Overview

Our take on the Pioneer TS-SW3002S4

Pioneer's TS Series shallow-mount subs bring great bass to vehicles where conventional subs won't fit. Their low profile allows the use of slender enclosures that'll fit behind a truck seat or in any tight space while delivering the bass performance you need. The TS-SW3002S4 12" shallow-mount sub handles up to 400 watts RMS with a mounting depth of just 3-3/8".

A shallow-mount sub that rocks

Pioneer's TS Series shallow-mount subs bring great bass to vehicles where conventional subs won't fit. Their low profile allows the use of slender enclosures that'll fit behind a truck seat or in any tight space while delivering the bass performance you need. The TS-SW3002S4 12" shallow-mount sub handles up to 400 watts RMS with a mounting depth of just 3-3/8".

The TS-SW3002S4 features an oversized cone made of mica-injected molded resin that moves more air and delivers accurate bass. The sub works best in a small sealed enclosure, making it ideal for fitting those tight spaces in today's smaller vehicles. Pioneer recommends the UD-SW300D down firing enclosure for use with this sub.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 300 and 600 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Excellent Bass

Jason from Lakeland, FL on 5/20/2018

I've got two of these in an enclosed box under the back seat of my tundra and a pioneer 5channel 2000watt amp pushing them and they sound clean clear bass

Pros: Clean clear bass thumps very hard

Cons: Slightly bigger than 12" must cut holes a little bigger for your box

This speaker really really packs a lot of bass into a small "footprint". I've got it in a sealed box under the back seat of a 2002 f150 supercrew. I'm pushing it with a 500.2 fosgate amp bridged to one channel. This combined with my epicenter is breath taking. I really recommend this sub for all applications, not only limited space situations.

Surprised

Features

Shallow Mount Woofer: Pioneer's Shallow-Mount subwoofers are designed to provide installation options for a broad range of vehicles. They can be mounted behind or under the seats of many vehicles. The TS-SW3002S4 has a Mica reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. The process of bonding reinforced pulp to the back of the cone improves its damping capability and eliminates excess vibration. The oversized cone structure provides more surface area without changing the external dimensions, producing louder and deeper bass by moving more air.

Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.5 ft³ to 1.0 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 0.8 ft³.

Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.65ft³ to 1.0 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 0.8 ft³ with a single 3" diameter x 11" long port.

Bandpass Box Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.5 ft³ per chamber to 0.8 ft³ per chamber; within this range the ideal size is 0.6 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 5" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.6 ft³ chambers.

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Krissy  Feb 28, 2018 ]  Staff
I cannot see why not, just go easy on the power at the beginning! [ Armando  Jul 12, 2017 ]
It is possible to drive two of these subs with a 2 ohm amp however you cannot drive any single sub at 2 ohms. These subs are SVC (single voice coil) and can only go as low as 4 ohms. Crutchfield has a wiring diagram should you need drive 2 - 4 ohm subs using a 2 ohm amp. Unfortunately Crutchfield doesn't allow links (even to their own site) in replies. Do a search for "2 SVC 4 ohm mono" and "subwoofer wiring diagrams" on Crutchfield to see how to set this up properly. [ Ryan  Jul 11, 2017 ]

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: There is not a 2-ohm version for this Pioneer model. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Jun 07, 2014 ]  Staff
