Ready to get serious about sound?

When I think of classic car audio, Pioneer is one of the first names that comes to mind — that iconic logo, the solid build, the warm sound. Their Z-Series TS-Z65C 6-1/2" component speaker system upholds the legend, making it the very best way to add smooth, open, Pioneer sound quality to your car.

Audiophile-grade design and materials

Why won't the same old speakers suffice if you take sound quality seriously? High-res audio files contain significantly more data than CDs, or cassettes before them. So, Pioneer built the Z-Series to harness that wealth of information and reproduce music that's incredibly close to the original performance. To ensure a premium audio experience, Pioneer uses Twaron, a lightweight, heat-resistant fiber that's exceptionally strong and stable, to create a woofer cone that will confidently handle your music's midrange and lows without undesirable resonances.

An oversized aluminum dome tweeter reproduces the most demanding passages in your music, while maintaining its accuracy in high-level playback. With a frequency range that pushes well beyond 40,000 Hz, you'll enjoy authentic reproduction of the finest recordings in your collection, with all the overtones and harmonics that make music more real. Compact, quality external crossover networks bring out the best in each driver so that you experience a seamless performance. Equipped to handle power up to 100 watts RMS, you'll be well-served driving these speakers with an aftermarket amplifier.

With these gold-trimmed Z-Series speakers installed in your doors, you can turn up your music with confidence and savor all the nuances you've been craving in the car.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including Pioneer, call this size woofer a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size as a 6-3/4". Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Tweeter Mounting: The tweeters can be flush mounted or mounted behind a factory grille using the included housings. Once installed in either housing the tweeters will pivot, so they can be angled to optimize imaging.

Q
Do the speaker wires need to be terminated or can they be bare?

Hi Stephen. The speaker wires coming from the crossover are already terminated to fit the posts on the speakers. As for the wire going to the amplifier, it would depend on the application you are going for as the wire is bare. I ran my wire straight to the amplifier so I soldered extra wire on and left it bare.
nathan  Apr 24, 2019
A
Do not keep bare as it will short out what they are connected to.

Q
Does the RMS rating refers to only one channel (i.e., 100 w RMS per channel) or does it mean the total power of the two channels? Also, if I have a lower powered coaxials at the back, say, 40 w RMS per channel, what would be the most appropriate power of the amplifier that would go with this setup, considering that I would want to bring out the best of this TS-Z65c but not damage the pair of coax? Tyvm, guys!

Hi, Neil! Okay, so I've already bought the Pioneer TS-Z65C (100 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms), for both my front and rear channels, and are driven by Alpine PDX-F4 (4 Channel, 100 Watts @ 4 Ohms). The current setup is decent but I I think these components can still shine if ran actively but I don't know where to begin. So, here are my questions and hoping that you could spare some of your time in attending to my silly questions: 1. Type of Crossover/Processor (2-way, 4-way or 6-way)? 2. Number of pre-amp outputs? Current setup that I have is: I have two pairs of components/separates and will be having a dedicated amplifier driving at least 400-watt (RMS) Subwoofer. 3. Power Rating of the Amplifiers that will drive the tweeters and woofers separately? 4. Type of Amplifier (2-channel or 4-channel x2)? 5. Any available Wiring Diagram that I can study? Thank you so much!

100rms per channel, from what I've got my set to they seem to peak about 90rms to the mids and about 80rms on the tweeters. My set is ran active so unsure of the true rms value of mids and tweeters. Mine probably peak due to size of my amp and music I listen to.
