Bullet-proof bass
The TS-D520C system includes two 5-1/4" woofers, a pair of 1-1/8" polyester tweeters, and a set of external crossover networks. Pioneer covers the polypropylene woofer cones with an outer layer made from basalt fibers mixed with Aramid, the synthetic fiber used in bullet-proof vests. Add in butyl rubber surrounds, and you can count on these cones to broadcast strong bass for years to come.
High-frequency performance
The 1-1/8" polyester soft dome tweeter uses a rear sealed chamber to extend its midrange response, opening up the sound as more sonic details are broadcast from the tweeter. The crossover network uses audiophile-grade components to ensure that you hear pure, uncolored sound. Pioneer includes an adapter that allows you to mount the woofer in a 6"x8" opening, along with three tweeter mounts.

IMPP Woofer: Each 5-1/4" cone woofer is made from interlaced Dual-layer IMX (Injection-molded Matrix) aramid/basalt fiber composite cone woofers. The woofers have butyl rubber surrounds for a smoother response, heat resistant voice coil, and 10-ounce Strontium magnets.
Mounting: The TS-D520C's woofers can be mounted in a standard 4-hole 5-1/4" opening without the use of a bracket. The woofers can also be mounted in a standard 6x8" opening or a Ford/Mazda 5x7" opening using the supplied adapter brackets.
Tweeters
Soft-Dome Tweeter: The TS-D520C features two 1-1/8" soft-dome tweeters with magnetic fluid and 0.4-ounce Neodymium magnets for efficient, crisp, clear highs.
Mounting: The tweeters can be flush-mounted using the supplied metal clamps. The supplied plastic mounting cups allow you to surface mount the tweeters in an aftermarket location or mount the tweeters in a factory tweeter location behind a factory installed grille. The surface mounting cup lets you position the tweeter at 45° or 75° angle. Once installed, the tweeters do not swivel. The surface mounting cups attach to a flat, clean surface of your vehicle with the supplied dual-sided tape.

Crossovers
Passive Crossover Network: The TS-D520C features one 2800 Hz outboard passive crossover module for each woofer/tweeter combination. The two outboard crossover modules feature a fixed -12dB/octave low-pass and -12dB/octave high-pass filter.
Crossover Connections: Gold-plated screw terminals are provided to connect the crossover to your amplifier and the woofer and tweeter. Note: No speaker wires or quick slides are provided for connecting the crossovers to the woofers.
Tweeter Level Control: The crossover provides two positive screw terminals for connecting the tweeter. One screw terminal provides full output (-0 dB), while the other provides a -3 dB output in case the speakers are too bright.
Mounting: There are four supplied self-tapping screws (4mm x 25mm) for mounting the crossovers in your vehicle.

Warranty Note
Warranty Note: The included warranty card indicates a 1 year parts and labor warranty for Premier brand loudspeakers. The warranty is extended to 3 years if the speakers are installed by a Pioneer Premier dealer. However, Pioneer has extended the warranty to 3 years for all Premier brand speakers purchased from Crutchfield, regardless of who installs them.
