Guest from Maryville, TN on 1/26/2021
These speakers are good for the money. I have them in the doors of a 2002 Ford Explorer sport. 3 total layers of sound deadening, a foam backing pad behind the speaker, and foam around the edge of the speaker (sealing off back waves). Bass is good off an alpine head unit, midrange is ok, but anything above about 4 kHz and they are lacking.
Pros: Good bass, so-so midrange, good bang for the buck.
Cons: Highs are really lacking.

Pros: Good highs and mids. No distortion. Good price. One step above stock
Cons: Lacking in bass.

Work well. Replaced factory speakers in 2001 Focus. Rear had no clearance problems. Front, had to use provided spacer on back side to clear window, also the provided screws. Despite the specs showing 72Hz on the low side, these had no problem with the low bass. Sounded a little darked than the factory speakers, re-eq the deck and all the clarity is there. Well worth the price.

Decent upgrade over factory speakers
Crutchfield customer from Tamaqua, PA on 8/12/2019
1996 Jeep Cherokee
If I would have noticed that the frequency range for the speakers was 72-14k Hz I would have never bought them. I have them ran in parallel to a dual channel amp at 80W rms per channel. The sound quality is decent but you will notice a difference between these and speakers that go up to a 20k Hz frequency. They do put out a decent amount of bass but it has a plastic sounding quality to it. I am thankful I did not pay full price for these because they are definitely not worth the advertised price. Spend the extra $10-30 dollars for a higher quality speaker. If you are into high quality sound at a fair price, do not buy these and spend the couple extra bucks it will cost to get something better.
Pros: Build quality Ease of installation
Cons: Frequency range Quality of bass

Don't buy scratch and dent....
Dan from Neah Bay, WA on 3/3/2019
2003 Ford Econoline
Speaker sounds great, a cast improvement to stock speakers. My only issue is that I bought three pair of scratch and dent, and all three had signs of being mounted and used. You could see the paint scratched around the mounting holes. Scratch and dent, and used are two different things! Crutchfield sent me three sets of wiring harnesses, and one set was the wrong ones so I had to wire the speaker by cutting the harness and adding quick connects.
Pros: Appearance Sound
Cons: Prior mounted and used

Pros: Crisp clear sound Good mix of highs, mids and bass. Value priced

Jonathan from Dallas, TX on 1/15/2019

This whole thing started with me just wanting to have Bluetooth in my truck, so I replaced the head unit with some cheap pioneer from Walmart... Then I went full OCD and wanted to replace the speakers and add an amp and sub... The speakers work as expected but the head unit starts distorting the music about 3/4 of the way up.... I just received my amp to run these though and I'm sure they'll sound as intended after I get it installed... I'll end up changing the head unit out before it's all said and done... The speakers come with wiring harnesses so it's basically plug and play

Excellent value - Easy upgrade from factory speakers
Dewy from Centreville, VA on 1/11/2019
2002 Ford F-150
I gave these speakers 5 stars for the overall value. I bought them to replace factory speakers in a Ford pickup truck. Getting them at Crutchfield also meant that I was provided the free connector adapters which is the right way to do an installation with ease. So, my 5 stars is because they are a perfect fit and they sound tons better than the factory OEM speakers. They work okay with the factory head unit but could use a small amp to really get the most out of them because the factory unit does not have a lot of power. Or a better option would be to replace the factory unit with an aftermarket unit with modest power. These speakers won't compete with high end speakers costing hundreds of dollars but if you are looking at excellent replacement speakers for an easy upgrade from factory...these are great. The price is hard to beat. I got mine on sale for about $10 off the normal price but the normal price is even a bargain if you ask me.
Pros: Great price, decent sound quality (much better than OEM speakers), perfect fit for my Ford truck.
Cons: Not as good as high-end speakers but you will only notice the difference if you have an upgraded audio system in your vehicle.

Very weak sounding.......not what I expected.
Ian from Strafford, MO on 1/8/2019
2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Very disappointed in the sound quality from these speakers. I installed just one in the rear of my F250 and switched between it and the oem speakers in order to see how much better these sounded....well, I was shocked that these pioneer speakers were actually quieter than the oem speakers at the same volume setting on the stereo, and the sound sounded much more "flat" compared to the oem speakers. I've always had great luck with Pioneer products, but these were a real disappointment. I ended up sending them back and ordering a set of Infinity's. If you are wanting to upgrade your factory speakers, spend a little a little more of speakers....I would skip these.
Pros: Cheap price.
Cons: Horrible sound, less volume than the oem speakers at the same volume setting. Very "thin" and "flat" Sounding.

These fit perfectly in my factory speaker openings. The sound is good. Not overwhelming bassy or loud but clear. For the price though these are an excellent upgrade over the factory speakers. The included instructions from Crutchfield were very easy to follow and accurate.
Pros: Excellent fit

The speakers have good bass and ok high end but very little mid range unless I crank them way up. I expected better. I was told they would be more responsive than stock speakers at lower levels but they just aren't.

Good Value

These speakers are wonderful, my only hesitation to give 5 stars is that other speakers that cost only a bit more are significantly better quality. The sound is clear, and it's still a vast improvement over the paper, stock speakers that came in our Expedition.

Great Improvement on a Budget
Jim from Juneau, AK on 11/7/2018
2006 Ford Explorer
I was looking for speakers to replace and old 2006 OEM set of car door speakers, but wanted a modest improvement on a budget. These filled that bill perfectly. Snappier bass, better midranges due to the second driver, and all-around much clearer sound.
Pros: Easy to install, great improvement over OEM sound
Cons: Not the deepest bass, but adequate.

Compared to the stock speakers from a 1998 Ranger, these things are amazing. Good punch from them, much more clarity, especially when paired with the new JVC head unit we ordered with 4 new Pioneer speakers. Thank you Crutchfield, as all the mounting and adapters was all included, works flawlessly, just like every other order, every time!
Pros: Clear Good sound Leagues ahead of stock speakers Exact fit, no sort of adjustments needed to mount

Great sound, no grill/speaker covers provide
Larry from Edmond, OK on 8/13/2018
2009 Ford Crown Victoria
The speakers sound great. No problem with the sound or quality. I was disappointed in that the plastic spacer rings are not fastened to the inside rim of the speakers, but just sit inside the rim while you work to fasten the speakers in place. This is difficult if the speakers are screwed in place from the top, versus the bottom. Install from the bottom should work fine using the spacers. I put the speakers in the front doors of a crown vic. Had to discard the spacer rings and make sure there was nothing on the inside of the door trim that would rub or damage the speakers. The speakers came with no grill covers, in case you need something to cover them for a finished look if doing a rear deck or exposed install.
Pros: Quality sound
Cons: No speaker covers if doing a rear deck install and need finished look.

Excellent Factory Replacement

2005 Ford F-150
Big upgrade from stock speakers, replaced all lower door speakers in my 05 F150 Crew cab. Clarity returned immediately to my music, volume is much more readily available without distorting. Note: To fit the speakers in my front door I had to trim the tabs from the unused mounting slots.
Pros: Good sound quality at a fair price, excellent factory equipment upgrade. Easy install on 05 F150.
Cons: Wish bass was a bit punchier, may dyna mat or install baffling in doors at a future time.
