Disappointed
Jeffrey from College Station, TX on 3/31/2019
I decided to update my head unit with one that had apple carplay, android auto, and a backup camera: pioneer MVH-2400nex. While I was at it, I went ahead and updated amp to a more efficient and compact class D (Pioneer GM-D9605) to power a TS-D102 and 4 Infinity kappa 6.5s. I was coming from a 10" kappa perfect. This sub's sensitivity is rated in the 70s and you can easily see this. It was wired at 2 ohms (measured at 1.8). My amp (600W RMS) felt barely adequate to power it , and it did not sound good. This was with a 0.75 cubic ft sealed enclosure. The sound was boomy and not defined. The bass notes dribbled together. I thought may be I was just being critical to I did back to back comparisons with the infinity. The bass quality was easily distinguishable between the two. It seemed, compared to the infinity, the pioneer sub had difficulty controlling the cone and thus it sounded muddled.
Pros: Wiring flexibility.
Cons: Poor sound.

The design doesn't reach out and grab me, like previous models. All around it is a decent replacement compared to the factory sub. I have been purchasing pioneer products for over 20 years.
Pros: Nice sound
Cons: Presentation

Tight, Accurate BASS
Anthony from Woodcliff Lake, NJ on 1/24/2019
Just installed this Sub into my 2017 Ram Rebel. First off, I'm new to Pioneer speakers. I had a Pioneer NAV headunit in my last RAM and loved it so I decided to go with Pioneer speakers in my new Truck. I have the TS-D69C 6x9 components in the doors hooked up to a RF P1000x5 Amp. Now I've added the SUB and it is incredible. I loaded it into an ATREND enclosure, which is an affordable unit. THE RF puts out 500RMS @ 1ohm to this sub and it really kicks. Deep, tight, accurate bass. Really makes my music sound great. I've heard details in music I've never heard before. My last Ram had Infinity Kappa's and JL Sub run off a Kenwood 5 channel. This new combo is significantly more powerful with much more musical clarity and detail. So far Pioneer has grabbed my attention with this TS line of speakers. Very pleased with my purchase and the great customer service Crutchfield provides.
Pros: Well constructed Great sound Versatile 2ohm DVC Value
Cons: None
