer top-mount depth: 1-5/16"
  • grilles not included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Features

Overview: Pioneer describes the TS-A709 as a wide range speaker (as opposed to a full range speaker), designed to replace the 2¾" tweeter used by several vehicle manufacturers. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Crossovers: A 6 dB/octave, 850 Hz high-pass crossover is integrated in-line with each included 10" length of speaker wire. The output end of the wire has quick slides that plug onto the speaker terminals; the input end of the wire is not terminated. At the widest point the crossovers measure just under ¾" across.

Power: The 100 watt RMS power rating is valid only when using the included crossovers.

Frequency Response: The published frequency response is 101 Hz to 34 kHz (-20 dB), but the -3 dB point on the included high pass crossover is 850 Hz. (The included crossover should always be used, unless the speakers are actively filtered.)

Customer Q&A

2 questions already asked

Q
Which side is the positive on these?
[ LEDUAR  Mar 30, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
Positive will be visually identified by the larger "spade" connecting slide on the speaker and the crossover, the smaller (by about half) will be the negative. That should get you sorted, but if you are having any issues connecting your gear bought from us do not hesitate to reach out to our Technical Support gurus on our live hotline. We back you with that support for LIFE with any purchase!
