Upgrade with Pioneer
Car audio enthusiasts know that replacing your factory speakers is the first step towards better sound. Pioneer TS-D6802R 6"x8" speakers sport innovative technologies and materials that'll put your car's sound miles ahead of where it was.
The journey begins with the innovative woofer — a high-tech composite material made from basalt and Aramid creates a rigid, lightweight cone. This design supplies solid midbass punch with exceptional midrange definition, while its rubber surround ensures smooth cone excursion. An extra-thick stamped metal basket supports the woofer cone, dampening vibrations and resonances that can unduly color your music's natural sound.
The soft-dome tweeter radiates impressive highs, aided by a special wave guide that improves off-axis performance — meaning you'll get better stereo imaging throughout your car. A sealed rear chamber allows the tweeter to reach lower into the midrange to improve the definition of vocals and instruments. The tweeter's compact and powerful neodymium magnet provides excellent performance even when the power levels are cranked.

Features
Woofer Cones: The woofers have dual-layer IMX (Injection Molded Matrix) Aramid/Basalt fiber composite cones. The Basalt fiber is made from natural rock and is interwoven with aramid fiber. This Aramid/Basalt fiber surface layer material is very rigid and maintains an accurate, detailed music reproduction.
Butyl Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use butyl rubber surrounds.
1-1/8" Soft Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1-1/8" soft dome tweeter with magnetic fluid and a 0.4 ounce Neodymium magnet. The tweeters are encased in a specially-designed anti-resonant sealed rear chamber. The waveguides in front of the tweeters provide wide sound dispersion.
Tweeter Enclosure: The rear chamber tweeter enclosure extends mid-range frequency for improved vocal imaging and staging.
Glass-Imide Voice Coil Bobbins: Each speaker has a Glass-Imide Voice Coil Bobbin for higher power handling.
Built-in 2-Way Crossovers: A 12 dB/octave high-pass filter and 6 dB/octave low-pass filter are attached to each speaker to improve the transition from mid to high frequency. Audiophile-grade capacitors and inductors are used.

Put these in my 2010 Mustang GT Convertible. The sound is MUCH better than the originals, and a lot better than the Kicker KS680s. Decent bass, low mids and crisp highs. Shop around for better pricing but these are very good speakers.
